SCP-4693 “the elephants foot” object class Special Containment Procedures: The mass of toxic waste deemed "The Elephant's Foot" is located at the lowest basement in Unit 4 of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, in Ukraine. Due to the high radioactivity of the object, absolutely no persons are allowed within ten meters of the object without proper gear. Approximately every year, no more than four members of MTF Unit Zeta-71 are to examine the radioactivity of the object using standard machinery. They must wear heavy duty radiation protected suits covering every inch of the MTF member in order to ensure no of no casualties. Members of the public are permitted to enter the perimiter but must have approval from the Ukrainian Government and Chief Researcher ██████. Members of the public are required to wear proper gear when touring the plant. They are not permitted to interfere with construction nor travel to the reactor room and the basements. At no time should persons touring the plant be without a member of the security staff supervising them. SCP-4693 is a mass of nuclear waste, concrete, a variety of metals, and portions of the reactor in which the object originated from. The object measures approximately two meters in width at its greatest point. The obiect is described as appearing orange in color. This is likely due to the large amounts of nuclear material mixed with metals which have been left in place for many years. The mass of material produces about 10,000 roentgens per hour. This dosage is enough to kill a human in approximately three hundred seconds. The mass has been determined to decrease in radioactivity slightly every few years but remains a major threat due to the high radioactivity. If a member of MTF Unit Zeta-71 is affected by SCP-4693 then the affected person will from there on out be referred to as SCP-4693-1. If affected by SCP-4693 the affects of the exposure to SCP-4693 will begin to increase in heart rate as breathing rates increase. Along with severe radiation burns and hallucinations of shadow figures whispering loudly into SCP-4693-1’s ears, though no one around the affected person(s) can hear or see the figures other than the affected individuals. Not long after SCP-4693-1 will begin to vomit and they will Feel horrible pain throughout their body. Shortly after SCP-4693-1’s skin will begin to fall off along with Organ failure, and followed by thoughts of committing suicide. Deaths caused by SCP-4693 will be cleared out of the basement of Chernobyl. No known treatment for SCP-4693’s effects have been discovered. Typical effects of radiation sickness include radiation burns, vomiting, cell hemorrhage, and potential cancer. But the effects of SCP-4693 although similar, are vastly different, The biggest differences being extreme hallucinations and thoughts of suicide. Because the effects of SCP-4693 are of unknown origin, there are no known cures for the effects produced by SCP-4693. All methods of removing SCP-4693 have resulted in either failure or death due to the extreme effects of SCP-4693.
