Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5XXX is to be stored in a large media storage locker at Site 19's Low Value Item Storage Facility. SCP-5XXX can be removed from storage and used for testing by personnel possessing Level 2 clearance or above. Because of the large effective range of SCP-5XXX's effect, Site Director ██████ has requested that SCP-5XXX be placed in storage as far from testing areas, living spaces, and record storage as possible.
Description: SCP-5XXX is a rectangular sign, measuring one meter by one half meter, that reads: "Please, consider the children. Your clean language is appreciated." Being within fifty seventy one hundred meters the general vicinity1 of the sign produces a mild cognitohazardous effect which causes affected persons to self censor all profanities and other explicit dialogue. Topics of censorship have been found to include: profanity, mockery of any religion (including those centered around anomalies) or religious figures, human sexuality, animal breeding, violence, and racial or ethnic slurs and stereotypes. This effect has been shown to work on recordings, writing, and other media as well.
On the back of the sign, in the bottom right corner, is a small sticker, measuring ten centimeters long by eight centimeters wide. The sticker displays a prominent logo for "Dr. Wondertainment™ Industries", with a customer support phone number listed below it. Testing with the customer support number has been approved exclusively for Dr. Arnold, who has been assigned as lead researcher for SCP-5XXX.
SCP-5XXX was recovered from ██████ Elementary School in Jackson, Wyoming. It was discovered in the classroom of Mr. ████████, a third grade teacher. Questioning of the faculty and staff revealed that Mr. ████████ had ordered it from an online catalogue, which the foundation was unable to locate. All individuals known to be aware of its effects were administered amnestics and returned to their homes.
