[Object Class: Safe]
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3497 doesn't represent a direct threat, but could break the foundation's secrecy. prior to experiment 3497-1, SCP-3487 was kept in a location only known by the O5, in order to prevent any personnel to be affected by SCP-3487's memetic effect. SCP-3487 is currently supposedly kept by members of GOI-OS.
Description: SCP-3487 is a blank sheet of paper. It responds to every kind of damage like a normal sheet of paper, weighs a non-anomalous weight. Everything about SCP-3487 is extremely normal. However, it possesses one anomalous memetic effect : everyone that knows about SCP-3487, whether from a picture, a drawing, a description, or anything remotely connected to SCP-3487, will be convinced that there's something anomalous within SCP-3487, and will try to find it.
Subjects develop severe paranoïa, and will interact as little as possible with SCP-3487, in fear of triggering it's hidden effects, or destroying it. The effects can however be reversed if by any means, the subjects forgets about SCP-3487's existence. A dose of has shown to completely supress the effects on personnel that was only under SCP-3487's influence for a few weeks, but longer exposition can't be be definitively undone by mnetics. Only amnetics of class D or higher can reverse the effect at this point.
The only official study that has been done (and is ongoing) is experiment 3497-1.
The experiment consists in letting a researcher from site 145 access the document. As the one supervising this experiment, O5-6 made Dr. Deschamps (a site researcher in reality-altering phenomenons) aware of SCP-3487, and made believe that they both had to study the object without the O5's knowledge.
The awareness of the object then supposedly spread to other site personnels, intentionally or not, who started studying it, thus creating GOI-OS.
GOI-OS's inner mechanics aren't really easy to keep track of, because there's none : no one knows who exactly knows what about SCP-3487 within the group.
Interestingly enough, this sort of situation should lead to researchers bumping into each other, or fighting over who gets to "experiment" with SCP-3487, but it never seemed to have happened, even though the members of GOI-OS have no known way to coordinate their actions. SCP-3487 seems to have some sort of control over this will to research it, which leads to every research personnel being coordinated without knowing it. Procedure to confirm this theory is being developed.
O5-6 asked Dr. Deschamps to have every research log sent to a crypted adress, which received over ███gb of text describing how it behaved in certain circumpstances, and ████hours of video of SCP-3487, almost always filmed with a low quality webcam, and almost always in a personnel locker, but never the same one twice.
Dr. Deschamps himself submitted a file about SCP-3487 3, weeks before ending his life.
