Item #: SCP 5083
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5083 is to be monitored by Foundation staff every hour of every day. All non-Foundation members exposed to SCP-5083 are to be amnesticized, and all web traffic is to be monitored for any information on SCP-5083. If any non-Foundation related information on SCP-5083 is discovered, it is to be deleted or destroyed as soon as possible. No Foundation member is allowed to enter SCP-5083 during the day unless they are given specific written consent from an on-site Administrator. No night expeditions are allowed without specific written consent from a Foundation member with level 4 clearance or above. With all expeditions into SCP-5083, the entry doorway must remain open at all time, and Foundation members that are inside are encouraged to stay close towards the entryway.
Description: SCP-5083 appears to be an abandoned church with its windows boarded up. It is located in the woods of <REDACTED> in California, USA. SCP-5083 has what the Foundation has determined as time bending properties, but only in relation to SCP-5083, as nothing outside of SCP-5083 has shown signs of being affected by it. Only the inside of SCP-5083 seems to be affected by its time warping properties.
Upon entrance of SCP-5083, its interior changes from day to day, seemingly at random. The interior of the church has not been observed to change whilst any Foundation member was inside, and the reason for this change has not been discovered. This change seems to have no effect on the inner workings of SCP-5083.
SCP-5083 is not fatal to enter during the day. Time passes normally during daytime, but the interior of SCP-5083 seems to expand beyond the capabilities of its structure. Hallways in SCP-5083 have been measured to be 200 meters in length, and it is easy to get trapped in SCP-5083, as with every room that a subject enters, the previous room that a subject was in can change in size, shape, or simply not be there at all (in those cases the doorway will be blocked by a wall).
However, SCP-5083 is considered fatal during the night. Between the hours of 18:43 and 6:24 of the next day, time will always pass differently inside of SCP-5083, and recovered personnel that participated in Test-5083-1-A have stated it took about 2.34 hours for the entire night to end, while recovered personnel from Incident-5083-1-A have stated that it felt months. See Test Log-5083-1-A and Incident-5083-1-A for additional information.
It seems that the with more people that are inside SCP-5083 at night, the longer the night lasts, with the opposite occurring with fewer people. Not only this, but the longer that a subject stays inside SCP-5083, the more a subject begins to show signs of SCP-5083-1.
Addendum 5083-1:
SCP-5083-1 is the designation of the long term effects of a subject that stays inside SCP-5083. This process, while not similar to it, has been dubbed “digestion.” Those that have experienced or are experiencing this transition are designated as SCP-5083-A. SCP-5083-A have extremely long arms and legs, as well as becoming extremely thin to the point of malnourishment. This appearance is striking similar to the appearance of SCP-096, but there is no correlation between the two. SCP-5083-A is human. Upon creation, SCP-5083-A will seek out any living being and attempt to either kill it or eat it, with there being no real reason as to why. It seems that upon autopsy of a terminated SCP-5083-A, it was determined that it had no organs, not even a brain. See Incident-5083-A-1-A for more information. It also appears that SCP-5083-A has no ability to live outside of the church, as, when it leaves, it falls to the ground, seemingly to die, although it is suspected that SCP-5083-A isn’t alive in the first place. See Incident-5083-A-2-A for more information.
_Test-5083-1-A —- 10/12/2019__
Subject: Foundation Researcher Adams and two armed personnel.
Procedure: Researcher Adams is to enter SCP-5083 and document any activity during the night. Researcher Adams is to be accompanied by two armed Foundation personnel. If there is an instance of SCP-5083-1 occurring, all three subjects are to radio in to the on-site Administrator Brian for immediate extraction. All subjects have permission to fire upon any SCP-5083-A. Researcher Adams is to document the processes that occur within SCP-5083, as well as document how long they are inside of SCP-5083. They are to be inside for only one night relative to the time outside of SCP-5083, and they are not to explore any part of SCP-5083 besides its entrance. The door of SCP-5083 is to remain shut but unlocked.
Results: After around 10.4 days spent inside of SCP-5083, one of the armed personnel began to experience SCP-5083-1. The guard, now designated SCP-5083-1-A, claimed to not feel any pain, nor feel any of the effects. Effects at this point were minimal, with slight elongation of the appendages and slight darkening around the eyes and mouth. When they attempted to leave, the door was locked. Outside contact was attempted, but no signal reached outside of SCP-5083. While the three subjects were sent in with enough food for three (3) days, none of the food had been eaten, and none of the subjects had gone hungry, nor did any of them feel the need to urinate, defecate, or sleep.
After 28 days, SCP-5083-1-A, had now finished his "spaghettification" period, and did not respond to any of his changes. SCP-5083-1-A's eyes and mouth were completely black, and it retained little sentience, with it only responding to physical stimuli. All subjects still found no need to use any bodily functions, and although none of them had slept since they had entered, they were not tired.
After 30 days, SCP-5083-1-A became angry and attacked Researcher Adams, picking her up and chocking her. Luckily, her guard was quick to react and terminated SCP-5083-1-A. Afterwards, Adams redesignated SCP-5083-1-A as SCP-5083-A-N. Around five (5) minutes after this encounter, Foundation personnel opened the door to SCP-5083. Researcher Adams and her guard did not retain the effects of SCP-5083 when they returned to the outside of it, their bodies simply picked up where they left off. SCP-5083-A-N was extracted from SCP-5083 and will be tested on in the future.
Conclusion: SCP-5083 is not to be entered at night. Any nightly visits to SCP-5083 are to be done with its door ajar. It is unclear whether SCP-5083 is malevolent, but it should be noted that its effects are highly dangerous.
