Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a safe inside a 5 meter by 5 meter by 5 meter room. The containment cell is secured with level 3 access. Anyone without level 3 clearance, that attempt to access SCP-XXXX, are to be administered class B amnesiacs.

In the event an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 breaks into SCP-XXXX's containment cell, the door is to be locked and all personnel within a twenty (20) meter radius from the geometrical center of the cell are to evacuate the immediate area. After SCP-XXXX-1 reaches 100 pages a recovery drone is to be sent into the chamber to retrieve the deceased person.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a blue hardcover book with the title "The Encyclopedia of Memory Loss." There is no citation anywhere on the book and it is absent from all library databases. Any human within a ten (10) meter radius of SCP-XXXX is strongly compelled to completely read through SCP-XXXX; these people are referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. Reading SCP-XXXX can cause mass amounts of brain damage to the person reading it. This includes memory loss, lack of reflexes, and permanent brain death. Under is a list of effects of SCP-XXXX and when they happen.

  • At twelve (12) pages, SCP-XXXX-1 will begin to lose knowledge of non-family members. They will also lose the ability to recognize family members by face.
  • At twenty-four (24) pages, SCP-XXXX-1 forgets common everyday phrases and loses all knowledge of any other humans existing. At this stage SCP-XXX-1 still retains knowledge of humanoid creatures.
  • At thirty-six (36) pages, SCP-XXXX-1 loses all knowledge above a 12th-grade educational level.
  • At fifty (50) pages, SCP-XXXX-1 loses all reactions to external stimuli. At this stage, SCP-XXXX-1 will tighten his grip on SCP-XXXX-1 to stronger than any human can possibly achieve. From this point onward it is nearly impossible to remove SCP-XXXX from SCP-XXXX-1.
  • At one hundred (100) pages, SCP-XXXX-1 loses all brain functions. At this stage, SCP-XXXX-1 is considered dead. The body of any person at this stage shows no anomalous effects.
