Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 1 by 1 meter glass cube. The glass cube is consisted of 6 glass panels precisely 10 centimeters thick. The panels are secured by four steel bolts on each corner. The cube is bolted to a steel pedestal for easier view while in containment. Cameras are placed diagonally on each corner of the containment room. At least one Foundation member must be surveilling SCP-XXXX for any undocumented behavior.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a book, 16 centimeters in width, 24 in length. Radiocarbon dating has been proven inefficient to determine the age of the book, but it appears to be around 200-400 years old. The book's cover is made of a dark brown leather with what are presumed to be scratch marks, and is stained with an unidentifiable adhesive substance. Substance has no damaging effect to human tissue. Foundation personnel have attempted to sanitize the book's cover, but the substance will "regenerate" within a few seconds afterward. The book has 800 pages of an unrecognizable written language, which no one as of now has been able to decipher.
SCP-XXXX will only react unless the page is seen directly, anyone that views a page through camera will not be affected. Test subjects have claimed to be able to read the language on the pages, although it is impossible for Foundation personnel to read the book through a camera. When the subjects were asked to read out the page they would go unconscious for approximately █-██ seconds.
SCP-XXXX reacts differently for every single page of the book that is viewed. Some of the outcomes are fatal to the page viewer. There are 796 unknown outcomes as only 4 tests have been carried out. Testing was discontinued after the results of the final test, although Site Director █████ ██████ stated that further testing could be a possibility.
