Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX consists of two anomalies, SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2. Given the nature of SCP-XXXX-1, it has been contained on-site, with a Mk1 Scientific Study Base constructed around the anomaly. A solid concrete cell has been built around SCP-XXXX-1 with a single entrance, designed to prevent blunt force from breaking into the cell.

Under no circumstances should SCP-XXXX-2 be brought within 100km of SCP-XXXX-1. Instead, SCP-XXXX-2 should be kept at Site Technothurge b13 for study. SCP-XXXX-2 is to be kept in a locked wooden box stored in a filing cabinet in the office of the Site Director. Any experimentation requires the permission of the Site Director. SCP-XXXX-2 should never be brought into contact with a computing system with internet connection.

Description: SCP-XXXX was discovered 0.7km outside a rural Siberian village by ██████, a local shepherd, in 196█. It quickly came to the Foundation’s attention and was contained.

SCP-XXXX-1 appears to be a pure black object floating 1.75m off the ground, with a silhouette entirely made of straight edges and right angles, approximately 0.53m by 0.78m. However, upon further examination it is found that SCP-XXXX-1 is actually a complete gap in all matter and energy, with the perceived black coloring caused by the lack of protons reflecting off or passing through the space. Although all measurements show a complete lack of matter and energy, material cannot pass through SCP-XXXX-1 and no amount of pressure has been able to move or alter SCP-XXXX-1.

SCP-XXXX-2 is a geometric mineral of unknown composition matching the exact dimensions of SCP-XXXX-1. Although SCP-XXXX-2 superficially resembles bismuth, the inconsistent, random geometric structure and grey and green coloration could not form naturally and the chemical makeup bears no resemblance to modern knowledge of atom structures.

When SCP-XXXX-2 is brought into contact with a piece of computational equipment, the processor becomes scrambled and the devices is wiped of all data. This effect extends to other devices on the same network.

Starting 72 hours after discovery, SCP-XXXX-2 has exhibited a magnetic attraction towards SCP-XXXX-1 that increases exponentially as SCP-XXXX-2 approaches SCP-XXXX-1. Past 100km of separation this attraction is negligible and is easily countered by forces of friction and by typical containment. However, if SCP-XXXX-1 is brought within that radius it will actively attempt to rejoin with SCP-XXXX-2. Based on projections of the attractive force, it is predicted that if SCP-XXXX-2 were brought within 10m of SCP-XXXX-1 it would be impossible to prevent their connection.

Primary Research has been carried out by Dr. ████████████, whose ultimate findings are restricted to individuals with Level 4 security clearance or higher.
