The Whisper Transmission.
Special Containment Procedure: SCP-XXXX is to be contained at it's discovery site in [DATA EXPUNGED], Oregon scrapyard called [DATA EXPUNGED]. An exclusion zone of 2 km is to be created around the containment site citing a radioactive material leak to the local government. Any air transport must be directed to avoid the exclusion zone. Operatives on-site are to be handed auditory protection. In the case of minor or intermediate case of SCP-XXXX-1, Class A amnestics are to be applied and the subject is to be observed until further notice. If an operative shows major symptoms of SCP-XXXX-1, he is to be considered expendable and dispatched with the nearest available method and his body is to be placed into quarantine until further notice. If SCP-XXXX is to begin producing any sort of electromagnetic signal, an on-site EMP is to be activated, as to prevent a security breach. Audio recordings are strictly prohibited, even if it is required for research and development.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a statue of a hominid created using exposed iron and other metals. The main characteristics of the statue are its triangular shape, a broken searchlight in the middle of its "head" and a radio antenna on its "back" (The antenna is identified to be one stolen from [DATA EXPUNGED] Steelworks). The structure is severely bent out of shape and damaged by weather, making bipedal movement only hypothetical, if not impossible.
SCP-XXXX's anomalous effect (SCP-XXXX-1) is classified by effect of exposure:
Grade 1 Exposure: Minor
Approach of SCP-XXXX at 1.5 kilometers from containment site without auditory protection. SCP-XXXX-1 is described as an "audible click" at approximately 15 decibel in volume. The experience of the exposed subject varies depending on their mental fortitude and overall intelligence. Subjects with IQ 80-100, reported no discomfort at Grade 1 exposure, only reporting the click. Subjects with IQ 101-125 reported hearing faint whispers counting numbers or a nostalgic song they could not quiet describe. Subjects with IQ 126+ reported hallucinations and panic attacks, as well as describing the click as loud as 140 decibel.
Grade 2 Exposure: Intermediate
Approach of SCP-XXXX at 1 kilometer from containment site without auditory protection (500 meters with auditory protection.) Intermediate exposure has an acute effect on electronics, causing digitized recordings of SCP-XXXX to be corrupted. Intermediate exposure has a gradual effect on human subjects. In the first 20 seconds of exposure the subject will begin humming and/or quietly singing to himself. After 1 minute, the subject will increase the volume at which he is singing or humming in and may attempt to forcefully stop himself. After 3 minutes, the subject will begin shouting out random phrases and depending on the subject the lexicon he uses will differ. If the subject is not withdrawn from intermediate exposure area after 5 minutes, he is to be considered a containment breach and terminated, as the subject's shouting will become unintelligible and spread to surrounding subjects in hearing range.
Grade 3 Exposure: Major
Approach of SCP-XXXX at 500 meters from containment site without auditory protection (200 meters with protection.) The subject will come to a stage of calm and stop screaming. However, the subject will begin transmitting electromagnetic waves weaker yet identical to SCP-XXXX as well as not responding to his surroundings. Subjects with major exposure are to be considered an active threat and are to be eliminated from long range firearms if possible.
Grade 4 Exposure: [DATA EXPUNGED]
The exposure type was encountered only once and is considered to be a result of [DATA EXPUNGED]. If this level of exposure is encountered again, SCP-XXXX is to be destroyed by any means possible. If that is not possible, a scorched earth policy is to be implemented (destroying anything that may receive electromagnetic signals or transmit them) and 05-council is to be informed at once. The level of exposure may cause VK-HUMANITY END scenario, as well as cause a full biological restructuring.
