Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4783 is to be contained in a 5m x 5m x 5m windowless/camera-less cell. All facility staff are prohibited from viewing SCP-4783 under any circumstances. All photographs, and recordings of SCP-4783 are forbidden, and will be destroyed immediately; personnel in possession of any form of media relating to SCP-4783 will be severely reprimanded, and evaluated for termination. SCP-4783 is to be fed one live D-class every three days three live bovines every five days, the entity is only able to eat the prey that view and physically harm it.
Due to SCP-4783s visual cognitohazard it is unable to be safely viewed by any creature capable of emotion or thought. In order to know the location of the entity security personnel will use implanted RFID chips that ping location every 30 seconds, this is to ensure its containment. Any personnel exposed to SCP-4783 are to immediately be contained and administered amnestics so they do not remember the appearance of the entity or the false memories caused by it. It is vital that the amnestics are received within the first 32 minutes or the false memories will become much too ingrained. Personnel are prohibited from communication with SCP-4783 until further notice.
If deemed necessary, the highest ranking personnel present is to expected to enact Containment Protocol 4783. In the incident of a containment cell breach by SCP-4783 the highest ranking staff should contact MTF Eta-10 ("See No Evil") as soon as possible. AR-500 “Closing Time” will take effect immediately following the breach to keep SCP-4783 in a localized area and to ensure multiple camera feeds do not need to be scrubbed after the incident.
Description: SCP-4783 is a quadrupedal entity that appears to have a hard rough reddish exoskeleton with bony protrusions visible along its torso. SCP-4783 displays with very sharp appendages on its forelegs, it uses these to mangle and kill their prey, often leaving them unrecognizable before imminent [REDACTED] happens. When viewed, SCP-4783 will sprout additional faces along its torso. Despite the one or more of the faces looking like your loved ones, the faces you see on SCP-4783 are not your loved ones (See Addendum 4783-a).

SCP-4783 is capable of causing a large amount of emotional distress to its victims after it is viewed (See Addendum 4783-b). Those who view the entity will see the faces of their loved ones mangled and mutilated on the body of the SCP-4783, the condition of the faces depends on the individual and their ability to remain calm. The faces you see on SCP-4783 are not your loved ones. A large majority 100% of subjects who have viewed SCP-4783 have reacted quite negatively towards the beast. The most common reaction observed has been abnormal anger and strength towards, causing some subjects to lash out and attempt to attack, although how one reacts is speculated confirmed to depend on the subject. The naturally violent subjects will attempt to attack SCP-4783, if they cannot attack SCP-4783 they will attempt to attack the closest person, if there is nobody nearby they will inflict pain upon themselves. Those who have succeeded on their attacks towards SCP-4783 being [REDACTED] after severe injury caused to SCP-4783. Mentally unstable subjects who view SCP-4783 without physical contact will have their mental stability further deteriorated, sending them into a rapid irreversible depressive state if left untreated for more than 32 minutes, most often ending with the victim taking their own life.
SCP-4783 has a basic vocabulary and is capable of speech, but the voice of the entity will sound different to all listeners, most listeners reporting hearing people they care about, such as family members or childhood friends. Due to SCP-4783s victims and their tendency to attack it upon sighting the entity displays a rather fast regenerative rate following [REDACTED].
Recovery: SCP-4783 was found on █/█/20█ after a reporter went to the town of ████, India to interview some of the residents there and more importantly confess to the creature. But once the reporter heard a little boy that sounded much too similar to his little brother that happened to be missing, he informed the authorities and assumed the residents were holding his little brother against his will. Upon visual contact the authorities fired countless rounds at SCP-4783, as their ammunition depleted they began to physically attack the entity before becoming [REDACTED]. The Foundation was alerted and theorized that it was a visual cognitohazard due to its choice of the town ████.
The residents of ████ were mostly incapable of sight, when asked why they kept the beast around they responded saying that it was apart of their family and they used the entity as a method of coping after losing a loved one. SCP-4783 would sound like whoever the residents desired, giving them a second chance to talk with deceased love ones and hear their voice again. SCP-4783 was given a makeshift house and treated as if it were some sort of confessional booth, the house had no windows since locals who were capable of sight frequently visited the village for this reason.
Notes: SCP-4783 is a sapient creature displaying intelligence equivalent to a twelve year old. SCP-4783 is surprisingly docile, only killing those that harm it to a certain degree. The faces that you see on SCP-4783 are not your loved ones, it is important that you realize this. SCP-4783 appears to feed off of the emotions and distress it causes doesn't particularly enjoy what it is capable of, but is unable to do anything about it, often vocalizing and yelling out for its victims to stop their attacks before it is too late. Regardless of SCP-4783s ability to easily defend itself, it seems to ignore the attacks until a certain point of damage is sustained. Following Test 4783|12 SCP-4783 was confirmed to not cause compulsions. It is theorized that SCP-4783 just brings out the worst in innately bad or violent people, demonstrating subjects poor ability to control their own natural impulses.

Foreword: This interview takes place roughly 3 hours following Test 4783|09.
Notes: 23 days following visual contact with SCP-4783, D-762 was found dead in his containment cell. There was a note written with cruel handwriting that was otherwise unreadable.

Dr. Lyne: Hello, D-762. How are you feeling today and how's your hand?D-762: [Breathing heavily] That thing fucking killed my family, how do you think i'm feeling?
Dr. Lyne: Can you describe what it did exactly?
D-762: [Visibly upset] It… it made them suffer. I can barely even recognize their faces now. Where the fuck is it, take me back down there now.
Dr. Lyne: [Scribbling of a pen could be heard] Listen, that's not going to happen. Relax, your family is fine I assure y-
D-762: [Slams his head repeatedly against the desk] BRING ME TO THE FUCKING MONSTROSITY!
Dr. Lyne: [Stands up and fires a tranquilizer dart into D-762.]
D-762: [Pulls the dart out and begins to gouge eyes out. Shortly after he becomes sedated.]
[Site guards rush into the room.]
Dr. Lyne: Please take him back to his enclosure after getting his injuries looked at again. Keep him monitored until these episodes subside.[Footsteps can be heard leaving the room as D-762 is taken to the medbay]
Dr. Lyne: All subjects and staff are to be administered amnestics after visual contact of SCP-4783, memories of SCP-4783s appearance seem to come back and cause the effect to happen all over again. Think of it like a ticking time bomb, or a landmine just waiting to be activated again.

Addendum 4783-a: At all times there are 6 permanent faces visible along its torso, these do not appear as a loved one. The creature can sprout a various number of faces, so far as many as 66 faces have been recorded on its body, the additional 60 faces were interchangeable and malleable. The faces you see on SCP-4783 are not your loved ones, despite the resemblance.
Addendum 4783-b: The effects of SCP-4783 appear to peak after 32 minutes. All subjects who have been questioned approximately 120 minutes following visual contact of SCP-4783 have reported the beast doing horrific things to their loved ones or significant other, still visibly distraught and disturbed, which also brought back the memories and caused another episode. If left untended to the victim will eventually fall into severe terminal depression, often ending in suicide.
Addendum 4783-c: This is the transcript of the audible log of the third attempt and first successful attempt of communication with SCP-4783.
Testing Log: The following log displays key tests on SCP-4783.
Containment Protocol 4783: In the case of aforementioned containment procedures failing, SCP-4783 is to be lured to a localized area where explosive charges have been planted. Facility staff are to use a distressed D-class as bait, once staff are clear the charges are to be detonated. This will immobilize SCP-4783, allowing it to be re-contained.
