Seeking Greenlights: Yes
Page Type: SCP Article
Genre (Optional): Horror/Drama
Page Layout (Optional): Most of the information will be made out of audio logs from 3 D-Class an MTF who was sent down the tunnels
Elevator Pitch: There's a tunnel that leads to an underground clockwork city that runs off geothermal energy and is populated entirely by robots. There are subtle hints that SCP-1000 created the first few, but have since then been creating themselves. The horror part comes about when the "Sun" goes out and the robots harvest any human for creating more instances.
Central Narrative: Hikers went missing in the area. MTF investigates and finds a cave that leads to the city. In this city, there are hundreds of robotic humanoids designed to create more of themselves and maintain their town. First created by SCP-1000 they are now fully autonomous and are powered by geothermal energy. They have electricity to the point of early 1900s (lights radios and not much else) They also have an anomalous orb floating about 2 km above the centre of the city that seems to be a sun however its exact composition is unknown and no one is allowed to go near it as it is sacred to the town's people. We will get interview logs from a few citizens including but not limited to the mayor and constable of the city. The residents seem fairly friendly but almost too invinting.
Hook/Attention-Grabber: SCP-1000 doesn't often use mechanical only parts, and thus in order to create more citizens the residents of the city hunt and harvest from the nearest humans. These were originally made to create helpful slaves for SCP-1000 before the day of flowers but the inventor was shunned from the shining cities of 1000 and after the day of flowers the area was totally forgotten. audio logs from 3 D-Class and an MTF will be under extra clearance levels to show that not only are the residents hostile but they are also expanding their town at exponential growth.
Additional Notes: It would be neat to do a story later on how SCP foundation and this town remain diplomatic while also trying to contain the threat they pose.
Item #: SCP-####
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: Field agents placed in local state trooper and forest ranger stations will have any hikers avoid the area within 1 km 3 km1 of the tunnel entrance. In the event anyone does happen upon the area an old mine has been created on the outside of SCP-####-A, which has been fenced off and condemned. A squad of MTF-Delta7, The Miners, will be on-site to turn anyone away. Diplomatic relations with the Mayor SCP-####-001 should be maintained.
Description: SCP-#### is a small city located approximately ████ meters under the Vermont mountain ranges. SCP-####-A is located ███ meters up the slope of ████████ Mountian. SCP-####-A is the entrance to the tunnel leading to SCP-####. The tunnel runs inside the mountain for ███ meters and then opens into a dome approximately 5 km in radius and 3 km high at its peak. The city consists of 31 buildings all of which are made of copper, stone and steel.
The residents of SCP-#### seem to be entirely mechanical and autonomous. Each robot has a designation that assigns them to a specific job and model.3 While it seems that each resident is created for a specific purpose each family4
The creation of each resident is still a mystery because it is only possible "when the Sun goes out" according to residents. Why this is necessary is unknown as the process is a closely guarded secret. However, the creation of the first resident is told to us in their legends.6 Each resident along with their job classification has a model number. The model number rises regardless of the job classification, meaning there is only one 001, who happens to be the Mayor. The highest model number and thus the newest resident is designated at M-402.
Addendum: let's get a few interview logs in from at least the mayor and constable and the constable warns to not be there when the light goes out (which happens about once a week). The youngest robot is gonna be numbered in the 200s.
