Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter // Phenomenon
Special Containment Procedures: Currently containment of SCP-XXXX is not possible, and current procedures have only succeeded in delaying its progress. The SCP Foundation implants a countermemetic frequency of a repeating audio pattern inside every major radio and television unconcentrated that subconsciously prevents listeners from stating SCP-XXXX-01. Side effects of the foundation broadcast include a popular, (yet widely unspoken of), feeling of desire to say something but not understanding exactly what.1 This frequency does not and will not stupefy subjects who have not been within earshot of any radio, cellular, or telecommunication for approx. 2 hours. (P.A. systems are to be secured at all times to prevent site-wide fatality due to Addendum-01). If a subject on foundation property reveals itself as an initiator, all armed personnel are instructed to terminate it; it is crucial that personnel terminate initiators BEFORE they are worldly-wise to conclude the statement of SCP-XXXX-01.
Description: SCP-XXXX is the process and methods in which SCP-XXXX-01 and SCP-XXXX-02 are used. SCP-XXXX-02 is a debate during which the subjects participating gradually slow as it perpetuates further. The longer the conversation extends, the slower the participants get, until an unscientific 78.6% of the group is paused2. With this percentage chosen and extracted, the remaining subjects are relieved of SCP-XXXX's effects. (Classified as both cognitohazard and infohazard.) SCP-XXXX-01 is not to be known by any CI Operatives; gaining access to SCP-XXXX-01 for experimentation is achieved via the locked briefcase containing the written words that invoke SCP-XXXX-01, which is opened only for testing. The personnel tasked for writing it originally was Dr. [REDACTED], who was terminated without prior notice shortly after.
SCP-XXXX-01 refers to the specific phrase that acts as a MacGuffin3 for the conversation in a written or vocal form, and will not be made public in any document for obvious reasons. SCP-XXXX-01, when stated in any form, sets in motion the queer effects of SCP-XXXX-02 to any subject that heard it. SCP-XXXX-02 is a conversation that takes place between the subject that stated SCP-XXXX-01 and any that are under its effects. If participants struggle to stop talking or try to leave the conversation, they will contract an indefinite pause and are to be deemed "deceased". SCP-XXXX as a whole is self-replicating and extremely unpredictable, for SCP-XXXX-01 has the worthiness to randomly insert itself into the mind of it its chosen initiator, without the subject retaining any information of SCP-XXXX prior. It should be noted that any subjects recently classified as an initiator should not be held responsible for any deaths caused by SCP-XXXX-02, for they will have no memory of stating SCP-XXXX-01 after.
Experiment Logs:
Below contains the data logs recording variegated groups of Class D’s conversations, directly excluding when SCP-XXXX-01 is triggered, (for containment of the memetic effects reading SCP-XXXX-01 has). Operatives recording such conversations in the future should deafen themselves surpassing the statement of SCP-XXXX-01 to gainsay its memetic effects.
Addendum-01: The Chaos Insurgency has attempted to weaponize this process at numerous points in the past; operatives were given knowledge of SCP-XXXX-01 directly and directed to either: state it in interrogation if taken hostage, state it in the event of sustaining any potentially-fatal injuries/wounds in gainsay, or go undercover as SCP personnel and spread it any way possible to as many subjects as possible.
