Special Containment Procedures: Upon the report of any activity that suggests a SCP 5987 has or is occurring, Task Force Agents are to isolate the affected area and prevent any civilian interaction with the event. Any personnel tasked with entering the affected area must undergo Class V preparation measures. Before any research can ensue, the area is to be searched for any possible survivors of the event. Any survivors found are to be tested and assessed then properly treated by Level 3 Agents.

Description: SCP 5987 is a rare phenomenon that occurs for a period of time¹ over an area. When this event is occurs, the phenomenon appears to "isolate" the area, using methods that range from erasing all memories of that area to creating a mist that corrodes the flesh of any organic substance that crosses it. These methods cease upon the completion of the event. All changes occurred by SCP 5987 are inconsistent and results in the aftermath of the event to differ from each other. Although the aftermath of the phenomenon drastically differ upon each occurrence, a consistent discovery found in or near the affected area is a triangle-like figure, now recorded as SCP 5987-1, either etched or marked onto an object².

Location of SCP 5987-1: The exact center of the neighborhood
Effects of SCP 5987: Exactly twenty-five statues appeared of equal appearance around SCP 5987-1. Each statue appears ancient and eroded and has its arms raised in the air.
Survivors: None

Area: Abandoned Office Building
Length of SCP 5987: 3 weeks
Method of Isolation: A meter thick barrier composed of Iron encapsulated the building
Location of SCP 5987-1: On a tree 125 feet southwest of the building
Effects of SCP 5987: Every interior wall of the building appears to have transformed into a substance comprised of human muscle tissue, cartilage from various woodland mammals, and the intestinal tract of what appears to be a deer. A 125 foot hole through the ground is located in the Southwest corner of the building, which at the bottom lies a human skeleton.
Survivors: Two female adults who appear to be exact copies of each other. They refuse to speak of the incident. After 3 weeks of the event, both of them were found dead. No evidence of how they died were found.

Location of SCP 5987-1: Only trace of the sign was on the deformed face of a victim
Effects: The body of a male teen was found in the forest. His face was mutated to the point where the only feature on it was a mark resembling SCP 5987-1.
Survivor: One teenage male.
