The SCP Foundation, ah…yes, the once strong and powerful, now reduced to dust. The date was 2008 when it happened. Remember the financial crisis of 2008? Sure, this bank did this, and the other one did that, well, that's not all true. You see, the main cause was, as you might have guessed, the SCP Foundation. Here's the run-down version of it.
It all started on any normal day within the SCP Foundation, Obama was inaugurated as president a few months earlier, the USA had hope of a better world, a world of change, an equal and good society free from the hands of corporate greed and reign; Employees within the institute continued their work, guards guarding, researchers researching, Now they made money for the day, bills paid, food paid, clothing paid, all of it…but the O5; Their money continued to stack, stack & stack. Sure THEIR money was enough for any normal person, but that money just continued growing, in fact, it never stopped growing. It wasn’t going anywhere but their filthy pockets.
Now, no SCP caused the crash, no object or entity or anything else beyond human capability had caused the crash. It was really simple what caused it, it was greed, pure evil, and maniacal greed, even more sophisticated and monster-like than any SCP, this was a human ill, a societal ill, a deliberate action, deliberate greed.
Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction…
Greed is not… an instinct, it is not a reaction nor a rightful action.
Greed is a choice, an option & something we could have avoided.

Today we have companies, corporations of all sorts OWNING these SCPs, from the food industry to social media, software, sports, SCPs have been normalized into all aspects of society.
