Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is held in a solitary containment pen 10x10x10 sq. meters. Directly in the center a cylindrical column raised 1 meter in the air with three diagonally jutting prongs that hold the object as so it cannot roll freely. Access to SCP-XXXX is granted to those with level 2 security clearance to avoid incidents. Only approved D-class and janitorial staff may enter when deemed necessary. The pen must be cleaned bi-monthly. Dust build up has proved to allow SCP-XXXX to escape its holdings. When security footage was reviewed it was deemed that the dust somehow becomes a source of friction allowing SCP-XXXX to climb in what seems to be an impossible manner. At said time of SCP-XXXX escape was in its darkened state. The area within 5 meters of SCP-XXXX are shaded darker than the remaining 5 meters surrounding it. This is to make determining distance to the object safer than testing.
Description: SCP-XXXX appears like any other mass produced glass marble, measuring 1’½ cm and weighing just over 5 grams. Weight may vary due to its effect on the environment in its vicinity. It currently exists in two states of differing shades. Seemingly random, it will change from an opaque white to an opaque black color. When approaching SCP-XXXX in its white state, once within 5 meters of it, test subjects reported that it felt like they had no solid footing. The reports ranged from feeling like they were standing on sheered ice, or others so aptly reported.
- “Like standing on a layer of marbles.” -D-Class 6934-1
When approached in its darkened state, test subjects reported that they were nearly stuck. Though nothing prevented subjects from moving freely all reported that they felt a large constraint around their legs. Describing the feeling akin to being stuck in a muddy swamp. One of the test subjects was told to only place one foot inside the 5-meter radius around SCP-XXXX and the other out. The resulting effect was that only the foot inside became stuck and the other moved freely. Removing the stuck foot became possible either due to the leverage of the free appendage or perhaps the diminished power of the effect due to only one limb being placed inside the area. The cause is still being researched.
Though classified as safe, access to SCP-XXXX is restricted. Due mainly to incidents involving it and personnel that attempted to interact with it. After multiple personnel falling and injuring themselves or having to be recovered by outside staff. Since the object has been brought to the foundation there has only been one fatality involving SCP-XXXX. Security footage reveals that during this time a janitorial staff member was in the process of cleaning its containment pen. Note that when cleaning the cell, it is necessary to due so when SCP-XXXX is in its lighter state. This allows a staff member to clean while moving slowly on their knees.
While cleaning the pen SCP-XXXX changed to its darker state, thus trapping the staff member. Able to get to his feet but unable to lift or move them the staff member fell into a panic trying to pull his right foot free. A rescue team was dispatched to retrieve him. As the rescue team arrived, SCP-XXXX once again shifted shades. As the stuck staff member was still attempting to force his foot from the floor the sudden change of footing caused the staff member to fall back. The force of the impact to the back of the skull caused several fractures and severe internal hemorrhaging. After three hours in the infirmary the patient succumbed to their injuries and died. It is unknown if this means that SCP-XXXX is sentient or it was coincidence.
History: SCP-XXXX was first discovered when an abnormal amount of accidents and resulting lawsuits were filed against a second hand store called "New beginnings". Multiple civilians claiming that there was water or ice on the floor. There were also memo's of claims that many civilians became stuck in one spot while patronizing the store, having to be helped by the clerk. A lone field agent was sent to investigate the area. Having come into contact with SCP-XXXX while in its darkened state, the field agent was stuck until a security team two days later arrived to investigate the missing Agent. Agent-████ was found severely dehydrated, stuck in the same spot.
After discovering the two forms of SCP-XXXX, it was eventually found inside a small sack of multicolored glass marbles. Approximately thirty(30) other marbles were found, all but SCP-XXXX were mundane. Many injuries were sustained by security personnel in the process of bringing the subject to foundation site-██. Appropriate measures were then taken to secure SCP-XXXX. Deemed too hazardous and time consuming to transfer to a more secure location.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be kept isolated in a small cubic refrigerated containment cell. It is of highest priority to allow no heat signature reading higher then 10 degrees centigrade unprotected into the cell. Level 3 security clearance is required for entry into SCP-XXXX’s cell. Any who enter the specimens cell must wear maximum heat shielding gear as to mask any heat signatures above aforementioned temperature. In the ceiling of SCP-XXXX’s cell is a motorized elevator containment pen measuring 1 cubic sq. foot that contains the subject. This can only be lowered by Security level 3 or higher personnel from the outside access panel.
Once a month the refrigeration cell must be shut down for maintenance. Maintenance must not take longer then 20 minutes risking temperature rising higher than 15 degrees centigrade. Should temperature rise past this level, a security team must be assembled to respond should SCP-XXXX awaken.
Description: SCP-XXXX resembles the shape and structure of a severed human female's right ring finger with a pale complexion. The nail of the specimen seems to always be coated with a deep red nail polish along with a finely manicured point at then end that seems to never dull. SCP-XXXX is extremely hostile in the presence of any creature with hands resembling sapiens. This includes but not limited to all humans/primates/marsupials. With 100% of these cases ending in fatalities when coming in contact with SCP-XXXX.
Initial tests of SCP-XXXX upon arrival at site-██, it was shown that at any temperature above 20 degrees centigrade, the subject will relentlessly attempt escape. SCP-XXXX Has been observed shivering mildly in lower temperature. As if attempting to raise its body heat as is normal in humans. Due to lack of internal systems to flow blood to different parts of itself, this makes SCP-XXXX very susceptible to extreme temperatures. To retain heat it appears to go into a hibernation state when contained properly. The subject will quickly reanimate its self when a heat signature greater than 15 degrees centigrade is present. Tests have shown that with higher the heat signatures the quicker SCP-XXXX will awaken. Human's being the quickest, averaging a time of one minute (1:00). Cold blooded animals have no effect on SCP-XXXX.
In experiment ████ a D-class personnel was put into SCP-XXXX’s outer containment cell. To avoid damage to the containment cell, the specimen’s cell was lowered and opened purposefully. Previous experiments found that current containment was inefficient at containing the aggravated specimen. After one minute twenty-three seconds (1:23) SCP-XXXX became active. Sprouting 4 bone like appendages from its base, which resembled that of an arachnid. At a speed clocked at 5 meters per second, it attacked the D-class.
SCP-XXXX quickly severed the D-class’s right ring finger. The specimen then quickly took the place of the severed finger and grafted itself to the hand. The D-Class maintained a panicked and painful demeanor. After a time of thirty-four seconds (0:34) D-class test subject stopped screaming. Now looking upon SCP-XXXX fondly, needlessly stroking and preening the specimen. Often compliments and mumbling directed towards SCP-XXXX were recorded. Using various pet names such as “Darling” and “Precious”.
Attempts to contact the D-class, were only met with pauses in its rambling to SCP-XXXX. After multiple attempts, the specimen was raised to the D-class’s ear. Nothing was picked up by microphones attached to the D-class. Multiple frequencies were used to attempt to pick up any form of communication from SCP-XXXX. None came to fruition. The D-class could be audibly heard agreeing and complimenting SCP-XXXX’s words. Shortly after the D-class suddenly and violently started to attack the door.
Warned that if they did not calm down they would be terminated, the D-class refused to yield. Eventually the door was pierced by SCP-XXXX’s Nail and began to tear through the reinforced steel door. The experiment was terminated at this point and D-class 2034 was fired upon by the outside accompanying security team and killed. SCP-XXXX Still attempted to attack but seemingly unable to separate its self from the corpse it was still attached to. Security team was ordered to quickly sever the hand the specimen was on and place it back in the containment unit.
After securing SCP-XXXX back in its cell disposal of the body of the remaining D-class was ordered. A Janitorial crew in shielded suits were sent in. Upon attempted removal of the severed finger that SCP-XXXX replaced did it awaken as SPC-XXXX-1. Quickly severing and replacing the finger of the staff member that picked it up. Upon seeing the same reaction happen a second time. Supervising Dr.████ ordered the afflicted staff member terminated with the newly created SPC-XXXX-1 and estimated SCP-XXXX-2 which was severed by SCP-XXXX-1.
It has been determined that SCP-XXXX can turn any appendage severed by the subject, into a SCP-XXXX-1. This Is estimated to be reproduced by any creation of SCP-XXXX. The limits of this process are estimated to be infinitely repeatable.
Addendum: 9/20/19██ A sample of SCP-XXXX’s nail polish that was on the containment cell’s door has been retrieved and awaiting testing. SCP-XXXX Seems to be wearing nail polish indistinguishable from normal store bought Cherry Red nail polish. It is unknown how the subject reacquires, reapplies, or regrows this compound.
Addendum: 1/3/20██ Due to much deliberation over the years and the most recent experiments It is recommended that SCP-XXXX’s class be raised to Keter due to the ease of the waking subject, and escaping its containment. Awaiting staff meeting to discuss.
Addendum: 1/12/20██ The decision to keep SCP-XXXX as Euclid comes with the multiple recaptures with minimal loss of life.
