Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard combination safe. All VCRs within close proximity are to be kept in storage lockers.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a “sold-as-blank” VHS tape. Its box art depicts an abstract sunrise or sunset, with a “SUNSOFT” company logo emblazoned in the foreground.

Upon being inserted into a VCR, SCP-XXXX will display footage of random acts of violence. A timestamp on the bottom-left corner of the footage indicates that each incident takes place in reverse chronological order, beginning some time in the near future. Upon completion of the footage, SCP-XXXX will rewind and eject itself from the VCR. This process cannot be interrupted or reversed.

SCP-XXXX’s footage changes on repeat viewings and further testing shows that the tape cannot be erased or recorded over.

A red 2019 Honda Civic approaches a two-storey house with a gay pride flag hanging in the living room window.

Three individuals exit the car and one of them places a storage bin onto the front lawn. The individuals bend over and remove large rocks from the bin. They proceed to throw the rocks at the house while shouting homophobic slurs at the occupants.

One of the rocks smashes through the living room window, tearing a hole into the flag. The individuals rush back into the car and speed off, leaving the bin behind.

An empty commercial kitchen. After approximately 10 seconds, the stove catches fire and begins to spread throughout the kitchen. Loud thumping and cries for help are heard offscreen.

The video cuts to a breakroom where the fire spreads further. The thumping and crying appear to be coming from a restroom to the right. An individual breaks through the restroom door and starts to scream, having already caught fire.

By the end of the clip, the individual’s charred body collapses to the ground and the screaming comes to a stop.

A middle-aged man and woman are holding hands at the zoo, overlooking a lion enclosure. The two lions are sleeping and the man and woman begin to horseplay. Eventually, the woman leans backwards over the railing and falls into the enclosure, waking up the lions.

The lions begin to close in, and the man jumps in after the woman, boosting her up out of the enclosure. The man tells the woman to get help and she runs off. The man begins to panic and backs away into the corner of the enclosure.

The two lions roar and pounce on the man. After a brief struggle, the lions grab the man’s unconscious body with their maws and bisect him at the waist.

The lions begin to feed on his innards.

A silver 2014 Toyota Matrix tailgates a white 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck along a freeway. Strapped to the back of the truck is a dozen 10-foot metal rods.

The truck picks up speed and the Matrix follows suit. The truck appears to drive over a pothole and one of the straps breaks loose. The poles fly out the back and clang along the road. One of the poles, however, launches through the Matrix’s windshield.

Both cars swerve, but the Matrix tumbles over. A pool of blood and glass emerges from the driver’s side of the Matrix.

The video cuts to the inside of the Matrix, where the pole has impaled the driver through the skull.

Addendum XXXX.2: The following is a letter to Maintenance found at Site-15 on February 11, 2020.

Maintenance,

FIX THE GODDAMN SPRINKLER SYSTEM IN THE KITCHEN.

This is the third time we’ve asked you guys, and we’re f***ing sick of it. It poses a great safety risk for our cooks and the rest of the facility in general.
