Item #: SCP-4373
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP 4373 is to be kept in a locked anomalous item container. Level 2 clearance required to access 4373, any none authorized personnel who come into contact with 4373 are subject to disciplinary action or termination.
Description: 4373 is a large pink crystal weighing 3 kilograms. It is comprised of a type of rose quartz that is semi-translucent. It has the ability to link with a holder on physical contact. It is able to stay linked within a two-meter radius of the holder. This link allows the crystal to transform into any object the holder thinks of. A few stipulations apply, the holder must know how the object they are thinking of works, for risk of hurting them and those around them. This is because 4373 is liable to the explosion if the object is not fully understood. See addendum 4373-i1 and addendum 4374-i2. The object created from 4373 behaves like it would if it were made of the original material. The mass of the object is limited to 10 times the weight of the crystal.
Addendum:
Addendum:4374-i1 D-98389 was instructed to create a pine cone from memory. As 4373 was transforming a sudden crack and crystal shrapnel erupted from the crystal. D-98389 was killed. The crystal reformed exactly 345 seconds after the failure.
Addendum:4373-i2 Dr. Miles requested access to 4273, granted. He attempted to create a scale from 4373. It was a success and the resulting item with sharp as a blade of obsidian. However, after this success, it was determined too dangerous for field use.
Addendum:4373-i3 D-67397 was instructed to create an item that he understood. The crystal glowed briefly before turning into an m1911 handgun. The subject then committed suicide using 4373. With this incident the testing was restricted to level 2 class personnel with a stable mind. It is not known at this point if he committed suicide due to his own will or by the objects. It was later discovered that D-67397 was a gunsmith and he had suicidal depression. Further testing required.
