Special Containment Procedure: SCP-4103 is to be guarded by no less than 5 armed guards at both main entrances to the path. A 15 foot wall has been built around the perimeter of the area affected by SCP-4103. Due to the nature of SCP-4103 any entities that emerge from it are to be treated as a high threat, and will be exterminated on sight. As of experiment 67-j no one will be allowed to enter SCP-4103. The [REDACTED] campground, gated community and several other residences and businesses have been closed due to their close proximity to SCP-4103. All personnel working at the site of SCP-4103 are not be on the site after 11:00 PM unless they are guards. Guards are to switch of after every 4 hours. SCP-4103 is not to be taken lightly.
Description: SCP-4103 is a semipermeable nocturnal inter-dimensional gateway time-loop that manifests in the form of a path leading through the woods. The object first came to the Foundation's attention on ██-██-199█, after several reports of paranormal activity were reported from a small campground in [REDACTED] Maine. As of ██-██-201█ SCP-4103 has been responsible for the sudden disappearances of several persons. There is no known way to retrieve a missing person once they have disappeared into SCP-4103.
SCP-4103 appears to be a plain path through a small patch of woodland that connects [REDACTED] campground to a gated community. From 7:06 AM until approximately 11:00 PM the path leads from a main road in the [REDACTED] campground to a road in the gated community on the other side of the brush. During the day the path takes roughly 2 and a half minutes to walk through at a leisurely pace, and it's length is roughly 32 meters. It should be noted there are no anomalous or paranormal properties on the path during the day period. By 11:00 PM however the path undergoes an instantaneous transformation. This transformation is observed in both the fauna and flora that occur immediately within SCP-4103.
Upon the arrival of 11:00 PM SCP-4103's length increases greatly. The duration of time it takes to complete SCP-4103 increases to roughly 9 minutes, and the overall length of the path becomes 67 meters. SCP-4103's effects after 11:00 PM transpire no matter the position from which you enter it. Subjects have entered from both openings of the path, from the sides and even from aerial locations. All results turn out the same.
After walking through SCP-4103 for 32 meters, it's length during the day, subjects report feelings of paranoia, often claiming they feel like they are being watched. It is unknown if this feeling is natural or memetic though it is assumed that it is an effect of SCP-4103. Most subjects turn around after reaching the 32 meter mark. Those who do continue on the path however report high anomalous activity from that point onward. Shortly after 32 meters rain begins to manifest within SCP-4103. This rain seems to spawn from no where, as no rain is exhibited outside of SCP-4103. Subjects report that after the 32 meter mark entities that stalk the subject from the outskirts of the path begin to manifest. These entities are referred to as SCP-4103-1. Instances of SCP-4103-1 are described as being "made of wood" and are very bulky creatures with a build similar to that of a Silverback Gorilla. Instances of SCP-4103-1 typically walk on two legs, though they use their large arms to support their weight. SCP-4103-1 are reported as being extremely fast, and can easily outrun any human. Attempts to communicate with instances of SCP-4103-1 come back negative, and removing them from SCP-4103 only results in instances immediately rotting at high rates.
After the 67 meter mark is met subjects claim there to be a small clearing in the middle of which is an old log cabin. Upon entering the clearing and approaching the cabin SCP-4103-1 shift from their somewhat docile nature. Once the 67 meter mark is met instances of SCP-4103-1 will immediately spring from the brush and attack the subject by scratching and tearing vital parts of their bodies. From these wounds the subject will begin to emit high temperatures, before protrusions of branches, leaves and other forms of wood will begin to grow from the lacerations. Subjects attacked by instances of SCP-4103-1 will continue to undergo this process until they themselves are an instance of SCP-4103-1.
SCP-4103 is considered to be form of inter-dimensional gateway that exclusively manifests at night that intercepts or overlaps with our reality. The origin of SCP-4103 and instances of SCP-4103-1 are currently not known. There are no known means of discovering any additional information on SCP-4103.
Addendum: After the revelations of experiment 67-j and the information that was uncovered during said test the Foundations view of SCP-4103 and all creatures living within it has changed drastically. SCP-4103 is the projection of a single night that occurred on ██-██-182█ at the same location as SCP-4103. This night exhibited an extremely high amount of anomalous events, including the original manifestation of SCP-4103-2.
SCP-4103-2 was originally discovered during experiment 67-j. During this experiment the subject was supplied with a motorcycle capable of going at speeds estimated to be far faster than any instance of SCP-4103-1. The subject was also supplied with a go pro camera that was attached to his head. This go pro provided a camera feed that was directly supplied to foundation personnel. The subject was instructed to use the cycle to outrun instances of SCP-4103-1, and reach the cabin within SCP-4103. To most foundation personnel's surprise the experiment was a success, and the subject reached the cabin. The video footage provided by the subject showed that instances of SCP-4103-1 chased the subject, though stopped once they reached the porch of the cabin. Entering the cabin revealed it to be completely barren of any form of furniture on the first floor. From here the subject was ordered to walk up the stairs and look around. Upon doing so the subject found two old wooden chairs, one of which had a tall entity sitting in it. The entity resembles instances of SCP-4103-1, though it is bipedal and far more humanoid than any instance of SCP-4103-1. After experiment 67-j this entity would be referred to as SCP-4103-2.
SCP-4103-2 is extremely intelligent, and upon first contact immediately displayed several examples of high knowledge of the human world including specific details about certain people. The following is an interview that was conducted between the subject and SCP-4103-2:
*Subject is instructed to ask SCP-4103-2 who and what it is to see if it is capable of speech, but subject is interrupted before he can do so*
SCP-4103-2: Hello Mr. ██████ *the subject's first name*, how are you?
Subject: You know my name?
SCP-4103-2: Why, I know many things. *SCP-4103-2 pauses for a moment and turns to face the subject* I am even aware of the foundation you see.
*the subject is once again instructed to ask SCP-4103-2 to explain exactly what it is*
Subject: So- *Subject is cut off by SCP-4103-2 before they can finish*
SCP-4103-2: You're going to ask me what I am, yes?
*Subject nods*
SCP-4103-2: I am the greatest being to walk this physical plain. I am the form of perfection. I am what humanity shall look like.
*Subject is instructed to inquire what he means by this*
Subject: What do you mean?
SCP-4103-2: *SCP-4103-2 pauses for nearly a minute, remaining completely motionless before speaking* You see I was alone when I came to this plain. I had no one to share my excellence with. That is why I have built myself some friends.
Subject: Are you talking about the things outside?
SCP-4103-2: *SCP-4103-2 spasms slightly and twitches in an unusual manner* Do not call them "things". They are not "things", they are masterpieces.
Subject: They were people though.
SCP-4103-2: They were imperfect! They had to be reformed, it was for the greater good of this plain.
Subject: What do you mean?
SCP-4103-2: I am a being of healing. Humans are creatures of destruction and tyranny. By correcting your genetic failures I will solve this world's deepest problem. I will cure it of it's greatest imperfection.
SCP-4103-2: Though sometimes I can not help but feel it is all futile. No matter how noble of a deed I attempt to preform however your plain seems incapable of hosting me.
Subject: What do you mean?
SCP-4103-2: Why this of course. *SCP-4103-2 motions around itself with its arms.* This whole realm is a way to subdue me. It is impossible for me to act upon my plans due to this awful domain. It's your plain's means of preventing my healing. Your plain is rejecting the medicine. It's like an allergic reaction. So pitiful.
Subject: Why can't you leave?
*SCP-4103-2 twitches violently and lets out a high pitched moan*
SCP-4103-2: I am trapped here by your reality! I am trapped here by my own creation! Your plain treats me like I am a virus! I am only here to help! *SCP-4103-2 pauses for a moment and collects itself* I cannot help you all though. Only those who fall into my hands can be treated. I cannot stop the inevitable. I cannot stop the end.
*there is a long pause here, SCP-4103-2 seems to turn to the window to think*
SCP-4103-2: The one you call 990 was right. It is inevitable. I was supposed to help you. I was supposed to return you to the trees. I was the medicine to humanities infinite illness. I am a failure. I am sorry.
*SCP-4103-2 proceeds to tear apart the subject. The transformation process is all captured on film. SCP-4103-2 then picks up the go pro and directly addresses the viewers.*
SCP-4103-2: Heath his words, for he speaks the truth. There will be no more of my kind sent. I cannot heal you. Reality will bend to prevent it. You are in the hands of fate. I am sorry.
