(For more information read SCP Document SCP-1678) Echo is one of 4 out of 8 squad members that survived. This Interview was set as a debrief and for further documentation on SCP-1678.

<Begin Log>

<Dr> Please state your name, rank, and task force for the record.

<Echo> █████ █████, code name Echo, Squad leader, Squad 7, Tau-4.

Thank you. Could you tell me how you got in contact with the foundation.

Sir, yes sir. I was contacted by the foundation during my time in the Military. I was known to be a crack shot and a good squad leader. I managed to complete many of my missions flawlessly. A member in the Foundation managed to notice and that's roughly how it goes.

Very well. Once you were stationed on SCP-1678 what was your primary task?

Well, doc. It’s quite simple. Our main task was to find out what the █████ it was. To be honest with you. I don’t think anyone expected it to be as big as it is. Once we found out that this would take way longer to contain that place than expected, we started to set up a temporary HQ (HeadQuarter). Easier said than done. All the buildings in the area were so █████ up it would have been impossible to even enter. Pipes going everywhere and lights floating in mid-air without any form of source. I and my squad have been on many weird missions but this was something different. And that voice that kept playing on the speakers. Just all was kinda weirding me and the squad out. Not in a scary way, but just… disturbing.

Alright. let’s try not get off the main subject. What was the secondary task after you set up an HQ.

Right, Right, sight. So after we set up the HQ, me and my squad headed in towards the centre of the city. I don’t know for certain and my mind is a little bit hazy but I can recall we started to head down. [DATA EXPUNGED]
The city was quite a weird view. Everything looked like if it was straight out of London but just every building was made of metal pipes.

Sorry for interrupting. But when was the first time you came into contact with SCP-1678-A?

SCP-1678-A,? Oh, you mean Bob. Yeah, I was coming to that. So we had been walking down the road for about 20 minutes. It took a bit longer because we were still suspicious on what that place had to offer, but after a while, we ran into Bob or as the Announcer says, Boby. (Addendum: Echos team refer to the voice coming from the megaphones as "the Announcer"). When we saw it we immediately raised our guns, Pointed it at Bob whilst getting into whatever cover we had. It stopped in the middle of the street and we could hear the Announcer suddenly say “Halt police! Drop your weapons” or something and then followed it by “Come now, let’s be having you!”. We weren't in the best spot for a fight so I told the guys to slowly move back into better cover. Of course, they (SCP-1678-A and The Announcer) didn't like it cause then we heard,”Police! Don’t run!”. I was starting to fear a confrontation so I ordered my guys to get ready to fire. We were all carrying some m4 to m16A1 with 40 mikes (40 Millimeter grenade launcher), hell even one of my guys were carrying an AT4 (single shot rocket launcher). Once everyone was locked on target I ordered them to shot. He took a hell of a punch to destroy. We fired like 60 rounds into that guy and he still didn’t go down. I shot my 40 mike at his feet. It did something but it wasn’t much. It damaged the legs but nothing more. The only thing it did was slow him down. █████ got off a lucky shot. Hit Alpha in the leg. Foxtrot grabbed the AT4 of his back and aimed it at the guy and blew him up into pieces. But yeah that's how we meet the first Bob in the city.

Okay. What about SCP-1678-B?

You mean Eyesky. Yeah, creepy █████. It’s very uncomfortable to always know that someone is watching you. Plus we didn't have any idea if they could communicate with the other bobs. They are easy to destroy. One shot with a 9 mill (9 Millimeter handgun) and there down. The problem is that there are too █████ many of them around. You could spend a day shooting them like clay pigeons but you would only have killed 0,01% of them. And for all we know someone is producing more of them.

And SCP-1678-C?

The reks. Eh not so much to talk about when it comes to them. We managed to hear the news about giving the reks things from the other squads. So we just let them be. Tho one time Foxtrot, one of the new guys in the squad, told us this █████ up thing once. We were walking down the road on [DATA EXPUNGED] and ran into one rek. As usual, we just walked by but Foxtrot stopped in front of her and just stared at her with a creepy smile. I stopped, turned around and started to walk towards him. When I came up to him he looked at me with the same face. I asked what was up and he answers. “I wonder if one could potentially use the reks for, you know, Personal use”. Weirded out I said “What the █████ man! Where did this come from?”. He answers “What I’ve haven't had any fun time in █████ ages. It would be nice if I could at least satisfy it once a year!”.

Please sir. Let’s try not to sway of the subject anymore. We still have one SCP left to talk about

The Wonder machine. Yeah, I know. Hate that thing.

Why may that be?

Well, you know the symptoms of the defective gop.

Yes, what about them?

Well, we were the first one to find them out.

Explain please.

You see, one of the other squad managed to find those machines once when out on patrol. We had seen posters about the machine on the walls around the entire town. So the squad investigated it and then called for a scientist to be transported to their location to then document the thing. We were that transport. When we got there it seems like one of the guys in the other squad tried the paste. Luckily for him, it wasn’t a defect. The scientist wasn’t all too happy about that. Gave the guy a real sermon (lecture). The scientist made his documentation and that was it from that machine. Later we got the documentation that the paste was as far as the scientist know “safe” but that they did find some sort of drugs or chemicals █████ if I know. Even so, I told my men to stay away from that █████. Everyone but one listened to that. Once again Foxtrot needed to be the odd one out. If he ever had the coins and if we ever stumbled upon one of those machines he would immediately go to it and order that paste. I think he was addicted to that stuff. Probably because of those drugs. But one day me, foxtrot and two (2) other guys were guarding one of our temporary FOBs (Forward Operating Base) whilst waiting on our other four (4) who were patrolling the outer area of the FOB. So we were gathered around one of those machines and of course, Foxtrot went up to it and ordered. Tho unknowns to us, this was one of the defective machines…. █████ Man.

What happened to Foxtrot?

█████, he.. he █████ (it is heard Echo taking a deep breath.) He mutated or deformed,… I don’t know, it happened so fast and suddenly. (unexpectedly Echo is only showing mild concern in his face). He kinda looked like one of those failed mutated humans from that game, what was it… Fallout.

What did you do after Foxtrot deformed.

Well, I did the only humane thing and shot him in the head. What ells. █████. Foxtrot wasn’t too bad of a guy. Sure he was cocky and mostly didn’t follow orders. But when you told him to do something, He did it with flying colours. But he didn’t deserve that.

Thank you for your time Mr █████.

Closing statement: By request from █████ █████, Echo has been requested to be subjected to class A amnestics for Echo’s mental health.

Addendum 1: Injection of class A amnestics has as of ██/██/████ proven ineffective to Echo. Stronger amnestics will be used. Some scientist are tho questioning the possibility of Echo being immune to any and all foundation amnestics.

Addendum 2: Theory has been confirmed. Echo has proven immune to any class amnestics. Scientists are as of ██/██/████ been conducting research and documentation on Echo. He is not allowed to leave facility ████ at any time until the reasons of Echo's immunity is uncovered.

Addendum 3: Echo has breached containment and is now roaming free outside of site ████. After further investigation of CCTV footage from Echos cell, it is shown that Echo is capable of anomalous abilities. Echo is as of ██/██/████ been documented as SCP-XXXX and interview has been upgraded to only level 4 viewing clearance.
