Hallway of SCP-XXXX-2-06 in the aftermaths of an SCP-XXXX manifestation. Graphic imagery has been censored. (Click to enlarge.)

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the unpredictable nature of SCP-XXXX, long term containment is currently considered infeasible. Rendezvousing with SCP-XXXX survivors once the location of SCP-XXXX-2 has been determined is currently prioritized over establishing further containment procedures.

Once in Foundation custody, SCP-XXXX survivors are to be interviewed, and administered Class-B amnestics, then released into the custody of their parental guardians with an appropriate cover story.

The families of SCP-XXXX victims should universally have false memories implanted of an accident in which they lost their child. Under no circumstances are the families of SCP-XXXX victims to be made aware of what happened to their children. Putting efforts into wide scale amnestization of entire towns in which SCP-XXXX has manifested is currently pending under review of the Ethics Committee.

Foundation web crawlers are to periodically check all known airwaves and radio frequencies for SCP-XXXX broadcast. If an SCP-XXXX broadcast is found, FM radio frequency (VLF) deflecting drones are to be deployed directly over ███████████ records until such a time that SCP-XXXX transmissions cease.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a phenomenon that occurs throughout the Northeastern United States. SCP-XXXX manifestations occur in public high schools during Freshman orientations, typically before the start of a new school year. SCP-XXXX only manifest when the vast majority of the freshman student body is absent from orientation, attendance is <50, and all students attending have gathered in the room designated as the gymnasium.

High schools in which SCP-XXXX manifest, henceforth designated SCP-XXXX-2, are impossible to enter by any means. Doors are seemingly locked, including doors that otherwise could not be locked, and forced entry has so far proven impossible. Once SCP-XXXX has manifested, the windows of SCP-XXXX-2 become tinted, and cannot be seen through from the outside.

Upon manifestation, all adult humans inside of SCP-XXXX-2 will become comatose. It is unclear what SCP-XXXX defines as an 'adult', as senior students attending orientation as volunteers have both fallen comatose, and remained awake seemingly at random during manifestations. In 95% of recorded cases, humans who become comatose during SCP-XXXX manifestations do not recover.

During the early stages of SCP-XXXX events, the intercoms of SCP-XXXX-2 will become active, or alternatively if there is a projector or television in the gymnasium, it will power on. In cases in which a monitor to display visuals is present, they will universally project a video message delivered by an entity hereby designated as SCP-XXXX-3. SCP-XXXX-3 appears to be a male of indeterminate ethnic background, it's face often obscured by either poor lighting, or shadows. In all cases, SCP-XXXX-3 has shown itself wearing a black overcoat with a white button up shirt and tie underneath, and a black, brimmed cap similarly colored to it's overcoat. When a monitor is not present, SCP-XXXX-3 will speak over the intercoms.

Once having introduced itself, SCP-XXXX-3 will proceed to explain the nature of SCP-XXXX to all attending students. In all instances except for one (See Incident Report SCP-XXXX-2-12 for more details), all SCP-XXXX manifestations have ended with only one survivor. SCP-XXXX-3 will deliver the same speech during every SCP-XXXX manifestation with very few discrepancies. Notable differences have included the name of SCP-XXXX-2, the name of SCP-XXXX-3, and the number of viewers currently watching the events of SCP-XXXX. After having explained the circumstances to all students, SCP-XXXX-3 will cease further communications until such a time that only one living human remains inside of SCP-XXXX-2. (I don't know what to put here, I'll add more to this later after I'm done with the first draft.)

Once SCP-XXXX has manifested, it will broadcast radio and video signals directly from ███████████ records in ████████, Rhode Island. Investigations into ███████████ records are ongoing, though to date evidence that ties SCP-XXXX and ███████████ records together are considered circumstantial. Throughout the duration of SCP-XXXX broadcast, donations of large sums of money will randomly be displayed, or announced by SCP-XXXX-3 at random intervals. It is unknown how these donations are processed, as the Foundation has consistently prevented SCP-XXXX broadcast from airing live. Additional investigation into the source of these donations are ongoing.

Addendum XXXX-1: Foundation researchers theorize that SCP-XXXX-3 may be Foundation Foundation POI-528, "The Man in the Hat". To date no concrete connections have been established between SCP-XXXX and POI-528, but based on physical descriptions, witness sketches, and area of operations, there is reason to believe that POI-528 may be involved, if not directly behind the creation of SCP-XXXX events. As per protocol, should POI-528 be encountered by field personnel, they are to be detained immediately and transferred to Site-█ for questioning. Subject is assumed to be dangerous, and should be approached with caution. Lethal force is not approved.
