Description: SCP-XXXX is a high-level reality bending entity capable of altering the universe by granting "wishes" to humans. Physically, SCP-XXXX resembles no known species of animal or reptile on earth. SCP-XXXX possesses two arm-like appendages that jut out from its elongated, serpentine torso. Multiple bony ridges can be seen protruding from its dorsal side before sloping down the anomaly's back and tapering off into a tail. The head of SCP-XXXX appears reptilian in structure but incorporates mammalian aspects. It is divided into two parts: the mandibles and the skull. Two massive and separate jaws act as both the eating and vocal mechanisms for SCP-XXXX. During rest, the mandibles appear as one, but during speech and consumption, they separate vertically at the chin to reveal an outer baleen plate1 and an inner layer of sharpened teeth. The skull is approximately one meter in diameter and houses a complex nervous system array. Nine eyes are arranged in a diamond pattern on the face of the skull and remain open at all times. Penetrative scanning techniques including x-ray and ultrasonic imaging have proved ineffective at determining the internal structure of SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX displays a high level of psionic control and possesses an empathetic omniscience, allowing the anomaly to directly interface with human consciousness. While the anomaly can directly access the thoughts and memories of human beings, it cannot interact with or manipulate them. This anomalous effect permits SCP-XXXX to traverse the human language barrier, granting the capacity to directly sense human intention. However, this appears to be one-sided as subjects are unable to entirely discern the anomaly's method of speaking.
A conversation with SCP-XXXX occurs mentally over the course of approximately three seconds. According to test record data (see Wish Test Log 1A), the initiator of the conversation (now designated SCP-XXXX-1) experiences time normally until the voice of SCP-XXXX is heard, at which point the flow of time appears to stop. Records show that SCP-XXXX uses the voice of a female loved one specific to the subject, usually a wife or mother. Once the voice of SCP-XXXX is heard it becomes inherently apparent to SCP-XXXX-1 that a wish may be made. Upon completion of the wish, reality will be altered in accordance with the wish parameters, and the effects of the wish manifest instantaneously.
Little has been learned in relation to the psychology of SCP-XXXX. Due to communication errors and ineffective thought conveyance, the details regarding SCP-XXXX's intention, motivation, and origin have remained largely unknown. The uncovering of these factors in considered an utmost priority for the containment of the entity.
On 12/22/20██, following a unanimous vote by the O5 High Overseer Council, a team of Foundation scientists headed by Dr. Seymour Walkner was authorized to begin development of code name Protocol Babylon. The goal of Protocol Babylon was to establish a method of communication between human beings and SCP-XXXX that could effectively reduce the odds of wish manipulation. The development team was composed of high ranking Foundation specialists including Foundation linguists, para-casual analysts, and Keter Class Object Containment Professionals. On 1/12/20██ Protocol Babylon was completed. The final product was a functional language that utilizes symbolic imagery to convey thoughts. Protocol Babylon is an extremely acute method of communication, however, only one member of the development team possessed the extreme psionic-resistance required to utilize the language. Dr. Walkner is the only known human capable of conversing through Protol Babylon, likely due to his intimate knowledge in regards to its creation. Dr. Walkner is now an invaluable asset in containing SCP-XXXX.
Addendum 1: In light of the events on 1/13/20██ SCP-XXXX is to receive updated containment procedures. Interaction with SCP-XXXX has been reauthorized due to its newly amicable demeanor. Enclosed below is a written account detailing recorded camera footage of the events on 1/13/20██:
Proceeding the events of 1/13/20██ an interview with Dr. Seymour Walkner was conducted in order to ascertain the nature of his experience as well as the efficacy of Protocol Babylon. The following is a record of this interview:
Immediately following this interview, Dr. Walkner was assigned jurisdiction over all containment procedures related to SCP-XXXX. Over the course of ██ months construction of the new containment facility took place. During this time, SCP-XXXX remained docile and allowed the new containment cell to be constructed around it.
Addendum 2: Data collected by Dr. Walkner's frequent interview sessions with SCP-XXXX has proved to be useful. Unknowns surrounding the entity's intentions and temperament have been uncovered. According to Dr. Walkner, SCP-XXXX means no harm to those affected by its anomalous effects. Research conducted by Dr. Walkner and a team of Foundation linguists have determined SCP-XXXX is unable to differentiate between spoken word and subconscious thought, leading to a misinterpretation of the wishes literal intention. In light of this discovery, all testing with SCP-XXXX has been halted indefinitely, and all communication with SCP-XXXX will be conducted directly through Dr. Walkner. Documents corroborating this discovery are enclosed below.
