Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a standard non-sentient low-security cell in wing ███ of Site ████. Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, the containment chamber is not to be entered or utilized by any staff member or tester under level 3 clearance.

+ ARCHIVED DESCRIPTION CLEARANCE 3/XXXX

Description: SCP-XXXX is a stone statue with a white crystal (Testing identified the crystal is composed of 25% Quartz, and 75% an unknown material) embedded in its forehead, sitting on a pedestal with a bowl near its base. The statue is roughly 1 meter in height, 3 meters wide at its base. SCP-XXXX's effect is activated whenever any amount of gold exceeding 9 Kg enters the bowl. The gold placed in the bowl will melt (Thermometers reveal that the metal remains at room temperature during this procedure) and flow through channels carved into the statue. After approximately 12 hours, the gold will reach the crystal and be absorbed by it. Approximately 12 hours after the crystal absorbs the gold, the person who has placed the gold in the bowl (Hereby designated SCP-XXXX-1) will experience "Good luck". This manifests as a ██% success rate in activities based on random results¹

Special Containment Procedures: Wing ███ is to be kept locked at all times, and guarded by a minimum of 2 security guards. Wing ███ is never to be entered by any staff under any circumstance. Due to the newly manifested anomaly, SCP-XXXX cannot be interacted with by any organic matter. Recovery has proven to be difficult, as no staff can interact with the object. Any staff attempting to enter Wing ███ are to be detained, questioned, and disciplined.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a stone statue that used to have a white crystal embedded in its head. Testing identified the crystal to be composed of 25% Quartz, and 75% unknown materiel. The statue is placed on a pedestal with a bowl at its feet. The statue is roughly 1 meter in height, 3 meters wide at its base. SCP-XXXX's effect is activated whenever any organic matter enters former Containment Wing ███. Whenever any organic matter enters Wing ███, it will be converted into gold. Any non-organic matter within Wing ███ is unaffected by the anomaly.

+ LEVEL 2/XXXX CLEARANCE ONLY

Document-XXXX-0 is a ████ brand notebook, slightly water damaged and torn at the edges of the cover. The notebook contains the notes of Dr.███████,²
who was exploring a cave with his research team when they found SCP-XXXX. The original point of discovery was found and covered up as an ancient ruin of an unknown civilization. The log is missing the majority of its pages, however, approximately 13 pages are intact.

+ LEVEL 2/XXXX CLEARANCE ONLY

Log 160: I found a statue today. It's amazing. We suspect it to be some sort of ancient scale. Testing begins tomorrow. So excited!
Log 167: Upon testing it thoroughly, it seems to absorb gold, and give the person who placed the gold in the bowl some sort of "luck". We may have found real evidence of an ancient civilization practicing magic! Groundbreaking work, here I come!
MEMO TO THE RESEARCH TEAM: It has come to my attention that some of us in the research > group do not wish to use the statues effects. While I understand your concern, please be aware that it has been thoroughly tested, and it has predictable effects. Also, understand that refusing orders from command is punishable by demotion and removal from the team. The decision for us to use the statue was voted on by the majority, and we chose to.
Log 170: We went further into the cave, and came upon a collapse. Excavation has been deemed safe, and we should be able to move past it tomorrow.
Log 173: We keep finding skeletons. The ones here seem relatively… "fresh" as far as skeletons go. They have rifles. Modern ones. I'm not a gun person, so I'm guessing.
Log 176:The cave stinks. We don't know why, but the deeper we go the worse it gets.
Log 180: We hit the end. there is a pile of bodies, guns, all sorts of things. From what data we > have gathered, it seems that they were a research team just like us. They got trapped by the cave collapse and turned on each other.
Log 184: The cave collapsed behind us today. Too tired to write more.
Log 186: We found a village today. Food, aside from some other supplies. The dead team set up here, and we are going to as well.
Log 190: We had to kill █████ today. He tried to eat ███. We ran out of food, and the excavation efforts have failed. ████ says that if we try to get through, we might destroy the entire cave.

Addendum: SCP-XXXX was first discovered when the research team failed to respond to any communication from the surface. A rescue team was dispatched and recovered the materials. Foundation elements seized both the notes and the statue after members of the rescue team witnessed the anomalous effects. Amnestics were distributed and the members of the rescue team were sent back with the mission covered up as a failure.

INCIDENT: ██,██,07: Site ███'s containment wing ███ is currently under lockdown. Do not enter containment wing ███. SCP-XXXX has exhibited a previously unknown anomaly affecting all organic matter. No staff are to approach containment wing ███. Security is to set up a checkpoint, and containment procedures are to be updated accordingly.

+ LEVEL 3/XXXX CLEARANCE ONLY - TESTING LOG

Test 1 -██,██,06

Subject: Dr. ████
Procedure: Dr. ████ will place 10 kg of gold in the bowl. The effect should activate. Dr. ████ designated SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 is told to "Think of a number between one and ten." SCP-XXXX-1 is blindfolded. A program is run to generate a random number. SCP-XXXX-1 guesses number. The number generator finishes, results are compiled.
Results: Effect triggered, SCP-XXXX-1 guesses the correct number
Analysis: Effect proven to give "luck" to SCP-XXXX-1, in accordance with the previous examples.

Test 2-██,██,06

Subject: Dr. █████
Procedure: A random number generation program will generate a number between one and ten. Dr. ████ is to guess the number after placing 2Kg gold in the bowl.
Results: The program generates a number. SCP-XXXX-1 guesses wrong.
Analysis: Effect triggers only when the gold is in excess of 9 kg of gold.

Test 3 - ██,██,06 UNPLANNED TEST

Subject: Dr.█████, previous subject.
Procedure: Dr.█████ entered the New Year ticket raffle in site-███
Results: Dr.█████'s tickets were drawn on every basket. Redraws resulted in Dr. █████'s tickets being drawn. After the New Year, testing yielded no remaining anomalous effects.
Analysis: Effect wears off after a year
