Digital Recreation of SCP-XXXX

Containment Level: Keter Explained

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the prolific nature and global presence of SCP-XXXX, containment is impossible without the widespread deployment of Class-C amnestics.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a symbol resembling the English letter "S" drawn in a geometric pattern consisting of 14 lines creating a figure eight loop. SCP-XXXX is most commonly found on paper writing surfaces and rarely found tattooed on bodies. The origin of SCP-XXXX is unknown and currently under investigation by Dr. Blank.

SCP-XXXX exhibits a weak memetic effect which compels those visually exposed to the symbol to replicate it. Anyone visually exposed to the symbol will replicate SCP-XXXX under the pretense of a ‘doodle’ and inadvertently spread its memetic effects; however, subjects are not actively compelled to draw SCP-XXXX and will often only draw the symbol offhand. These effects are especially prevalent in children attending school due to the ease of drawing the symbol and the memetic nature of SCP-XXXX, which easily spreads in high-density populations.

Turns out the "memetic properties" are just a product of human psychology, nothing to see here. - Dr. Blank

A FLIR X-███ thermal imaging camera directed toward an instance of SCP-XXXX revealed slight temperature deviations surrounding the area it was engraved in. SCP-XXXX appears to “absorb” kinetic energy of any object it is drawn on. The energy absorbed is proportional to the size of the SCP-XXXX instance drawn in relation to the surface area of the body. It is unknown how SCP-XXXX reacts with the energy, as there are no visible reactions when reducing kinetic energy of objects.

Addendum XXXX-01: Test Log

Item: Two (2) identical stainless steel cooking pots, with a volume of 12 quarts
Condition: A 6” long instance of SCP-XXXX laser engraved on Pot One, with Pot Two remaining blank. Both are filled with 10 quarts of water and placed on top of a convection oven in an isolated chamber.
Result: Pot One began to boil __ seconds after Pot Two began to boil. Subsequent trials maintain this conclusion.
Note: I'm having a hard time finding a reason I would want my water to boil slower.
