A standard empty 10x10m containment cell will be used if testing were to occur. No more than one (1) person will be used for testing, should you require more, contact Dr. Karl.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a stone sculpture depicting a wounded cow, likely deceased. The age of SCP-XXXX is estimated to be around 2000-3000 years old however signs of deterioration are not present anywhere on XXXX's outer layers.

Scanning of SCP-XXXX has concluded that the item is indeed hollow. SCP-XXXX produces a low hum, estimated to be around 10-20 dB depending on the time of day.

Physical contact with SCP-XXXX will activate the anomalous effects of the item. The item breaks down cellular walls of any multicellular organisms. Tests have shown the range of this effect to be from fly to elephant, no upper limit has been found. After exposure, subjects have reported nausea, sickness and stomach aches after initial minutes. This is a short lasting effect that ends 30 minutes after exposure.

Symptoms (details below):

Time Effects
30 (thirty) minutes stomach aches, head pain
3 (three) hours aching bones, anxious feeling
6 (six) hours failure of all major organs
1 (one) week absent-minded, extrerior rot begins
2 (two) weeks decay, rot and failure of all exterior organs, death/coma

During the 3rd hour after exposure subjects will likely seek medical attention, reports of a fearful and anxious feeling or aching bones are not uncommon. Cases of spasm and irregular heartbeats have also been reported but are more unlikely to occur.

6-7 hours after exposure: At this point, all major organs have been broken down and turned to sand. Analysis of the sand has proven it to be Egyptian in origin, likely originating from the Sinai Peninsula.

Most of the subjects vital functions appear functional from an outside perspective until the second week after exposure. Outside functions such as eyes, ears, nose, skin, and mouth will all operate as normal, no change is noticeable on first viewing of subjects.

After the passing of the first week, the subject will appear more absent-minded. The process of rotting exterior organs beings approximate 10 days after initial exposure. Photo-receptor organs of the subject are the first to rot away.

The remains of which have been described as a "black goo" (SCP-XXXX-1) with liquid and solid properties. The subject will not be able to see at this point and will be severely in pain, as expected.

SCP-XXXX-1 is a dark liquid substance sharing numerous traits with smudge and saliva. Studies have concluded that SCP-XXXX-1 is venomous. to other living organisms, except for the subject experiencing effects of SCP-XXXX.

Touching SCP-XXXX-1 will leave victims in a state of unconscious. Being in the vicinity of SCP-XXXX-1 does not yield the same results as physical contact. SCP-XXXX-1 is to be contained as soon as possible to avoid causalities.

Although all major organs have decomposed the subject will still carry on as if nothing had happened. Surprisingly all bodily systems work as intended until nose and mouth rot away.

During the end of the first week will the mouth and nose decay away, leaving behind only the previously mentioned black goo and holes where the organs used to be. Subjects are recommended to be put in a state of coma after the disappearance of the nose and mouth, this will slow the process hindering the death of the subject.

However, continuing without a coma will lead to the ears and finally the brain rotting. This results in the collapse of the subject's nerve system and all major vital functions, rendering the subject dead in most cases. However, attempts to revive subjects have been successful.

Touching SCP-XXXX with either gloves, gauntlets or baking mitts have proved to yield the same results as touching the item with bare hands. additionally, fur yields the same effect.

SCP-XXXX was discovered by explorer, Adam Gunnes on the 19th of May 1994 in the tomb of King ████████. Adam had been exploring ancient Egyptian ruins and stumbled on a sarcophagus which Gunnes examined. SCP-XXXX was part of what was found around the sarcophagus. The Foundation was altered when Adam had been hospitalized under mysterious circumstances only a week after the exploration (see Interview-1)

Agents retrieving the body noted the smell of dust and rotting flesh. The body was burned later as for security reasons. The Foundation found out eventually that Gunnes had been exploring an Egyptian tomb. Three agents were sent to said tomb to retrive the item. SCP-XXXX was found in the same tomb after one of the agents reported stomach pains after touching the item. Resulting in the death of Agent Peter Jackson

<Interview-1>

<Begin Log,>

Frankson: Hello, Adam. Would be so kind to tell me how you came into contact with SCP-XXXX

Adam: It all started when I heard the rumors of a tomb full of treasure close to where I was staying, naturally my curiosity got the best of me and I ended up exploring it.

Frankson: Now what did you discover inside the tomb?

Adam: Well, you've already taken it all but there was a load of things <pause> I remember the sarcophagus, the hieroglyphics and there was a chest with the cow in it.

Frankson: What cow? Can you describe it? Did you touch it?

Adam: Yeah, I touched it. It was heavy and it made this noise that I somewhat heard, but not really.

Frankson: So low-pitched noise?

Adam: Yes, more like a hum.

Frankson: That wraps up the interview, although we have something we need to tell you.

Closing Statement: Agent Frankson goes on to explain what will likely (and what did eventually) happen to the subject

Frankson: Rotaro, you have to help me! He's talking to me!

Agent Frankson is clearly in distress, albeit sitting

Rotaro: Calm down, Frankson. Who is talking to you?

Frankson: I don't know who! He seems to be <pause> important, like a ruler or a king of some sort?

Rotaro: Go on, please.

Frankson: He's toying with me, he made me touch the fucking cow! He's talking to me, every waking hour!

Rotaro: He made you touch it? What did he tell you?

Frankson: <long pause>

Agent Frankson is sweating, out of breath and is laying head first down on the table

Frankson: He told me it would make my life better, help me cope with the of ██████.

Rotaro: Ah, he convinced you? Even though you knew it was dangerous?

Frankson: That's right. I regret it, I shouldn't have listened!

Closing Statement:// Agent Frankson is escorted out of the room and placed in quarantine under medical care.//

Addendum: Researchers inside the tomb of King ████████ observed hieroglyphics depicting what appeared to be King ████████ succumbing to "black magic" locally named "Heka". The reason for which is currently unknown and is thought to be anomalous in nature. The king is depicted surrounded by herds of animals during his death ceremony. (also pictured on the hieroglyphics)
