Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a containment room on a pedestal. The door to the room must be made of iron or any other material sufficiently hard enough to resist repeating hits with a blunt object and must be locked at all times. No fewer than four (4) armed guards with a 4 or higher MARS (Mind-Affecting Resistance Scale) score are to be stationed at the door at all times. On-site taskforce Rho-43 (Meddling Mongrels) is assigned to Area-43 with orders to immediately secure SCP-XXXX in case of a containment breach. Taskforce Rho-43 is allowed to use lethal force to suppress the individual SCP-XXXX has taken control of.
All personnel assigned to SCP-XXXX are to be subject of intense psychological evaluation at the end of every month. Should any personnel score unsatisfactory results on the evaluation, they should be transferred from SCP-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX consists of 3 items recovered from a village 300 km North of ██████, Wyoming on 2/12/20██ after Foundation agents embedded into local law enforcement recieved reports about a number of disappearances in the area, followed by sightings of "some sort of ghost" as the reports put it. Foundation agents arrived at the scene and set up Provisional Area-43, later Area-43. SCP-XXXX-4 is an entity that is formed after an individual wears SCP-XXXX-3.

SCP-XXXX-1 is a black cloak of unknown material resembling silk. It has increased resistance to tearing and penetrating with sharp obects. It has no other properties and has been deemed least worthy of research or further examination.

SCP-XXXX-2 is a hilt of what was a sword. The blade seems to have been torn off in an unknown way prior to discovery and containment by the Foundation. It is grey in colour, weighs 500 grams and has a length of 15 centimeters. It has several designs engraved with great precision at what appears to be miniature scale. It is thus theorized that SCP-XXXX-2 is not from Earth.

SCP-XXXX-3 is a mask 25 centimeters in length and 20 in width. These values, however, shift to match the dimensions of the wearer's face. The mask is white in colour with the spaces around eyes being coloured dark red. SCP-XXXX-3 is also the host of a consciousness. Unlike SCP-XXXX-2 or SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX-3 affects the user once worn.

SCP-XXXX-4 is the entity that results after an individual wears SCP-XXXX-3. SCP-XXXX-4 takes immediate control of the body of the wearer and attempts to wear SCP-XXXX-1 almost immediately after the subject's consciousness has been replaced with that of SCP-XXXX. Interestingly, SCP-XXXX-4 prioritises SCP-XXXX-1 over SCP-XXXX-2, and will take any measures to reach SCP-XXXX-1. It will not actively seek to find SCP-XXXX-2 but will take it when easily accessible. SCP-XXXX-4 has been observed to provoke increased decomposition to host's body, this process being slowed down by SCP-XXXX-1 by at least ██ days. Normal rate of decay without SCP-XXXX-1 cannot be determined (see addendum XXXX/a and Incident Log XXXX-D)

Addendum XXXX/a: Further research involving SCP-XXXX-1 being kept from SCP-XXXX-4 is strictly forbidden since ██/█/20██ except as approved by on-site director and the written permission of at least 4 members of the Overseer Council (see Incident XXXX-D).

Test Log XXXX-A - 21/2/20██

Subject: D-8912 and SCP-XXXX
Procedure: D-8912 entered SCP-XXXX's containment chamber. On the pedestal were SCP-XXXX-2 and SCP-XXXX-3. SCP-XXXX-1 was stored in an adjacent chamber separated by a regular brick wall.
Results: D-8912 was instructed to wear SCP-XXXX-3, and upon doing so he immediately collapsed and after 5 seconds rose to his feet again as SCP-XXXX-4. Entity appeared to whisper in an unknown language, while it looked around the room. It then picked up SCP-XXXX-2 and walked towards the wall separating the two rooms. SCP-XXXX-4 then lifted its arms and [REDACTED], upon which the wall collapsed in the areas affected. SCP-XXXX-4 was subdued by use of a Molotov cocktail which forced D-8912's body to expire, upon which SCP-XXXX-2 and SCP-XXXX-3 fell to the ground.
Analysis: As presumed before, without SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX-4 is vulerable, being little more than a human wearing a mask. Its ability to [REDACTED] is most interesting.

Test Log XXXX-B - Date 22/2/20██

Subject: D-7420, SCP-XXXX
Procedure: In SCP-XXXX's containment room only SCP-XXXX-3 was placed on the pedestal, with SCP-XXXX-1 placed in an adjacent chamber separated by a 4 meter thick steel wall and SCP-XXXX-2 placed in another adjacent room separated by another steel wall.
Results: D-7420 was instructed to wear SCP-XXXX-3, and upon doing so he immediately collapsed and after 5 seconds rose to his feet again as SCP-XXXX-4. Again the entity appeared to whisper in the same unknown language. It turned around, ignoring SCP-XXXX-2's chamber, and walked towards SCP-XXXX-1's chamber's wall, destroying it just as last time. SCP-XXXX-4 was successfuly subdued in the same way
Analysis: Breaking a 4 meter thick steel wall is no easy feat. No reason to test it again with a titanium alloy, the result will probably be the same.

Addendum XXXX/b: Head Researcher Hammond's decision not to undergo the same test with titanium walls was overruled by O5-9 on 25/2/20██ at 12:35 AM.

Test Log XXXX-C - Date 24/2/20██

Subject: D-4018, SCP-XXXX, four (4) security personnel armed with conventional weapons
Procedure: In SCP-XXXX's containment room was just SCP-XXXX-3, with SCP-XXXX-1 placed in an adjacent chamber separated by a 4 meter thick titanium alloy wall, SCP-XXXX-2 placed in another adjacent room separated by another steel wall.
Results: D-4018 was instructed to wear SCP-XXXX-3, and upon doing so he immediately collapsed and after 5 seconds rose to his feet again as SCP-XXXX-4. It continued to whisper in the same unknown language. It turned around, ignoring SCP-XXXX-2's chamber, and walked towards SCP-XXXX-1's chamber's wall, where he was stopped by the four armed guards who ordered it to step back or be shot. The entity paused and lifted his hand, pointing toward the exit door, as if giving the guards one last chance to leave. When one of the guards pointed his weapon at the entity, it [REDACTED], killing all but one guard who managed to escape the room (see Addendum XXXX/d for an interview with respective guard). SCP-XXXX-4 then proceded to [REDACTED] the titanium wall, just as he did before, however D-4018 expired before SCP-XXXX-4 could reach SCP-XXXX-1.
Analysis: Most informative test yet. It seems that not only is SCP-XXXX-4 powerful enough to tear through 4 meter thick titanium alloy walls, it is also sentient to an unknown degree. I wonder if it understands that the hosts are provided to it for study.

Addendum XXXX/c: Head Researcher Hammond's request to upgrade SCP-XXXX's classification from Safe to Keter in the aftermath of Test XXXX-C approved by O5-9 on 25/2/20██.

Incident Log XXXX-D - Date ██/█/20██

At 9:00 AM, date ██/█/20██ Researcher Hammond authorised another test with SCP XXXX. This test involved removing SCP-XXXX-1 from the containment block in Area-43 and placing it in the barracks under armed guard, then proceeding to give SCP-XXXX-3 a host. SCP-XXXX-4 immediately started a rampage in the containment chamber, killing the four armed guards stationed at the door and moved along the corridors until it reached the barracks, where it [REDACTED]. SCP-XXXX-4 was, eventually, recontained with assistance from MTF Rho 39.
Result: ███ confirmed casualties with █ missing. Establishment of MTF Rho-43 as an on-site taskforce to help contain SCP-XXXX in case of future outbreaks.

Addendum XXXX/d: The things that SCP-XXXX-4 did to reach SCP-XXXX-1 are incredible. Analysis indicates that [REDACTED]. Although we mourn the loss of personnel, we have come a great way to understanding SCP-XXXX-4. Or, better yet, understanding the danger SCP-XXXXX-4 and by proxy SCP-XXXX poses to humanity. Experiments and tests involving SCP-XXXX are to be postponed indefinitely to prevent a possible ██-█████ ███-██-███-█████ Scenario.

Addendum XXXX/e: Although holding great potential for a breakthrough in understanding SCP-XXXX, it has been agreed by Containment Area-43 Command, SCP-XXXX Head Researcher ████ Hammond and O5-9 that under no circumstance is SCP-XXXX-4 allowed to wear SCP-XXXX-1 until Containment Area-██ is ready to store SCP-XXXX. The Foundation cannot risk a containment breach near a populated area, especially since we currently don't know how to stop SCP-XXXX-4 while it's wearing SCP-XXXX-1.
