Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be kept in a cell with no lights and no windows. The container that houses the instances of SCP-XXXX should be covered times by a Mylar blanket. A sonar imaging system is to be placed in the cell. If for any reason a person must go in the cell they are to fitted with a sonar imaging and viewing device and are to never take it off until they are outside of the cell and the door has been securely closed.
Once a week the number of instances of SCP-XXXX must be counted and and recorded and any new instances must be given a designation.
Any individual effected by SCP-XXXX is to be restrained and held in a standard D-Class cell until they are deemed fit to return to their previous duties.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a meel worm colony contained in a transparent plastic box measuring one meter by one and a half meters. Each meel worm in the colony has been given a designation of SCP-XXXX-#.
Visual exposure to SCP-XXXX will result in the viewer believing that they are dreaming, and that their actions will have no consequences. Affected individuals claim that SCP-XXXX convinced them of this.
Every effected subject said that they used anecdotal evidence from their lives to try and convince them. When asked about what would happen if they woke up from this "dream" each subject claimed something different although this is assumed to just be according to each subject's personal religious beliefs.
Testing has shown that not all cases of effected individuals result in the subject's death,as subjects who are deemed mentally deficient seem to not be able to become effected. Subjects who are able to be restrained after being effected are able to be convinced again that they are not in a dream, showing that it is not a permanent cognitohazardous effect but a strong suggestive one.
SCP-XXXX was found in Larkespurr, Nebraska after a man was found walking naked down the street holding a glock-9 that he had recently stolen from a nearby store. The man was firing the gun randomly and had caused four injuries and one casualty. When interrogated by local police he claimed that "the worms" had told him that he was in a dream. The man was sent to a local mental institution and two Foundation containment specialists were dispatched to investigate. After four days there had been no word from the containment specialists so two MTF agents were dispatched to attempt to find what happened. The MTF agents found the two containment specialists dead in the house of the original effected subject's house after apparently having sex for approximately 17 hours straight and having died of exhaustion. The MTF agents contact the local Site-64 for backup but by the time they arrived the MTF agents were found to have died after lighting each other on fire and drinking antifreeze. This time containment specialists and MTF agents were fitted with sonar imaging and viewing systems due to a presumed cognitohazardous threat and SCP-XXXX was able to be contained.
