Item #: SCP-4194

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4194 is to be contained within a 2x19x1 inch sliding box made of Malaysian rosewood, with a simple, turning combination lock. No personnel are to make skin contact with SCP-4194 at any time, unless otherwise authorized for testing purposes. All personnel are to wear 6 millimeter thick gloves when in the presence of SCP-4194.

Description: SCP-4194 is a small piece of ash wood that measures 18 ½ inches long, 1 ½ inches wide, and 1cm thick. The length of wood is slightly bowed to one side, and one end is pointed. SCP-4194 has markings on it’s uppermost half. It is believed to be from a small piece of fence.

One side reads “Joel”, followed by what appears to be a sun, with flowers connected by vines below that. The bottom 6 inches of this half is blank.
The other side depicts what appears to be another sun inside of a box, with raindrops falling towards a seemingly unfinished flower vine. The bottom 9 ½ inches of this side are generally barron, except for a few markings, such as a simple circle and a few unidentifiable marks that appear to move with any observers eyes.

It’s first sighting was in [Redacted], Florida, on [Redacted] beach when Mr. [Redacted] noticed a seemingly homeless male burning these markings into SCP-4194 with a magnifying glass. SCP-4194 was reportedly left behind and remained untouched for 42 hours. Upon physical contact with SCP-4194, Mr. [Redacted] describes that he had felt a burning sensation throughout his entire body, and that he had collapsed due to the physical pain he had felt.

When SCP-4194 comes into contact with any human’s bare skin, they immediately begin to feel a burning sensation, particularly around the arms, face, and chest. Burn markings similar to those found on SCP-4194 begin to appear on the subject approximately 12 seconds after direct contact, and the entire body begins to steam. The burning appears to stop at approximately 3 minutes after contact. While being burnt, subjects may attempt to attack personnel, but all attempts have failed as the subject will collapse from pain before harm is done.

Further testing of SCP-4194 have been discontinued due to the lack of any substantial evidence of its importance to the foundation. SCP-4194 can not cause death, but will scar any subject indefinitely. Any and all requests to use SCP-4194 as an interrogation device are to be denied, and is only permitted for use as a weapon by Dr. [Redacted] in the case of a containment breach.
