SCP 4981

Special Containment Procedures: SCP 4981 is currently contained in a neon paint coated heat resistant steel box, 5 x 5 meters in diameter. SCP 4981 is to be under constant surveillance to assure a containment breach does not occur. The box must be coated in any brightly coloured substance. The box is to be re-coated every week to assure successful containment. Level 4 access is required in order to enter SCP 4981's containment chamber.

Description: SCP 4981 is a gelatinous gray mass of unknown origins. It will seek out any object with or without sentience. Any object SCP 4981 comes into contact with it will immediately attempt to absorb it into its body and digest the object. SCP 4981 has a core temperature of 340 degrees Fahrenheit making digestion of objects quite facile. Digestion ordinarily takes approximately 4 minutes to occur. After Digestion SCP 4981 will enact 1 of 2 alternative scenarios. Scenario 1 is when SCP 4981 takes the mass of the digested object and adds it to its total body mass. Scenario 2 is when SCP 4981 takes the mass of the digested object and clones itself with that objects mass, the entity created is hereby dubbed SCP 4981-1. The size of SCP 4981 is dependent on the size of the object digested. When SCP 4981 comes in contact with bright substances it will react in pain, attacking the substance, screeching, running away, and sometimes it creates a whimper sort of noise.

Addendum: The reason for SCP 4981's reactions of pain to bright light appears to be its cells fizzling when bright light comes in contact with them.
The reason for SCP 4981's aggression towards everything appears to be animal instinct. SCP 4981 wants to create a colony of itself. Which is the reason it hunts for anything to eat.
