Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: Cassettes identified to be instances of SCP-XXXX are to be stored in the secure physical media archives within Site-73. All experimentation is to be cleared with Researcher Bell prior to testing due to the potential dangers and nature of SCP-XXXX's effects.
During testing avoid exposing instances of SCP-XXXX to any sources of strong magnetism or vibration. A Sony Walkman TPS-L2 cassette player and headphones are available for playback in observation room 2C of Site-73.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a collection of an estimated 5 10 40 ████ brand, audio cassette tapes. The tape is housed within a standard Type 1 plastic cassette casing with the corresponding iron oxide coated polyester-type plastic film within.
Several of the tapes were originally recovered from the home of a Mr & Mrs Jones following the investigation of a domestic homicide by police in ██████, South London. Mr Jones was a music producer and radio host who disappeared in 19██ after being accused of blackmailing Miss ███ Smith, a young musician. Found dead with grievous, self-inflicted wounds to her [REDACTED], blood loss due to internal bleeding is the leading cause of death. Miss Smith was subsequently found to be in the early stages of pregnancy. SCP-XXXX-1 was first recovered by police, still playing through a stereo in an adjacent room.
Upon playback of all SCP-XXXX instances, with the exception of 1 tape designated SCP-XXXX-1, listeners will hear a masculine voice, presumed to be Mr Jones. While individual cases have been found to vary dramatically in terms of content and duration, listeners will almost always eventually be addressed directly or indirectly by the speaker (henceforth referred to as Mr Jones). SCP-XXXX's anomalous qualities become apparent as Mr Jones begins to divulge the listeners personal secrets, these can include crimes, lies and deception or acts of perversion by the listener. Threatening to expose this information if certain demands are not met.
These demands follow no real recognizable pattern despite that of increasing levels of severity. Frequently beginning with simple instructions such as travelling to nearby locations or fetching common objects, developing into acts of violence and depravity. Seemingly context sensitive, Mr Jones will rarely request anything found to be literally impossible however self-mutilation and potentially fatal actions are not uncommon during the later stages of requests. Mr Jones has on several occasions during testing involving D-Class personnel, displayed awareness and knowledge of the Foundation and related activities.
On multiple occasions SCP-XXXX has been found to sample audio of events pertaining to the aforementioned secrets of the listener. These have taken the form of confessions, background audio of events, in one case audio from the murder of [REDACTED] over two decades ago by a D-Class test subject. It's unknown how SCP-XXXX acquires the information of the subjects or the audio of the events.
Addendum:
As a result of SCP-XXXX exposing critical security information to D-Class personnel, restricted information to lower clearance level Foundation employees and knowledge of ●●|●●●●●|●●|●, which it forced Dr ██████ to verbally discuss, all testing has been temporarily suspended.

Silent Hills (P.T) Radio Audio
These radio/audio files have multiple disturbing and creepy elements. These include the sterile and graphic descriptions of traumatic events in a way that could be considered unnerving. Later additions of static, disjointed interjections from another voice, comments aimed directly at the player character breaking the 4th wall, random sequences of numbers.
I'd like to include the elements of static, directly addressing the (in universe) audience, very sterile and unnerving descriptive language among potentially other things.

Paratopic Review Spoilers
Illegal video tapes that are smuggled to people, having an effect not too dissimilar to many illegal drugs in their quick forming addiction. Along with this the tapes frequently transform or seriously affect viewers. This can include unraveling reality for said person.
The concept of the tapes being addictive to humans in some way is an interesting concept. Having a sub-plot of smuggling or production of the tapes creates a believable way of distribution and creates a somewhat interesting dilemma for The Foundation to tackle. This creates a more diverse set of potential outcomes and situations as a result of the tape. Tapes could influence the recorded media etc.

Ringu 'Cursed' Tape
The Ring 'Cursed' Tape
Long duration shots on seemingly innocent subjects along with ambient noise creates a sense of unease. Contrasted with occasional sharp visual changes and sound clips of sometimes graphic content can be mildly shocking and unsettling. Strange visuals and symbols are at the same time however interesting and curiosity compels the viewer to keep watching.
In the films the tape causes viewers to die 7 days since their original viewing. This delay is interesting, it leaves time for things to affect other viewers, create a degree of hysteria if viewers are informed or find out about this concept. This delay can create a bit of intrigue, the time gap allows space for more testing or gradual changes which have the potential to be a little more nuanced and less linear.
SCP-1981 SCP

Multiple things make this SCP disturbing, the graphic bodily harm which goes unmentioned by Regan which in itself is very unnatural. The rambling speeches are again, odd and unnerving often being taboo. The figure that appears that seems to be aware of the viewer is disturbing on a different level. The strange nature of the SCP's acquisition.
I'd like to incorporate some similar elements into this SCP. Strange or unexplained procurement, potentially similar rambling and confusing contents with an underlying element of something being just a little or a lot wrong.
SCP-1733 SCP
SCP Article
Another anomalous digital artifact with no direct affect on the viewer but the contents of which being very disturbing but morbidly curious. It's nature as a recording allows strange and almost believable situations where they would otherwise be far too extreme to be convincing and therefore potentially uninteresting.
Again I think the element of repeated viewing allows for more nuance and interest. Effects manifesting over a longer period of time adds to the bizarre nature of the item.
Not sure if I like this list however It may be interesting information?
The audio on the tapes has been found to vary drastically in it's content, duration and quality. Examples of content and variance include:
- Mr Jones speaking directly to the listener
- Mr Jones presenting a news report, the subject and details contained being the information threatened to be revealed
- Random individual or sequences of spoken numbers spliced into the audio
- Audio of a woman crying in the background of Mr Jones' speech
- Static at varying level of severity and volume
- Heavy breathing
- Footsteps
- Background audio of the listeners current location from an estimated 10-20 meters away
