Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: To prevent accidental discovery of SCP-XXXX, all nearby roads and trekking trails in a 500x500 meter radius have been redirected away from SCP-XXXX. To prevent SCP-XXXX-A from spilling out of the well, the borehole of SCP-XXXX must be covered at all times excluding during experimentation. Following Incident-XXXX-1, this method of containment has proven dysfunctional. Thermometers have been inserted into SCP-XXXX's borehole. If at any time the temperature rises well above normal temperatures between 25 to 30 degrees, agents are to be dispatched to prevent SCP-XXXX-A from spreading.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a water well located in a forest to the south of ███████, England. SCP-XXXX is made up of wooden planks made from European Beech trees, and shows signs of decay consistent with the natural decay of most types of wood. SCP-XXXX possesses a borehole that is 46 meters deep, 81 centimeters in diameter and approximately 254 centimeters in circumference. However, the borehole is completely devoid of anything except a white mist that looms near the end of the borehole, preventing the direct bottom from being seen.

SCP-XXXX-A is the name given to an event which occurs regularly with 60 to 80 hour intervals, in which a highly viscous and neon green liquid (designated SCP-XXXX-1) will start to flood up from the base of SCP-XXXX, building up until it reaches the top of the borehole. Once it reaches the top, it will start to ooze from the well, and attempt to flow towards biological matter to consume, enhancing the idea that SCP-XXXX-1 may have a metabolism/require biological intake in order to survive. SCP-XXXX seems to contain an infinite amount of SCP-XXXX-1, and there is no limit to how much of the liquid it can produce. There is currently no way to prevent SCP-XXXX-A, but methods to stop it's progression exist in the forms of incineration and [DATA EXPUNGED]. If SCP-XXXX-1's progression is completely blocked off for a time period of at least 5 minutes, it will start flowing back down SCP-XXXX, effectively reverting the effects of SCP-XXXX-A.
