I'm camping in the barracks inside the city. I can hear bombs from the distance. We ordered civilians to head to the camps for safety. We told them we provided them electricity, food, water, all the essentials. Some agreed, others dint. Some made theories that were gonna kill them or place them into concentration camps. That's not true. Never in the case, we thought about that or even try to do it. Were just trying to provide them with any kind of aid.
While scouting the city with my group, we found a mother and daughter at a subway station. The daughter was mumbling to herself while the mother was holding a gun pointing at us. She begs us to leave her alone and to go away. One of my pals, Charles, always put his rifle on safety. Now his rifle is on semi. We keep telling her to lower her gun and that we will take her to the Evac Zone. She kept saying the same thing, "Leave us alone". We kept telling her to lower her gun. Suddenly she shot James at the chest and then Charles shot back at her. We called in a transport car and some medical aid. Both the mom and James were able to get a full recovery, what will they do to the daughter… I don't know. Thankfully we're not like those ICE Workers that separates the family.
Tomorrow I'm being issued into the frontlines. Heard a lot of people died there, mostly US troops. The plan right now is to occupy the Mississippi river and to push back U.S. troops without killing any civilians. Seems simple enough, the problem is the reputation we have. We already invaded the Eastern Part and now people are looking at us with fear and anger, saying we ruin the statue. But I and other recruits just ignore it.
We made it to Illinois in just over a week by plane. We landed on a civilian airstrip, including other planes too carrying our allies and cargo. I was put inside a covered truck with an HMG on front. We were heading to the Frontlines. While the truck was about to move a private started running towards the truck begging it to stop. The other troops start calling out to him, "Run", "You can make it", "Almost there"!. The private started running faster and soon raised her hand for the other troops to grab him. I joined the party to grab her too and pull him up to the truck before speeding off.
The private thank the other troops for helping him because he was supposed to be in this transport. She sited, breathing heavily. One guy pated on her on the back for great stamina skills and luck. I don't know we have luck inside of us, or not, but we just have to keep moving. That thought was interrupted by a large explosion.
The truck suddenly stopped until another explosion occurred close. We were being shot. We all stepped out of the truck before the machine gun turrets start picking at the truck. We were right next to an outside mall where a group of US Cars blocked the road. We took cover behind some cars and attempt to bomb the blockade. Thankfully one of us had an orange flare. One of us, Dan ran threw the flare onto the blockade while we cover for him. Soon enough Dan throws himself behind a car before a bombardment of artillery hit the blockade. Soon enough reinforcements came out of the alleyways to provide support. If it wasn't for Dan and his flare, we wouldn't become a blood bath.

Were near the Mississippi River. Cara still mourning for her sister's death after the incident. At least she saved someone's life from the bombing. We tried to comfort Cara but she's still sad.
We arrived in a town where a few other groups were camping. They already set up tents near the exit of the city so we did the same thing. James thought we go out to the bar to get some drinks. Some of us agreed thinking maybe one day we can relax while others disagreed believing that they should stay in the tents. At the end I went with James and a few others to get a drink while the rest stayed at the camps, waiting until the next day.
When we arrived at the city most of the building were closed or left empty. I saw a teenager locking up a local store. I came up to him saying "Why are the buildings all empty"? He replied, "Most of the townsfolk, including the school are already leaving the town. There going west for safety as said by radio and the EBS. My family is already packing up the bags and ready to move out by tomorrow morning". He soon walks past by me with the keys to the shop. I soon catch up with my friends.
We arrived at a local bar named 'Joes'. When we came in most of the bar is empty. There were only one bartender and two cops. When we opened the doors the whole bar went silent. The two cops stared at us and the bartender glared at us. We came in, took our seats and James ask whats the menu. The bartender looked at us with a suspicious face. He said "We have a regular beer, Moscow Mule, Corona, Stella, IBC Root beer, and Coors". James asked for a Moscow Mule, I took IBC and the rest just got a regular beer. James did pay the bartender, however, he looked at the coins strangely. "Is this real?" he asked. "Yes," said James. "Let me look at it," said one of the officers finishing his drink. The officer took out a small magnet and place one of the coins on it, thus sticking it. He soon gave the coin to the bartender saying "Yeah it's real. How much is it, I don't know". Soon one the soldiers with the glasses, Jasey, said that one coin is worth at least dollar fifty in USD. The bartender took the coins and said "I guess you paid it. Hope I can scrap them".
We all finished our drinks and left a tip. Before we left, the bartender asked a question. Charles with his military cap said "Yes"? "Why do some of you look identical and are all female?" Charles replied saying "We may look the same, but we have our own families." We soon walked out of the bar and head back to the camps.
While walking on the paved roads we spotted a white transport truck that stop in the far distance. From our binoculars, they seemed armed. Charles said we should ambush the transport to prevent the enemy from attacking us in the back. James said it may be too lethal. Quickly we all agreed to ambush it. We hide in the tall grass and started crawling to the road. We soon started shooting at the guards and we were able to take down two with no injuries.
Mysteriously, the two guards we shot were not like the other troops. Instead of wearing Green uniforms or Desert Camos, they were wearing dark blue uniforms with a weird insignia that had three arrows poting inwards. We also found two other workers who surrendered in fear of dying. James took them for questioning while we attempted to open the cargo. The cargo was also white and had no logo or name beside saying the number '811'. Cara used a blowtorch to open the cargo only to find a mysterious green creature at the end of the truck. She was scared and for some reason full of mucus. One of the workers said to leave her alone in fear of them dying. We asked the woman for her name but said nothing. James got one of the workers to make her talk.
The worker soon got the woman to get out of the truck. We soon found out her name is 'A' or 'Ai', I just call her A. The worker explained she is a very hostile anomaly. Charles looked at him and said "You got two options. One, you can come with us and live, or two, run and we shoot you. Either way, she's coming with us". Of course, the worker pick, yes and we took both workers and A with us while we try to reach the front lines.
While walking, A became somewhat sick and one of the workers told us to stay back. She soon vomits on the ground in which some of the vomit got on Cara. She said it started to burn her skin and when Jasey roll of her sleeve we found out it was causing some bacterial infection on her skin. Of course, Jasey was able to stop the infection and heal her skin. Jasey covered the wound with bandages while A stared at the wound. Afterward, we continued walking until we reach a rest stop where we camp for the night. Workers insisted on sleeping in the gas station and when asked why they looked at A. We all looked at A who was staring at the sky with stars and attempting to catch fireflies with her hands. Charles said fine but had James keep an eye on them and to place his gun on Semi rather than safe. We had Asleep with Cara in her tent since we dint have any spare tents for her. I'm resting for the night and hoping those workers don't do any funny business or anything else.
We woke up in the dead of night to hear gunshots in the gas station. We found James shot in the arm and the workers found missing. While Jasey was taking the bullet off, James said the workers took his gun and runoff. While trying to understand the issue, A was behind Cara and when she saw the blood and rush back to the tent. Cara chases her back.
At morning we move out and thankfully Cara was able to find A. She tried asking A what her issue but the only response she got was bits of sobbing and heavy breathing. We pack our stuff and started heading West. We were close to the front lines, possibly two days away from the maps. While walking Cara fed A some MRE food however A had a hard time opening the wrappers and whatnot. A always seemed confused about everything around her. The workers could have explained why shes like this, but they left.
We soon arrived at another city, this time the city looked like they were bombed. Jasey took a look at one of the destroyed buildings and said that the buildings were destroyed by artillery. We knew that our army dint bombed the city because then there will be US troops, vehicles, supplies but we found none. Charles theorizes that the city was bombed by the enemy, possibly as a way to surround us in the back. I noticed A was looking at the buildings with confusion until she started digging up through the dirt and black wood. She found a plushie of a green frog that was a bit burnt but still extinguishable. A looked at it for a long time. When we started moving out as it seems there was nothing else besides rubble, A took the frog with her and kept it in her hands. We dint bother asking why because all we get was some indistinguishable mumbling.
As we left the city we could hear bombing front the distant. We were close. If we keep walking, we probably make it to the frontlines. We kept walking towards West. We thought we will make it quicker, however, we had to stop near the road because of debris, major car crashes, tragic things. When we were preparing for the night Cara notice A looking at the frog. Cara asked why A was "Messing" with the plushie. A soon looked at Cara with a blank face. She soon replied to Cara saying "A remember before the truck". Cara looked at her with a look and soon went back to setting up her tent. I don't think Cara would have a good relationship with A.
We finally made it to the front lines where a group of scouts approaches us. They were friendlies and asked what group we were in. "Hawk Divison," said Charles. "I'm the captain. Sorry, we're late but our truck got hit by an anti-material weapon. We lost one of our recurits". The scouts were gonna let us in but asked about A. We told them we found her in a mysterious cargo truck controlled by some group with a weird insignia. I showed a picture of the insignia and gave it to one of the scouts. The scouts let us in and told us they will inform the Major.
We arrived where the artillery armaments are in place, including the stock weapons, vehicles, and medical supplies. One soldier told us that A had to be taken to the medical tent for any illneses or injuries. Guess they dint want any diseases spreading through the soldiers. Cara went with A because of the burned skin she had. Charles told us he going to the Major for orders and told us to wait near the tank depot.
We went to the tank depot and waited for Charles.
