The Black Vacuum

This is my second SCP that I'll be working on. I have too many ideas for me to stick on one Sandbox page, so I'll make a sandbox for each SCP to maintain maximum organization. I'll keep the links on a google doc so I won't lose them.
Anyways, let's begin.

SCP-#762 resembles that of a silver (grey) colored iRobot Roomba 860 Vacuum. The front of SCP-#762 has a little string of backlights inside a transparent rubber tube that light up the floor as it goes. SCP-#762 operates like a normal Roomba would. It is capable of cleaning, navigating new rooms on its own, and is able to rotate and go in any direction. It has been found that its technology is a little more ahead of the model's times, and is capable of connecting to any device with the Bluetooth appliance where the individual may remote control SCP-#762 or plot out a course for it to follow or patrol. The app to control it is only on the device as long as it is connected to the device. The creator and origin of the app is unknown. It can adapt to and navigate any room, even when the room is rearranged completely while it is active, and can rotate its wheels in order to go in any direction. It runs on chargeable Lithium Ion batteries which are charged by a charging station that plugs into any wall socket that is close enough to the floor. SCP-#762's exterior represents a iRobot Roomba 860. The underside of SCP-#762, when active, appears to glow bright neon colors of violet and cyan which seem to emit from blacklight sources located in the airways leading to and out the filters. Attempts to take apart SCP-762 have found that what can be disassembled is limited to removal of the vacuum sack and the central exterior lid that exposes the filter, excluding the filter itself. No electronic light sources have been found to be causing the glow and no other noticeable light source is visible when SCP-#762 is not active. The glow is visible on the underside behind the extractors. In front of the airways and filters are two rotational extractors that rotate in order to conduct the vacuuming process. Extractors operate just like non-anomalous iRobot Roombas and seem to have no special use for the teleportation process. It is believed that the extractors are able to take in objects such as car keys or straws without being clogged up. A ring of wheels circulates the perimeter of SCP-#762's exterior and allow it to rotate.

SCP-#762 is unable to be turned off and so must be run until it is out of charge. Personnel must wait five minutes before plugging SCP-#762 into its charger and it must not be turned on until it is needed for testing. No loose objects may be put in with SCP-#762 in case it activates on its own. Cases where it turns on randomly are rare. The area is to remain clean, and free of grime and liquids of all kinds. If any water leaks into SCP-#762's containment it is to be removed immediately and dried off as soon as possible. Any water-log, vandalism, graffiti or other physical damage done purposefully to SCP-#762 will be punished as the site director sees fit. Any damage left on SCP-#762 must be reported immediately to containment specialists for examination, and repair. SCP-#762 is not to leave the containment room unless otherwise stated and is not to be let loose in the building. Transportation of SCP-#762 is to be conducted by setting it in an air-tight box and carried by a single person and a one person escort. Charging station is to be held separately from SCP-#762 to prevent the possibility of it teleporting away. If SCP-#762 manages to teleport personnel should notify security officers immediately. Dropping the container carrying SCP-#762 is unadvised. If SCP-#762 is found anywhere else other than in its containment area, staff should report it immediately and let a security officer take charge of returning SCP-#762 to its containment area. Picking up SCP-#762 with bare hands and/or no witnesses to assist in a case of emergency is unadvised and can be dangerous when SCP-#762 is active and operational.

Reasons for Containment

All guards should be equipped with special gear to pick up SCP-#762 since the incident with Janitor, █████ ██████, attempted to pick up SCP-#762 and lost their fingers. It is not to be let loose without supervision in case it is unknown to any personnel who encounter it.
Carried in an air-tight box separately from its charger. Escort should be nearby and carrying the charger.	SCP-#762 is capable of starting up on its own from time to time and its charger is how it mainly escapes its room. Carrying it separately from its charger stops it from teleporting that way. It is required to carry it in an air-tight box to protect it in an event of disaster where water or other unwelcome substances are present and can damage SCP-#762.

After being recovered from a family of five in ████, █████, Scp-#762 has been found to have the ability to suck up objects smaller than itself and teleport those objects to randomized locations ranging up from the next room over to the other side of the world. Not all objects that SCP-#762 has picked up are found after they are relocated. SCP-#762 has two specialized, long extractors that spin at a rapid pace and prevent the clog of hair and dirt. Although SCP-#762 does have a vacuum sack where the picked up dust and dirt are to go, the sack is always empty and never full. The interior of SCP-#762, when observed from the outside while active, glows like the black-lights exhibited in the front. Once taken apart the glow is gone with no indication of what made the glow and no sign of an electronic light source. All objects that disappear are never found within the vacuum sack, nor will the dust or dirt. It is unknown how SCP-#762 disposes of the dust it finds, but it is known that a large enough quantity of dust sucked in will explode into reality elsewhere when SCP-#762 shuts down after processing it through its trans-dimensional system five minutes after losing. All items sucked up by SCP-#762 will reappear elsewhere five minutes after SCP-#762 has run out of power. If it is plugged into its charging station before the five minutes are up, the items just disappear from the planet completely to an unknown dimension or other location, assumed to be outside of the Earth's atmosphere. If SCP-#762 is plugged in prematurely before the battery usage is up, SCP-#762 will teleport outside of the containment area and into another room where it will resume its cleaning. It is uncertain whether SCP-#762 is capable of its own thoughts in order to plug in prematurely when it does or if it is just random chance like everything else it does. Personnel may find themselves encountering SCP-#762 randomly in the halls. No hostile behaviors or dangerous patterns have ever been performed by SCP-#762. It is often mistaken as another Roomba doing its job. There is a limit to SCP-#762's self-teleportation abilities. It can only teleport into another part of the building where it was plugged in prematurely. Attempts to plug SCP-#762 into its charging station on exterior outlets have not been made. Studies on ways to track SCP-#762 and its acquired objects through the teleportation process are currently underway.
Although SCP-#762 is relatively harmless to humanity, picking it up while it is still active is unadvised. When janitor ████ ██████ had discovered SCP-762 in the hallway by the janitor's closet, and attempted to pick up SCP-#762, his fingers had gotten stuck in the extractors and his digits were removed in a matter of seconds. Upon closer examination of the injury it was discovered that his fingers had been compressed in what is called the Spaghettification process until it had been torn apart by the extractors and eventually off the rest of his hand. This process is known to be the same process conducted by blackholes or a wormhole. Considering the items sucked into SCP-#762 have turned up elsewhere, it was determined that SCP-#762 was connected to its own miniature wormhole. ████ ██████'s fingers turned up 35 minutes later in a bowl of chicken noodle soup in San Diego, California. The fingers were secured by the foundation for further testing.

Foreword: This is the last recorded call between Melinda White and Field Agent ████ ███████ as she describes the unusual behaviors over the phone. The "Interviewer" is posing as an employee at iRobot. Scp-#762 has been recovered by the team and is now in containment at Site ██. The family has been lead to believe that they are exchanging SCp-#762 for another Roomba after SCp-#762 "broke down" within the 60 days of Money Back guarantee. This is an interview based around how much Melinda and her family knew and noticed about SCP-#762 before their memories were altered to forget what they knew of SCP-#762.

Interviewer: Hello Ms. White. Thank you for attending this call with us. It is deeply appreciated. This will be the last call you will receive before you can return to your lives again. First off, how are you feeling?

Melinda White: Confused mostly, but I am doing alright. Thank you for asking.

Interviewer: That is completely understandable. Now I have a few questions I would like you to answer before we continue. This is mainly to help us prevent these kind of problems in the future and the betterment of our products.

Melinda White: Alright.

Interviewer: When did you first start to notice that the roomba couldn't be turned off?

Melinda White: I began noticing it near the end of the first week we had it. I believe it was a Thursday. We just recently received our new family member, Raggy, and we were letting him around the house for the first time to get him acquainted with his new home. he wasn't too fond of our roomba and so we tried to turn it off until he was more at home, but we couldn't. We tried everything, but nothing worked. We waited until it was done before letting Raggy roam around again.

Interviewer: Alright. When did you start to notice that your roomba could connect to all devices with the bluetooth appliance?

Melinda White: It was the second week on a Friday when my daughter noticed she had a new app on her phone. The app looked similar to the newer models that we saw but it could be applied to computers too. We never downloaded it onto her phone and when the Roomba turned off the app just disappeared without a trace. We looked on all the app stores to see if we could find anything, but we found nothing.

Interviewer: I see. One or two more questions left now. When did you begin to notice that the Roomba wasn't picking up items you saw it suck up?

Melinda White: Ever since we got it. Normally it was just loose hairs and candy wrappers that we saw go in. One day my husband had dropped one of his coupons onto the floor, and the Roomba picked it up. When it shut off later on, we opened the up the Roomba's casing to see if it was in the sack but it was gone. The weirdest thing was that the sack was fairly clean. Actually, it hadn't been touched at all. It was empty.

Interviewer: Alright… Did you plug in the Roomba while it was still running when you opened the back casing?

Melinda White: Yes. I believe so. He had a rough time holding onto it without getting his fingers in the whatchamacallit's. Luckily the wasn't anywhere close to the middle.

Interviewer: Did you find the coupon afterwards?

Melinda White: No. We looked everywhere around the area and didn't find it.

Interviewer: Have you lost anything else in a situation similar to this?

Melinda White: No, but on times when the roomba died before getting to its charger we do find things that were missing around the house in some strange places.

Interviewer: Name one of those instances for me?

Melinda White: We found a spoon and some spilled frosted flakes in the laundry machine. It was very odd. Why do you ask?

Interviewer: Oh, just simply curious. It is not everyday you hear you find spoons in your laundry washer.

Melinda White: I guess so. Will this be all?

Interviewer: Last question, what color would you like us to send you for your new Roomba.

Melinda White: The same color as the first one.

Interviewer: Grey it is! It was a pleasure talking to you Melinda.

Closing Statement: After the family had finished their interviews and had their memories wiped they received a new iRobot Roomba 860 and they carried on with life as it had been before they began to notice SCP-#762's behaviors. SCP-#762 is now is containment and testing is underway.
