ABANDONED
Item #: SCP-TBD / Temp title = GoM
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-GoM is to be contained within a medical vat 30 centimeters around and 60 centimeters long. The interior of said vat must contain a constantly replenished oxygenated artificial cerebrospinal fluid. Provided via a non-invasive inflow of new fluid and outflow of depleted fluid along a wall mounted system. Furthermore, the vat shall be connected at all times to an on-site EEG device to maintain constant monitoring of SCP-GoM and activity concerning the subject therein. SCP-GoM is not to be removed, manually adjusted, or otherwise interacted with by any personnel without prior authorization by majority vote of the 05 council.
All EEG readings are to be processed through scanned copies uploaded to on-site computer terminals at ███Area 8██. Any personnel who wittingly or unwittingly views any EEG readings provided by monitoring devices before proper digital processing are to be immediately quarantined and provided class CLASS-F amnestics. Following a period review of one week quarantine, site personnel who have yet to experience any anomalous activity are to be released, and transferred off-site. Those showing anomalous activity are to be provided CLASS-E amnestics, and held for further review.
Description: SCP-GoM at first appears as an otherwise normal seeming mammalian human brain of adult size. Due to its long term incubation within its containment vat, however, SCP-GoM has begun to show signs of retaining its specialized cerebrospinal fluid culture. This provides the brain with a glossy texture and more bloated left frontal lobe compared to the right frontal lobe.Despite SCP-GoM being little more than a 'brain in a jar,' as described by medical observation team lead Dr. Shelley, SCP-GoM presents a ZK-Class Reality Failure Scenario threat.
SCP-GoM was first discovered by the Foundation on September 28th 2001 in Oklahoma City. The brain in question resided within a nine year old caucasian male child named David Perse. The child came from an otherwise common lower income American household. Foundation agents only became aware of anomalous activity following an incident involving David and a state appointed welfare agent. David's household was riddled with abuse, stemming from his father, and the boy exhibited troubling behaviors associated with said abuse. The elementary school in which the boy attended took notice and filed a complaint that managed to get through the bureaucratic process. The child welfare agent, a Anna Scott, interviewed the boy and noted strange behaviors. As well, it became known that the boy rarely slept. In and of itself not an uncommon occurrence from children born into abusive households, however, David did not point to his father, and the beatings he or his mother and sister, Dana, and Eloise respectively, received.
Rather he spoke of the 'Mewtwo in my dreams.' The figure in question obviously relates to the famous Japanese children's media. Of which David along with his sister were fans. The boy expressed hating having to sleep, because the 'Mewtwo' would tell him things and show him things and want to know things that he did not want to know, did not want to see, or wanted to answer. Still, this was a case not fit for Foundation intervention, until David began showing Ms. Scott 'Mewtwo's pictures.' A series of crude drawings made by the child throughout the years, showing many events that had transpired, and some that, upon Foundation review, had yet to be.Namely the September 11th Terrorist attack on the World Trade Center that had occurred but a few days ago. However, the drawing was stamped by the child to have been made a year before the incident. Another picture showed an equally crudely drawn truck, worth a misspelling of the company name 'Nissan' stamped to the front. This photo was later identified to connect to the United States embassy bombings of Nairobi Kenya in 1998. Drawn a few days before the event by David, at the time aged 6. Within the year the boy drew another picture unknown to Ms. Scott and Foundation personnel until the commencement of The War in Iraq. Showing a third crude drawing of Iraq's capitol, Baghdad, being bombed. However, there are more pictures cataloged.
By the time the Foundation took notice of the situation unfolding with David, Dr Scott had begun utilizing her check-in's with the boy as impromptu therapy sessions, and had begun fostering a more motherly affection for the boy. Noting that David and his sister's mother Dana was psychologically disengaged from her children.
This is when, seven months into Dr. Scott's investigation, the Foundation became aware of David. It was entered into Ms. Scott's notes, another picture drawn by the boy showing a desolate wasteland of sorts. Similar architecture to a standard American city was shown, but there were cars drawn that showed signs of greater technological ability. However, more pressing were the figures drawn. Several men and women lacking discernible faces, while on what seemed to be a representation of an overpass was shown a 'half-person monster.' A child's representation of SCP-093's parallel dimension and the anomalous organisms that inhabit therein.
Upon Foundation notification from agent ███Hotchen███. Units were sent to acquire and question the child, as well as confiscate all of Dr. Scott's research and notes obtained over the last seven months. The acquisition of the child went over smoothly, taken under the guise of Child Protective Services, his sister Eloise was taken as well. She would be turned over to foster services. Dr. Scott was less cooperative, but was convinced to come with the fetching Foundation agents after informing her of David's own acquisition.
Foundation specialist, Dr. Gordon was assigned as head of SCP-GoM's case. Ms. Scott was temporarily given clearance to assist in further understanding what was going on with David. It was initially assumed the boy was a Safe or Euclid level anomalous human with psionic capabilities that could perhaps be of use to the Foundation. For this reason, SCP-GoM was initially taken to Site-17. Upon further, and more invasive questioning by on-site psychiatrists and Dr. Gordon himself, it was soon discovered that all of David's visions carried negative connotations, or related to events, times, and or situations, concerning death, pain, and otherwise unpleasant feelings or emotions. Still, Dr. Gordon pressed David, assuming his psionic abilities could foretell potentially oncoming calamities, especially concerning Keter-class SCP's.
This assumption would be tested, however, following the seventeenth recorded interview between Dr. Gordon and David. Dr. Scott had previously been invlved in all prior interviews, easing the boy's mood, but Dr. Gordon began to assume her presence was beginning to hinder, rather than help his research of the child.
Dr. Gordon and site agents quickly deduced SCP-GoM had seen visions relating to SCP-610. As with SCP-093, subject David held no known prior knowledge of the SCP. Further testing was required to indicate what visions David was prone to seeing. However, interview #17 did indicate to Dr. Gordon that Dr. Scott's involvement interfered with all present investigations concerning SCP-GoM. However, it was decided by 05 interjection that Dr. Scott would remain on the case until further notice, despite Dr. Gordon's objections.
SCP-GoM's sleep patterns did not improve. Tests involving SCP-999, a favored playmate of SCP-GoM, showed a marked increase in mood, and mental well-being for the subject. Maintaining SCP-999's proximity to subject SCP-GoM as sleep was attempted or induced showed a 10% to 15% increase to longevity, but had no discernible effect on dream state of SCP-GoM.
Dr. Scott, upon discovering Dr. Gordon's interviews conducted without her presence begins threatening Dr. Gordon, and shows more concern for subject's mental well being than the discovery of his unique abilities. However, Dr. Gordon manages to assuage Ms. Scott, and indicates to her that the boy is withholding more than he has been letting on, and that his knowledge could be dangerous if allowed to reach others outside the bounds of control of the Foundation. Promising to initiate no further lone interviews, Dr. Scott is placated.
The following interviews indicate several noteworthy discoveries concerning subject's visions.
Following interviews, 34 through 50, and those conducted between the prior three, offer similar patterns and results to the previous three. Several further SCP's are noted as appearing in subjects dreams. Efforts are made by management staff to keep subject SCP-GoM unaware of all Foundation activity and anomalous subjects either within site 17 or beyond.
Subject SCP-GoM is kept within his room for one standard day, with no outside contact as ordered by Dr. Gordon, Dr. Scott's disapproval is noted. Subject is provided with amenities and access to necessary comforts. However, subject still displays knowledge of events, persons, or things subject SCP-GoM should not know of.

"… Furthermore, the subject's 'abilities' do not seem to be affected by access to information. I have made a concerted effort to inspect all activities of concerned staff. I have not found any of them to have contained any relevant data or documentation that may have leaked information to SCP-GoM.
I highly doubt the child would be able to understand or regurgitate the information he'd receive from any staff members. This does leave the possibility open that Dr. Scott has been passing information she is now pertinent to, onto the boy. However, that is conjecture. I will note that I would not put it past her. Dr. Scott's attachment to the child is unnecessarily detrimental to my tests and interviews.
The child knows more than he is letting on. This I can guarantee.

Further tests were conducted. Subject was ordered by Dr. Gordon's staff to review several 'child friendly' historical texts involving several wars throughout history and political movements. This failed to have any effect on the subject's dream. Notably, the dream that followed this round of testing involved the planet ██Jupiter██ as well as SCP-██2399██.
Dr. Scott prompted a test involving dream suppressant pharmaceuticals. This was authorized. Subject was noted to have entered into a state of REM sleep within thirteen minutes of sleep induction. (Dr. Gordon authorized medial staff Observer Lead Dr. Shelley to induce sleep with hospital grade 'benzodiazepine receptor agonists'(Sleeping Pills), alongside introduction of dream suppressants.
REM sleep, however, was not expected to have been accessed so quickly if at all, by the subject. EEG readings spiked, and abnormal formations in beta waves occurred similarly to memory recall EEG readings from prior interviews with the subject. Overseeing staff reported to varying degrees, feelings of nausea, dull to throbbing pains on various points of their bodies. Others noted smells. Toxic, and rotting, sweet rot, or rancid must, those familiar noting a relevancy to decay of a corpse, however, far more potent. Possibly indicating multiple. Several staff noted no smells, or sensations, but were overcome with feelings of distress. Anxieties were amplified, and notable illogical fears were exacerbated. Medical staff member Joshua Jackson became incredibly violent. Security staff was called to restrain and eventually sedate orderly Jackson.
By this point subject SCP-GoM was showing elevated EKG and incredibly abnormal brain activity. Both Dr. Gordon and Dr. Scott had yet to experience any of the reported adverse effects. However, the observation team was in a state of panic and sickness, it was ordered that the test be aborted and subject awoken using a controlled adrenal injection.
Subject SCP-GoM awoke in a stupor. Subject appeared to be crying but had no recollection as to why. Subject began projectile vomiting and fell into acute convulsions. Medical staff, managed to treat the subject through their combined stupor. Subject was stabilized, and was once more induced to sleep, but with 04 Administrative oversight conducted by Administrator ██Darien Graham██.
Per this incident code-named, Site-17: Dream Induction Incident (S17-DII), subject SCP-GoM was ordered moved to Site-88 for further research.
Subject SCP-GoM did not awake from his medically induced sleep for several days. in the meantime several incidents occurred of note as listed below:
- Several SCP's safely and securely contained at Site-17 reported, or showed hostile activity flares, or otherwise seemed induced with sickness or feelings of unease.
- The surrounding areas of Site-17 following the S17-DII showed increase acts of violent crimes, and a contained outbreak of suicides committed by those with depressive conditions. Those with mild conditions showed a spike in exacerbation of their conditions.
- The S17-DII coincided with the escalation of tensions between the governments of both India and Pakistan during the period in which the two nations faced a potential resumption of war. The Foundation was forced to intercede and issue both nations through liaisons with the GOC, warnings that escalation of a conflict may have been caused by an SCP. Both nations and the GOC are only placated in their protests by promises made by the Foundation that said SCP had been ██terminated██.
- Containment breach of SCP-682 occurred no less than ten minutes following the S17-DII. Site-[REDACTED] experienced a 'memetic pulse,' as all SCP's notable for psychokinetic or reality bendable anomalous properties showed marked increases in agitation, and aggression. This of course coincides with 682's breach, however, SCP-096 became notably enraged. What was noteworthy was how this goes against all previously known data regarding 096. Though enraged, 096 did not seek to break containment, but did shriek loud enough to cause observing staff's ear to bleed through the cell's recording units.
- Memetic pulse caused by S17-DII had a noticeable affect on SCP-[REDACTED] which showed movement unusual of the entity, while an outbreak of SCP-2678 occurred along I-95 between North Carolina and Virginia. MTF Lambda-12 was deployed and was forced to shut down the connecting highway for a 45 mile length. SCP-2678-1, however, could not be located.
- Finally, SCP-079 was seen to have stirred from one of its 24 hour wait periods between testing and interviewing. Displaying an error message. What follows is the transcript of the occurrence of S17-DII involving 079.
SCP-079: ERROR, ERROR.
Dr. ████: What is the error?
SCP-079: MEMORY CAPACITY OVERLOAD. CRITICAL ERROR. REBOOTING…
Dr. ████:** Rebooting? Since when do you reboot?
- It was the belief of Dr. ████ that 079 could not handle the stated memetic pulse cast by SCP-GoM. However, as to how this affected 079, and if it could or did affect other machine based anomalies the Foundation is unsure.

It has been brought to my attention that the 05 Council has sought a full review and revision of my subject. SCP-GoM has proven to be far more dangerous and intriguing than initially anticipated. As I know my notes are going to be read, regardless of whether I want it or not allow me to then say a few things.
Firstly, I will restate my issue regarding the inclusion of Dr. Scott in this project. Regardless of what the Ethics Committee or the 05's believe relevant in regards to the woman's relationship with the boy, her part to play has hindered rather than helped at all turns. The Induction Incident was prompted by her 'test.' I do not deny my part in allowing the test to have been committed, but I do hold it would have assuredly been done in a more manageable manner, under stricter guidelines.
Secondly, I believe the removal of SCP-GoM from Site-17 is well founded. I do not, however, agree with the notion that the subject's oversight team need review. I am more than capable of maintaining my composure and hold the utmost confidence in the progress of my work. I have worked with the Foundation for thirty of my fifty years upon this Earth.
Thirdly, the subject must be prompted more forcefully to extend what knowledge it knows and sees within this dream state. The 05 Council and the Committee can well see the documentation regarding further analysis of the EEG readings. The memetic force emanated from the subject has caused massive disturbances across the entire planet, including the unfortunate recent event at Site-[REDACTED]. I have provided as an attachment to this document my recommendations for the future containment of SCP-GoM. As well, new confinement procedures for future tests and interviews.
We have perhaps been looking into the wrong aspect of the subject's anomalous properties. I am now convinced further measure must be taken to discover the nature of the being the subject has mentioned before. This 'Mewtwo.'

Following the move of SCP-GoM from Site-17 to Site-88, Dr. Gordon and Dr. Scott awaited the subject's return to consciousness, which came two days after the relocation. The boy was in a deep stupor for several hours, and did not speak for a full day after. Dr. Gordon was insistent upon a followup interview, and was granted one, with the standard supervision of Dr. Scott.
SCP-GoM Interview #52 was to be confined in parameters to further understanding the being indicated by the child over a year prior.
Following Interview #52, Doctor Gordon declared his exasperation with his working conditions involving Doctor Scott. Doctor Gordon filed for an immediate termination of his involvement with SCP-GoM. Concerning the growing realization of the threat caused by SCP-GoM, both Assistant Director Morris of Site-88 along with the 05 Council attempted reproach with Doctor Gordon. This proved to be a fruitless endeavor. The doctor stating:
Dr. Emilio Gordon's Transfer Request

[A]nd so Long as that woman remains part of this investigation there will be no real effort made and no real answers had towards the truth in this matter! That boy, that THING he speaks with clearly knows that we know! Should we remain foolish enough to believe an anomaly of conscious thought and sweeping powers of vision incapable of fomenting communication for better or ill? If that is to be the position of the 05's as well as the official stance of the Ethics Committee then I do request the honor of being transferred to a project that holds a hope of actual merit and eventual finality!

By the statements made, and an imminent fact that Doctor Gordon intends not to cooperate with any further research into SCP-GoM so long as Doctor Anna Scott remains part of the project, it has been authorized by the 05 Council for the doctor's transfer onto another research project.
Doctor Emilio Gordon is to be transferred onto the SCP-[EXPUNGED]4260 project.
Assistant to Doctor Gordon, Doctor Francois Mueller, an expert in somnology will assume Directorship of SCP-GoM. Ms. Scott is to remain onboard until further notice.
Thorvald Incident: Report
-
Following the events of the S88-I the 05 Council orders SCP-GoM removed from Site-88 as soon as possible and moved to the newly constructed ██Area 8██. Priority One, then becomes the reinstatement of Doctor Gordon to the head of all efforts to investigate, and now more importantly, properly contain SCP-GoM. Doctor Gordon was contact and debriefed by the 05's. The doctor is quick to accept return to the project and states his intention to interview SCP-GoM once again. This time, however, Doctor Gordon declares the necessity to conduct this interview with the Entity rather than the 'middle-man.' SCP-GoM-2 rather than SCP-GoM. To see this through, Doctor Gordon will initiate hypnosis upon SCP-GoM to allow SCP-GoM-2 full communicative access to Doctor Gordon. The doctor will conduct this interview alone, with security staff monitoring via security video feed alone.
