Item # SCP XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Multiple guard posts set approximately 25 meters apart, along the perimeter, stationed at the 250 meter radius of the initial infection site of SCP XXXX, named Area ███████. Each guard post is to be manned by two security guards, armed with a specialized, double barrel rifle that is outfitted to simultaneously fire a tranquilizer dart filled with ██████ tranquilizer, and a dart filled with the ██████ fungicide. Area ███████ is to be outfitted with surveillance cameras with night vision capabilities, to track the movements of SCP XXXX-01
All staff are required to be subjected to the usual psychological testing, as well as background check of their ongoing and/or previous romantic relationships. In the case that they are currently acting in, or have had a history of infidelity or abusing their significant other, they are to be relocated to a different project in the Foundation to prevent hostility from SCP XXXX-01.
During Phases Beta and Delta, all staff on shift at Area ███████ must be female (both biologically, and sexually identifies as such) as entity SCP XXXX-01 becomes violent towards human males during these phases. All staff that die while in the infected area must be cremated as soon as physically possible. The cremation is to prevent the possibility of creating another entity similar to SCP XXXX-01.
During Phase Beta and Delta, a male Class D subject with a history of either infidelity or abuse towards their significant others, is to be released into the area that SCP XXXX has infected. SCP XXXX-01 will hunt the subject, and once SCP XXXX-01 has captured the subject, SCP XXXX-01 initiates its ritualistic feeding upon the subject. No other sustenance for SCP XXXX or SCP XXXX-01 is required.
The forest that SCP XXXX is contained in, is set a few kilometers outside of ██████, Lower Saxony, Germany. During the possible case that SCP XXXX -01 breaches the containment perimeter during Phase X or Phase X, it will be found “hunting” in the aforementioned town. Agents of the German branch of MTF Epsilon-6 (“Village Idiots”) are to be posted, undercover, in the the town during Phase X and Phase X, and will mobilize in the case of the perimeter breach, both hunting and capturing SCP XXXX-01, as well as attempting to protect the civilians.
Description: SCP XXXX is a fungus of currently unknown origin that is said to be created by a currently unnamed demon, specified to be a Merihem (a demon of pestilence according to the Foundation’s Demonology department), and brought into our world by a cult that worshiped the Merihem (see ██████ Rumors and Interview Log XXXX-001 for further details). The fungus, although, being comprised of chemical compounds that are currently not identified by the scientific world, its attributes would place it in the genus of Cordyceps.
The fungus has infected an approximately 71 126 kilometer area (a circle with a radius of 150 200 meters) of forest. The site of the SCP XXXX’s initial infection is a tree trunk that was used as a sacrificial altar by a cult that is rumored to be named ██████ by locals. The portion of SCP XXXX that has infected the forest is currently in a dormant state; however it will regrow if any portion of it is initially destroyed by typical antifungal means. As long as the cyclic ritual carried out by SCP XXXX-01, SCP XXXX will not continue to infect more of its surroundings. An active specimen of SCP XXXX is found in SCP XXXX-01
SCP XXXX-01 is a resurrected corpse of a human female that is infected and controlled by SCP XXXX. The entity is approximately 2.2 meters in height, matted black hair, and appears to be anemic and emaciated. Despite its malnourished appearance, the entity has superhuman strength and agility. Although SCP XXXX-01’s typical locomotion is bipedal, when sprinting, the entity shifts to a quadripedic stance and movements. The current fastest speed that SCP XXXX-01 has reached is 65 km/h.
SCP XXXX-01 has shown to have heightened regenerative abilities, being able to heal injuries within a few minutes, depending on the severity of the damage.
