Special Containment Procedures: SCP-0226 AKA The Riker Painting is to be covered at all times. SCP-0226 is to be wrapped in a blanket, placed in a lead lined cast iron case and left in a room no larger than three feet by three feet with no light.
There are to be no recording devices within SCP-0226's cell with no fewer than four Class D personnel at its door at all times. The guards must be positioned across from each other with two facing away from the cell door and two across the hall facing the cell door. All personnel will be issued earplugs and firearms for this posting.
Should any Class D personnel show signs of 'hearing' SCP-0226 the other personnel are required to exterminate the threat before it has a chance to enact violence against Foundation Personnel. Under no circumstances is SCP-0226 to be viewed in any way be it photography, on video or especially in person. Anyone who 'hears' SCP-0226 is to be studied in depth before being dealt with.
Description: SCP-0226 is a painting of an aristocratic nobleman by the name of █████ █████ and commissioned in ████. It is said that the subject of SCP-0226 made a pact with a yet unknown entity for eternal life. His body was found dead two days after the commissioned painting was finished.
Since SCP-0226 became public knowledge twenty six people who have handled it have reported hearing voices telling them to bring SCP-0226 its heir. Several men have been found dead in front of the piece with the last name of Riker, all of whom had pregnant wives.
Anyone who has reported hearing whispers from SCP-0226 have later been admitted to hospitals with symptoms of severe necrotizing fasciitis and decay of mental faculties. Severe homicidal tendencies have been shown in those who have 'heard' the painting.
Symptoms of 'hearing' SCP-0226 begin with a mild tremor in the extremities. Over time, which varies from one day to a week depending on the individuals mental constitution, the tremors will reach the neck and face. Along with tremors victims of SCP-0226 will have their skin turn pale and translucent revealing darkened blood vessels all over their bodies. Finally in some cases, not all, self mutilation becomes prevalent just before those under SCP-0226's influence become homicidal.
Once someone 'hears' SCP-0226's whisper there is a 100% expiration rate.
