Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept inside a locked room measuring around 4m x 4m x 3m. SCP-XXXX should be kept far away from the entrance, placed on a small stand about the opposite side from the entrance, to prevent any person from experiencing the cognitive hazard effects of SCP-XXXX when they enter the containment cell. There are to be no interactions between SCP-XXXX and personnel unless testing is approved by two Level-3 researchers. All instances of SCP-XXXX-1, after exposure to SCP-XXXX, must be quarantined in a separate containment cell that is either to be experimented on, requiring the approval of two Level-3 Researchers or terminated immediately.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a hardcover vintage leather sketchbook and exactly measures out at 8.3” x 12”. Examination of SCP-XXXX shows minimal signs of wear and tear and discoloration of the pages which indict aging. The front and spine of the book are labeled with a writable sticker. The text written down on the writable stickers on the front and spine of the book reads, “dimenticare te stesso” and is written in a slovenly matter. The text on SCP-XXXX is identified as Italian and roughly translates to, “to forget yourself.” The text on the writable stickers are assumed to be in relation with the SCP-XXXX’s cognitive hazard that it poses to the reader.
Any subject that opens SCP-XXXX will view an accurate self-portrait, described being as a colored pencil sketch, of the subject that has opened up the vintage sketchbook book. Attempts to take photography or film of SCP-XXXX has failed, SCP-XXXX will only display blank pages on photographs and film. All subjects that have opened SCP-XXXX are to be considered instances of SCP-XXXX-1. If the subject proceeds on through the pages of SCP-XXXX, the subject will begin to see their self-portrait begin to degrade. The self-portrait of SCP-XXXX-1 will begin to lose or gain extra significant features such as eyes, teeth, lips, skin pigmentation, hair, and other features present in the self-portrait on the final page of SCP-XXXX. Flipping through the pages of SCP-XXXX will begin to induce dementia-like symptoms, causing the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 to forget significant details about their self-identity, environment, and also leave gaps in the memory of SCP-XXXX-1.
Questioning done after SCP-XXXX-1’s exposure to SCP-XXXX has shown that SCP-XXXX-1
is extremely distressed and paranoid, stating multiple times within lines of questioning that they do not understand who they are nor what situation they are in. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 have been discovered that their facial and head structure begins to transform over two days. It is hypothesized that the facial structure transformation is caused directly by SCP-XXXX and the face structure mimics the self-portrait from the final page of the sketchbook. SCP-XXXX-1 instances were accidentally discovered after D-32455, who at the time was supposed to undergo mental therapy and exams, had instantly attacked one of the security personnel, presented with the task of escorting D-32455, after the door to his cell had been opened. D-32455 was instantly terminated on the spot for having charged at the security member and when proceeding to pounce on him. Questions were immediately raised after D-32455’s facial and head structures had consisted of having no ears, one eye, two mouths, and three nostrils.
Experiments surrounding the instances of SCP-XXXX-1, in its fully developed form, have
found that SCP-XXXX-1 has been discovered to attack any instance of any biological lifeform. SCP-XXXX-1 when it’s not in contact with any living or dead lifeform will seem to remain standing up and stay dormant, as well as not needing to undergo any forms of nourishment or rest. SCP-XXXX-1 is also capable of using objects, albeit showing ineptitude with the object in hand, as weapons as observed between experiments between SCP-XXXX-1 and biological lifeforms. If SCP-XXXX-1 is successful in its attempt to kill the biological lifeform, SCP-XXXX-1 will attempt to decorate itself with the fluids, and organs covering its face. SCP-XXXX-1 also seems to use animal remains that itself that it has not killed to decorate itself. Researchers have hypothesized that SCP-XXXX-1 is attempting to create a sense of self-identity that was once lost with the encounter with SCP-XXXX. Further investigation and testing are required to have a grasp of understanding of the instance of SCP-XXXX-1.
+Addendum XXXX-1-1 Incident: Approximately after 48 hours after D-32455 had been exposed to the cognitive hazards of SCP-XXXX, D-32455 had been scheduled to undergo mental therapy and a series of cognitive tests to get a better understanding of the cognitive hazardous effects of SCP-XXXX on a human subject after being exposed to SCP-XXXX approximately 48 hours later. Fifteen minutes before the official mental examination and testing were to start, one security member was instructed to take D-32455 out his cell and to take him to the office of Senior Researcher Dr. Nowak. The security member had approached D-32455’s cell and proceeded to open the cell. D-32455, who was currently a fully transformed subject instance of SCP-XXXX-1, had proceeded to charge and pounce on the guard. Another security member stationed at the D-Class cells had noticed what had happened and began to fire upon D-32455. The instance of SCP-XXXX-1 was terminated within a few seconds after pouncing the security guard. From this incident, SCP-XXXX-1 was discovered, and shortly after a new protocol had been implemented were instances of SCP-XXXX-1 who did not fully transform were placed into containment cell for experimentation or to be terminated immediately and disposed of.
