Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX should be kept an appropriately sized aluminium briefcase. This should be placed atop a wooden podium in clear view of surveillance cameras within a 1.5 x 2.5 x 2.5m containment chamber constructed ███m below ground, accessible by elevator in Site-██. The chamber should be fitted with a titanium blast door (45cm thickness) that must be equipped with a weighted pin tumbler lock, a biometric access denial system and a ██-digit electronic permutation lock, the code for which is regenerated every █ minutes using a ████ algorithm. The door code will be displayed on a digital fob for ██ seconds once activated and cannot be activated again for ██ hours. The chamber key and code fob should be distributed to personnel of Security Clearance Level 3-XXXX at the discretion of the Site Director.
Closed-circuit television surveillance of the containment chamber, the elevator interior and the elevator door should be manned by personnel with Tier III Cognitohazard Resistance Training at all times. Supplementary motion detector arrays and thermal sensors should be placed in all aforementioned areas. Mobile Task Force Iota-9 (“Einherjar”) should be alerted to suppress any incursion targeting SCP-XXXX and is required to accompany SCP-XXXX to and from any testing site.
Any persons outside of testing conditions that manifest symptoms resulting from exposure to SCP-XXXX should be quarantined and administered Class C Amnestics until usual patterns of behaviour resume. Any cases of SCP-XXXX-1 that result from experimentation or are discovered within a civilian population should be approached by a Field Agent with an appropriate cover identity and remanded in Foundation custody. Once within foundation custody, all individuals classified as SCP-XXXX-1 should be terminated. Enact VALKYRIE Protocols when containing a case of SCP-XXXX-1 (See Addendum 4 for details).
Description: SCP-XXXX is a paperback book, containing 127 pages and measuring 10.5 x 15 x 1.5cm. The cover is navy blue with yellow embossed lettering that reads “██████ █████████ Ltd., Employee Training Manual 2008”. SCP-XXXX was discovered in the abandoned ███████ Shopping Centre in ███████████, Unite Kingdom by Mobile Task Force Iota 9 after noise complaints in the area were followed by a string of missing persons reports. The Foundation was contacted through existing channels when 2 Police Officers failed to return from the scene. (Full details found in Incident Report XXXX-1) The anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX only manifest when the object is viewed directly by an individual capable of understanding of written language. This applies to live footage of the object but does not include still photography. The reason for this is currently unknown. Any personnel or test subjects displaying Stage 3 symptoms are to be reclassified as a case of SCP-XXXX-1. (See Experiment Log XXXX-A)
