Greatmaccao's Sandbox
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a standard 2m locked container constructed around its position. Staff should follow standard visual hazard protocols in interacting with SCP-XXXX. Observation of tests is to be carried out remotely via standard-issue cameras.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous region of space located in ███████, Scotland. It is approximately 0.8 cubic metres in size, taking the shape of a greatly simplified horse. The space is transparent and intangible, and chemical analysis shows its contents to be indistinguishable from its surroundings.
The region’s anomalous properties manifest on direct visual observation by any sapient humanoid, upon which the subject identifies SCP-XXXX as an ordinary, non-anomalous piñata. All descriptions of the piñata are consistent with each other, indicating it to be solid purple in colour and suspended in space by unknown means. After 7 seconds of direct visual observation, the subject begins to exhibit violent tendencies towards SCP-XXXX, physically striking at the region it occupies. Although SCP-XXXX is intangible, subjects move as though their strikes are rebounding from a solid object. This effect persists until direct visual contact with SCP-XXXX is broken. Any indirect visual observation of SCP-XXXX has no effect.
Upon being questioned, subjects universally express a desire to obtain what they believe to be the non-existent ‘contents’ of the piñata, descriptions of which vary from food items (typically confectionary) to more unconventional objects, including money or office supplies. The imagined contents have seemingly no relation to the subject, and are typically inconsistent between different interactions with SCP-XXXX, but are never of significant value. If attempts to strike SCP-XXXX continue for more than 3 minutes, subjects report feeling disheartened, claiming the piñata to be undamaged.
