SCP-XXXX in its last recorded form

Special Containment Procedures: Experimentation is underway. No definitive way of containing the object permanently has been found.

SCP-XXXX Does not stay in its own form for long, and soon it’s properties shift to another object. There is no way of knowing when the object has transferred to another form until the first anomalies tied to the owner of the new object show. In this process, SCP-XXXX's previous form is not destroyed. An object that was once one of SCP-XXXX's forms does not exhibit any observable differences to when it was SCP-XXXX's current form.

The previous proves to be a challenge in determining when SCP-XXXX has changed form and where it has relocated to. So far, no commonalities between the SCP's chosen locations have been found.

Arrival while the anomalies occur for the following reasons has been attempted: to observe the anomalies, interview the owner, neutralize any threat to the owner, and to take in SCP-XXXX for experimentation with containment.

However, every time it is, those sent to the field seem to consistently and inexplicably arrive too late, and the subject is dead before they arrive. The Foundation can only then take the object in and attempt to contain it, though these attempts have not yielded success as of yet.

As a result of the previous, experimentation on SCP-XXXX is limited to a seven hour period after the owner of the object's death. Once this window expires, SCP-XXXX takes another object's form, and it must yet again be retrieved for experimentation.

Description: SCP-XXXX was created in 1877 by a horologist by the name of Clarkson Workman. This horologist was born in London in 1851. Obsessed with the idea of telling the future, he sought out to create a device that could tell the time of day any given event would happen. After years of work to no avail, he eventually turned to darker sources of knowledge. His location became unknown for 17 months from September of 1875 to February of 1877. He returned to his home in London with new knowledge and completed this device shortly after.

On this outing, as has been since determined, he visited one Mary Victoria, claiming to be a master of the dark arts. She, however, believed that divination and the prediction of the future went against the basic laws of the universe. The horologist angered her, and so she gave him bad advice. She did not consider what would become of the device once Clarkson Workman was dead, however, and so SCP-XXXX was created. His disregard for which sources he obtained his knowledge from, however, proved to be his downfall. Clarkson Workman became the first victim of its anomalies.

SCP-XXXX appears in the form of a mobile time related device. This definition encompasses all mobile devices, digital or analog, which have some connection to measuring time. For example: a pocket watch, a smartphone, or a wristwatch.

This object does not exist in one form, but takes on a new form as another such existing object 7 hours after its previous owner dies and no longer owns the object. SCP-XXXX passes it’s anomalous properties to that tool.

The aforementioned anomalies induced by the possession of SCP-XXXX consist of the following in this order:

1. SCP-XXXX takes a new form. The object immediately appears to malfunction and stops, displaying the number 49.

2. Exactly 49 hours after the previous signal, a child asks the owner what their day consisted of the previous day.

3. The object appears to malfunction again and stops, displaying the number 28.

4. Exactly 28 hours after the previous encounter ends, an adult, described as 40-50 years in age, asks the owner what their day has consisted of that day.

5. The object appears to malfunction once more and stops, displaying the number 7.

6. Exactly 7 hours later, an elderly person asks the owner what their day will consist of the next day. The elderly person will deny that what the victim replies is true, or, if the victim cannot answer, state that they know what the owner’s day will consist of.

7. It is not known what exactly happens next, but the owner is dead in their bed the next morning, and the presence of an unfamiliar, elderly voice has been reported by occupants of neighboring apartments some short time before the owner’s death.
