Two instances of SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-XXXX are to be contained in a 25m x 25m x 25m cube, 0.5 meters thick on all sides. The cube is to be comprised entirely of steel. 2m thick insulation material must be placed on all sides of the cube to prevent the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX from leaking out of the containment area.

Observation of SCP-XXXX is available to personnel with security clearance level 1 or above. Personnel entering and exiting SCP-XXXX's containment area must be wearing military-grade cold weather gear.

The population of the containment area must never exceed 8, as 9 or more of SCP-XXXX will make the room too cold to be kept stable. When a new instance of SCP-XXXX is birthed, the eldest of SCP-XXXX in the containment area will be transferred to a seperate containment cell for testing.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a herd of 7 sheep, each with whitish-yellow fur and a large orifice surrounded by sharp spikes of ice where the face would normally be. Instances of SCP-XXXX do not require any more sustenance than 2-6 gallons of water a day (which will be automatically frozen upon entering SCP-XXXX's containment area) to survive. This water will be provided via Level 1 security clearance personnel.

Instances of SCP-XXXX will passively bring the temperature of the area around them to 0o Celsius or below at all times. It is unknown how this low temperature is generated. Instances of SCP-XXXX do not seem to be bothered by this lowered temperature.

Humans and other organisms, when entering the containment area of SCP-XXXX, will enter a state of accelerated hypothermia. After 3-5 minutes, the organism will begin to either enter a state of cryogenic freezing (75% chance) or death (25% chance). Animals with blubber and other insulatory adaptations have been known to survive in these temperatures.

Addendum 01: Instances of SCP-XXXX will now be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1

Addendum 02: Testing has determined that the sheep do not have a proper skeleton, but instead a skeleton made of ice. This ice seems to match the characteristics of regular bone. Starving any SCP-XXXX-1 of water will result in the degrading of this skeleton, and eventually the death of the creature after approximately 40 hours.

Addendum 03: Observation of SCP-XXXX via placing technology in the room is impossible due to the cold temperatures that SCP-XXXX-1 produces.

Addendum 04: All experiments on SCP-XXXX-1 are to be performed by D-Class personnel and logged in file XXXX-T.
