An image taken in 2004 showing soldiers investigating a cave entrance, later identified as SCP-XXXX-A-2. The soldiers and their purpose there have never been identified.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Despite the nature of SCP-XXXX, containment is not required because of it's territorial nature. Although 24 hour monitoring is required from Site-███, an outpost built into nearby mountain. If SCP-XXXX is to leave its cave, one unmanned reconnaissance drone is to be deployed and monitor SCP-XXXX's activities. An area of 20 kilometers around SCP-XXXX-A has been cordoned off.
Description: SCP-XXXX is giant humanoid, appearing to be a Homo Neanderthalensis, commonly known as a Neanderthal. It is estimated to be anywhere from 32 to 41 meters tall, its weight is unidentifiable. SCP-XXXX has long, dark hair and a similarly long beard. SCP-XXXX draped in a large animal pelt appearing to be made from a mammoth. Even though mammoths during the Neanderthal period were not as large as the pelt's size, suggesting that there might have been mammoths bigger than originally thought.
SCP-XXXX seemingly has the intelligence equal to that of an early neanderthal, seen using primitive weapons and clothing as well as using large boulders to create art on the walls of SCP-XXXX-A. Several large weapons have been found near SCP-XXXX during its initial discovery. These include a spear, a weapon resembling an axe, a bow, and a club-like weapon. Other actions SCP-XXXX has been seen doing include bathing in a nearby lake, creating art on the walls of SCP-XXXX-A, climbing a nearby mountain and yelling, collecting trees (presumably for firewood), jumping around a fire and making grunt-like noises, and [data expunged].
SCP-XXXX has been seen in two states; It's active state, wheres it's awake and goes about it's normal activities, and it's sleeping state. Since it's discovery, SCP-XXXX has been recorded sleeping anywhere from 3 months to 2 years. SCP-XXXX currently lives in a cave, SCP-XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX-A has two known entrances, these are SCP-XXXX-A-1 and SCP-XXXX-A-2. For ease of reading, these entrances will be called Alpha-1 and Alpha-2. Alpha-1 is the primary entrance to the cave, where SCP-XXXX always exits and enters from. Alpha-2 is a smaller entrance, big enough for humans to enter through and small enough for SCP-XXXX to not be able to fit through.
SCP-XXXX was discovered on 5/13/20██ in ███████, Spain after supposed sightings of a "giant" in the mountains were becoming frequent in nearby towns and villages. The Foundation approved an expedition made up of 4 researchers, 2 geographers, and 5 agents from MTF Alpha-92 ("Sare Gaav") led by Captain Amy Longhan (See Addendum XXXX.1).The expedition resulted in the deaths of most of the expedition team, but put SCP-XXXX into the Foundation's knowledge.
Addendum XXXX.1: Expedition Log
EXPEDITION LOG: Day 1
DATE: 5/9/20██
<BEGIN LOG:
"This is Captain Amy Longhan recording Expedition Log 1. The current time is uh- what's the time, Abbot? (A muffled voice is heard in the background) Oh, ok… yeah… I got it. Anyways, The current time is 21:13. We just set up camp after hiking all day, Tim is prepping dinner right now. Not really sure what we'll fine out here. Those people are probably just faking these… "sightings" for attention, a giant presumably as big as it sounds couldn't have lived in this area for so long without being spotted. Either way, these sightings were enough to make the foundation send us out here, so, I guess it might be true. The hike so far has been pretty uneventful, mostly just one of the researchers complaining about the heat and Abbot gawking at the landscape. Although the area does seem kind of odd. I haven't seen a single animal at all today, except for some birds flying around occasionally. The silence makes me feel uneasy, but we gotta keep moving, the Foundation wouldn't like it if we just turned around and quit (Longhan chuckles and audibly takes a bite out of something). Well. I'm gonna sign off for now, Abbot says chow is almost ready and I don't have anything more to say in mind. This is Captain Amy Longhan, Expedition Log 1, signing off."

<BEGIN LOG:
"I know this is supposed to be a professional log, but I don't really care-I'll just take the scolding. (Several people are heard laughing in the backround) It seems Evers is telling his stupid stories again, they were funny at first, but I don't laugh at em' anymore. Oh, (Audibly Sighs) Right sorry. This is Captain Amy Longhan recording Expedition Log 2. Current time is 20:47. Yet another uneventful day. Although sometime into the hike Tim and Abbot, who were at the front, starting insisting that they felt a lot of tremors in the ground. No one else felt em'. They were probably just trying to scare the Geographers. Although they still insist they felt the tremors, I still don't believe. But they do seem serious about it, still, which isn't very common when they mess around (She is heard muttering under her breath, some identifiable words are "Idiots" and "Immature"). Fuck me, This is tiring. The path were taking is super uneven and hilly. I know I'm trained for this stuff and It's literally my job to do this… but… maybe I'm getting old. (Someone walks up to Longhan and gives her something.) Thanks. Either way though, gotta job to do, so I'm going to keep pushing on. This is Captain Amy Longhan, Expedition Log 2, signing off."

EXPEDITION LOG: Day 3
Date: 5/11/20██
<BEGIN LOG:
"Okay, now this is getting weird. I believe Abbot and Tim now. While we were walking, no more than an hour before we set up camp, we heard loud bellowing in the distance. Freaked us the fuck out. We stopped for about 20 minutes, remaining on alert before moving again. This is getting creepy. Whatever made that loud-ass noise was big, very big. Nothing small could make a noise on that level. Whatever, I guess. This is Captain Amy- You know what. Screw This. Theres some fuckin' giant out there, I'm done with this shit (Longhan begins to mutter to herself, and eventually is heard deeply breathing in and out). Ah, I can't be doing this, sorry. The time is 22:04, and this is officially getting weird. I'm gonna have least 3 of us on watch duty at any time and rotate out every few hours. Can't take any chances. I'm really tired, I gotta some shut eye. This is Captain Amy Longhan, Expedition Log 3, Signing off."

EXPEDITION LOG: Day 4
DATE: 5/12/20██
<BEGIN LOG:
(The Log begins with Longhan audibly trying to calm herself down) "Okay. Okay, Okay. Hello again. This is Captain Longhan again… Obviously. I think we might be getting closer to whatever the fuck that thing we are hearing is. While we were walking today, we starting feeling those tremors Abbot and Tim were talking about, and they were heavy temors. Something big must be moving not too far away. We also heard a lot more bellowing, even louder this time. Sometimes they were ear piercing. Some of the scientists want to turn back, they're getting nervous. I understand, but… we got a job to do. We need to investigate whatever the fuck is out there. One of the Geographers tried to run. When we tried to stop him, he attacked us, so… we had to put him down. I didn't want that to happen, but it seems he was scared enough that attacking his own expedition team to run away was a better option. Fuck. Fuck Fuck Fuck. The moment we identify this thing, we're getting the hell outta here. Longhan, Expedition 4. Signing Off." (A loud bellowing noise in heard, and the recording device seems to fall out of Longhan's hands, audibly hitting the ground. The log then ends.)

EXPEDITION LOG: Day 5

<BEGIN LOG:
(The Log begins with heavy breathing, coming from Longhan, who seems to be running) "This is..(Panting) Captain Longhan. Don't come here (More panting). There's some big thing, looks like a- (Panting) human. It's already killed 4 of us (Longhan appears to stop, breathing heavily for about a minute before speaking again). We were walking through a clearing… thats when the tremors started. Then we saw it. A giant. Walking through over the forest. It didn't see us at first but- (someone is heard running over. Longhan and the person speak for a minute) but after it was after it was about to enter a cave when once of the scientists screamed. Me and Abbot jumped onto her, holding her down and covering her mouth. But it was too late… It turned around and saw us. It let a deafening roar and charged us. We tried to run but it was fast. Really fucking fast. It immediately stepped on a group of. Tim was in that group. Fuck me. It then picked up Evers and [data expunged] him. God. It was brutal, it was literally raining blood. The rest of us scattered into the nearest forest. Me and Abbot stayed together and were running for about 10 minutes… god…

Addendum XXXX.2: Recovery Operations
Addendum XXXX.3: Containment Attempts
On 5/13/20██, a distress call was received by Site-██ a storage facility located close to where the expedition was taking place.
"This is Captain Amy Longhan. We are, no, were on an expedition investigating sightings of a large creature in the [data expunged] mountains. The sightings are true! (Loud bellowing is heard through the audio) There is a large humanoid creature at least 30 meters or more in height! We need Foundation backup here now! (Loud tremors are heard and Captain Longhan begins screaming, the call subsequently ends)
Agents stationed at the storage facility forward the call to a nearby research site, Site-██. The foundation begins preparations for the containment of SCP-XXXX.
MTF Sigma-9 ("Valkyries") deploys 1 Close Air Support Attack Aircraft (CASAA) from the nearest airbase equipped with several air-to-surface payloads filled with sleeping agents. Upon first sighting of SCP-XXXX, the payloads are deployed and the sleeping agents spread around a 3 square kilometer area, which SCP-XXXX is confirmed to have been inside of. Once the gas cleared, SCP-XXXX was identified to be in a sleeping state. MTF Eta-5 ("Jaeger Bombers") was subsequently deployed.
Containment Team: MTF Eta-5
Team Leader: "Ibex""
Ibex: Ibex to Overwatch, we have eyes on the target, moving in to contain, over.
OV: Copy Ibex, maintain objective. Contain the LSA and immediately exfil. It will be transported by more equipped teams once you've achieved containment, over.
Ibex: Copy, Ibex out.
The team proceeds to make preparations for containing SCP-XXXX. They begin by setting up Class-A Containment Anchors and successfully secures SCP-XXXX to the ground. As the team begins the second phase of containment, SCP-XXXX suddenly reawakens and begins to aggressively thrash around in an attempt to escape it's restraint.
Ibex: (In a concerned tone) Ibex to Overwatch, the target has reawakened. It is in a very agitated state and is actively pushing against its restraints. Please advise, over.
OV: Copy Ibex, retreat to a secure location and activate your gas masks. More sleeping agents are on the way. Until then, hold position at said secure location until further notice, over.
Ibex: Copy, Ibex out.
Ibex and his team retreat to a position a klick from SCP-XXXX's position while another CASAA is deployed to deliver a second sleeping agent payload. Before the payload reaches SCP-XXXX, it is able to disable one of the anchors, presumably by repeatedly pushing to the point where the anchor was weakened. SCP-XXXX then escaped its restraints and began quickly moving north at a pace of ███ kilometers per hours.
Ibex squad is exfiltrated while an A-10 Thunderbolt II is deployed by MTF Sigma-9.
Stryder-1: Overwatch this is Stryder-1, approaching target, over.
OV: Copy Stryder, maintain vector.
Stryder-1 Wait. I got eyes on something. One giant humanoid running at high speeds east-bound. Clear for a strafing round, over?
OV: You are clear.
Stryder-1 then proceeds to engage SCP-XXXX using the A-10's main cannon. Although not fatally injured, SCP-XXXX seemed to have been scared off, running back to it's cave and remaining for ██ days. Further actions were ceased.
