Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Neutralized Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
None, object was destroyed before word of the anomaly reached the Foundation
Fragments of the plane are to be kept at least 10 meters apart, with closer distances to be allowed on a case by case basis for testing purposes. Under no circumstances should an SCP-XXXX-2 instance be allowed to reach 90% completion. Should this happen, a non-illusory piece should be knocked out of alignment within the resulting SCP-XXXX-3 instance. Music about the Red Baron is no longer permitted to be played at any Site in which a XXXX fragment is kept (See Incident report XXXX/1). No pieces of SCP-XXXX are to be destroyed under any circumstances besides a risk of public exposure, as destroying a piece seems to reduce the amount needed for a XXXX-3 instance. It is theorized that the SCP needs 90% of pieces currently in existence as opposed to 90% of the plane to enter an XXXX-3 state.

Description:
Fragments of Manfred von Richthofen’s final airplane, a Fokker Dr.1 425/17. The plane originally was to be classified as a SCP after reports of it landing itself when Manfred von Richthofen was shot down in it. Before the Foundation could get to it however, the plane had been torn apart for souvenirs by the soldiers at the front. In 2018 it became known to the Foundation that when two or more parts of Manfred von Richthofen’s plane are brought within around █ meters of each other, one will teleport to the other and connect to it like a jigsaw piece, attached firmly but not stuck in place. This effect happens even if the pieces were from opposite sides of the aircraft, in which case one will hover in the relative position and orientation that the two pieces were originally in. This fusion of fragments instances creates SCP-XXXX-1 instances. Further fragments will correspondingly take their place within the XXXX-1 instance until roughly 40% of the plane is assembled. Upon the aircraft becoming roughly 40% complete, it will advance to a SCP-XXXX-2 instance, in which the remaining segments of the plane not in the XXXX-2 instance will be replaced with illusory copies that are not physically present. Further pieces brought near XXXX-2 instances will still attach in the proper place. If fragments keep getting added to the XXXX-2 instance, and the XXXX-2 instance reaches 90% completion, the remaining segments will harden, and the resulting vehicle will attempt to take off and strafe the area. Should an XXXX-3 instance occur in an enclosed area, it will attempt to blast a path clear with its mounted machine guns. These machine guns appear to have no ammunition limitations, however while the bullets themselves disappear a few seconds after they halt movement, their casings appear to remain, and are non-anomalous in nature. XXXX-1, XXXX-2, and XXXX-3 instances have been found to collapse and no longer adhere to each other if one fragment making up them is knocked out of alignment. This has historically been done by:

  • A 9mm pistol
  • An ordinary crowbar
  • A MP5 SMG
  • M2 Browning machine guns
  • An ordinary crossbow
  • Dr. Rei Field's pet toad

Addendum:
If two XXXX-2 instances are brought within █ meters of each other, the effect is identical to the results of two fragments being brought together, with the smaller instance being the one absorbed

May be related to SCP-4217 in that both are military tech that are now autonomously acting military hardware from before the age of autonomous hardware. However, no lifeforms have been detected in or around any instance of SCP-XXXX
