Image Capture of Individual Instance of SCP-XXXX — Copy #479
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Special Access Designation: CODE SAPIEN MOBIUS GREEN
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: All Mobile Task Force members and Site Security personnel are prohibited from vocalizing the SCP-XXXX trigger phrase under any circumstances. All instances of SCP-XXXX Alpha Events are to be logged and all MTF on site are to report any MIA personnel after every engagement. Photographs of SCP-XXXX are to be reproduced at 6-hour intervals with the subsequent copy replacing the photographs in use.
Description: SCP-XXXX are two anomalous events that occur to Mobile Task Force units and Site Security personnel undergoing heavy combat operations. Specific circumstances must be met before an SCP-XXXX occurrence:
- The MTF unit must be facing a “Last Stand” scenario where extraction is no longer viable.
- Reinforcements are unavailable at present or cannot be deployed without further loss of life.
- The MTF unit’s numbers have been reduced by at least 50%.
When all requirements are met, the beleaguered MTF unit may utter the phrase "We are code █ Omega."1 to their superiors over the radio. This is the trigger phrase2. All attempts to expunge knowledge of the phrase from Foundation's MTFs have met with minimal success. It is now hypothesized that knowledge of the phrase and what it does are being anomalously spread.
Shortly after the trigger phrase is uttered, an SCP-XXXX Alpha Event will manifest in the form of a heavily armed group of anomalous humanoids materializing within 100 meters of the embattled MTF unit. These will most often materialize on foot, but will sometimes appear embarked upon outmoded military vehicles, depending on the severity of the situation. They will immediately initiate combat operations against whatever force or entity is threatening the MTF. Instances of SCP-XXXX during an event may vary in number from 1 to ████, and appear to possess spectral qualities; passing through walls, underbrush, and other obstacles without difficulty.
Individual instances of SCP-XXXX appear to be wearing tactical body armor in varying states of disrepair, full mask respirators with cracked or shattered visors, damaged helmets, and bear torn, antiquated patches reminiscent of Foundation MTF units. They will ignore all attempts at verbal or radio communication but seem to execute maneuvers that complement whatever tactics the MTF unit will employ. Instances of SCP-XXXX also do not appear to communicate with each other during these maneuvers, neither through vocalization nor hand signals as with conventional military units.
Though appearing to be armed with standard military-grade firearms and explosives, SCP-XXXX weapons will cause significantly more damage to both non-anomalous and anomalous entities than their standard counterparts, often capable of destroying even high level reality-bending entities. Euclid and Keter-class anomalous creatures that by their nature cannot be destroyed are merely rendered unconscious or stunned for several minutes. Individual instances of SCP-XXXX cannot be physically harmed except by anomalous means and will quickly de-materialize when heavily damaged. However, the same vanished instance another instance bearing similar or identical gear will appear a number of seconds later in approximately the same area, and will show no sign of any damage previously suffered in the engagement.
Instances of SCP-XXXX cannot be detected on either infrared and ultraviolet equipment, and appear to be blurry or out-of-focus when viewed through video recording devices. They also do not trigger motion sensors. All photographs taken of SCP-XXXX will invariably degrade at a notably accelerated rate, crumbling to nothing in less than 36 hours. Artistic representation yields conflicting results, as the artist will find themselves sketching or painting a member of the survivors rather than an instance of SCP-XXXX. Other methods of image reproduction are still under study.
INTERVIEW LOG:
The following interview is lifted from the Tribunal-Martial of Agent ███ ██████, former leader of MTF Phi-8 ("Grail Knights"). MTF Phi-8 engaged in a protracted firefight between elements of the Chaos Insurgency and a local Sarkist Cult in the province of █████, in the Philippines. The team's situation was deemed too critical for exfiltration to be possible as they were tasked with securing an ancient [REDACTED]. Of the thirteen original members of MTF Phi-8, only Agent ██████ and two others survived.
Interrogator: Good morning, Agent. I assume you already know why you and your team were put in a holding cell and why you are now here in front of me?
Agent ██████: Yes, Sir. I’m being punished for trying to save my men.
Interrogator: We will get to your charges in a minute. For now, I need you to recall the specifics of your mission for the record.
Agent ██████: Yes, Sir. On May 28, ████, a mining corporation working on an isolated corner of the island of █████, uncovered a possible thaumaturgical prison buried one hundred and eleven meters below the surface. The site allegedly contained [REDACTED] who by local myth supposedly taught the natives how to reshape their bodies in whatever way they wanted. Our on-site intelligence indicated that a Sarkist cult had already established itself some weeks earlier in a small village just two clicks from the site. My team was supposed to roll on the site, order the mine operators to evacuate, then secure it.
Interrogator: Standard protocol. Then what happened?
Agent ██████: The mine operators had all been turned. Some kind of illness had [REDACTED] human, but they were moving too fast. The last two ganged up on Velasquez before we could put them down. No one could save him. That's when we realized we were surrounded. The cultists had dug a tunnel leading up to the edge of the mine. Hearing our shots, they snuck up on us.
Interrogator: Is that when the helicopter began its attack run?
Agent ██████: That's right, Sir. I don't know what the Insurgency puts on their gunships that makes them so damn quiet but we didn't notice the thing until it was practically on top of us. Its first pass killed two of my men, about a dozen of the Sarkists, and took out one of our TLVs. One of my men tried to get to the other TLV and got three 5-inch holes through his chest for the effort. Things were quickly spiraling out of control at that point. So, we puffed smoke and double-timed into the mine to hunker down.
Interrogator: Did you attempt to call for reinforcements?
Agent ██████: Are you kidding me, Sir? We started broadcasting reinforcement requests the moment the Insurgency showed up. We were outnumbered and outgunned out there. Ask the damn field commander, ask Chu! [REDACTED] All the while, me and Rogers kept up suppressing fire outside. But it wasn't doing much. The insurgency guys had some kind of personal energy barrier system, our bullets just pinged right off — How the hell did they even get those? — And the Sarkists wouldn't stay down no matter how many times we shot them. The new Type-6 rounds were useless, we would've been better off with standard hollow-points. The only reason we hadn't been overrun was because they were mostly too busy killing each other to make a real attempt at the mine.
Interrogator: That is quite harrowing. Where was the entity during this time?
Agent ██████: Right. That thing. It was behind us, kept jumping out from adjoining tunnels. Devon, Shaw, and Martinez finally cornered [REDACTED] and were wrestling with it for ten minutes. Finally, Devon was able to drive his knife into the thing's eye. It scrabbled back into the dark after that. We chose not to pursue. It was just Devon, Martinez, and me at that point. That's when I made the call.
Interrogator: What about Agent Schäfer?
Agent ██████: What? No, that guy died years ago. Lost in him 02' or sometime around there. Why would you bring him up?
Interrogator: You are mistaken. Your video logs as well as your vitals monitoring equipment clearly indicate that Agent Schäfer was one of the four survivors before you made the call.
Agent ██████: That's impossible. I want to see those logs!
Interrogator: Yes, we will allow the viewing of the logs. Though they show he was heavily injured, they do not indicate how he was lost after the engagement. You've made no mention of him in your after-action report.
Agent ██████: I have no idea what you're talking about, Sir. Are you just going to charge me with getting a dead guy killed too?
Interrogator: No, Agent ██████. We are merely trying to establish corroborating evidence. But, let's move pass that for now. What happened after you issued the… "call"?
Agent ██████ stares angrily at the Interrogator for several seconds, then appears to take a deep breath and begins speaking again.
Agent ██████: There wasn't any indication that they were coming. One second, there was nothing there, the next, we started hearing automatic weapons fire and explosions coming from outside. That's when we heard the weird static on our comms.
Interrogator: Static?
Agent ██████: Yea. At first I thought there was another unit out there tuning in to our frequency. But that wasn't it. The sounds were… strange. Like the battle was bigger than it was, you know? I could hear some kind of orders being shouted, people dying, crying out in pain. I couldn't really make out what they were saying, it felt like they were a mile away, faint and fading in and out, but it sounded like one hell of a fight, a losing fight. Devon and me quickly approached the small barricade we made at the mouth of the tunnel, Martinez following close. We saw them then, and suddenly we didn't care what we were hearing… The sight of it was absolutely perfect.
Interrogator: Perfect? That's rather a unique way to put it.
Agent ██████: You wouldn't understand, Sir. You know I'm an ex-██████, right? I've been around. SCP-XXXX's maneuvers were executed with more precision than anything I've ever seen. They took out the Sarkists from four different directions. I don't know what kind of rounds the Skips were using, but they were gunning down those mutated cultists with double taps to the head, and not a single one of those fuckers got back up again. And the Insurgency? Oh, man, they switched their fire as soon as they saw them. Didn't make a difference though. Bullets and grenade shrapnel went right through the Skips. The gunship even did a pass with its directed energy weapon right before it was brought down. Nothing, they just kept going…
Interrogator: I see. looks through his pad Your report also indicates that a few instances of SCP-XXXX entered the mine as well.
Agent ██████: They didn't "Enter" the mine, Sir. They were already there with us. The sudden gunfire behind us nearly made us shit ourselves in surprise. We looked back to see two guys facing away from us, rifles firing on full-auto at something deeper in the mine. After a few seconds of sustained fire, they turned around and walked right through us as if we weren't even there. That's when we realized that the thing was over. The weird static had stopped and it had all gone quiet outside… You know, come to think of it, one of them kind of looked like Schä—
Interrogate: Did you verify what they were shooting at in the mine? Was it the entity?
Agent ██████: Yea, Devon and I verified that it was dead… Agent ██████ grins And was on fire. They shot it with incendiaries. And yes, we tried to put it out to try to recover tissue samples, but the fire wouldn't go out until all of it was destroyed. Didn't even leave ashes.
Interrogator: Okay. Let's take a step back. It has been almost twenty years since that call phrase was phased out of circulation. Tell me, how did you even come to know about it, or even know to use it to trigger SCP-XXXX in the situation you were in?
Agent ██████: I heard about it from… No, I read about it. It was in the… Agent ██████ looks around, appearing to be confused Sir, I'm afraid I don't—
Interrogator: You don't know how you acquired knowledge of a phrase that manifests an SCP? You are aware that if you call upon SCP-XXXX, you are effectively instigating a containment breach, an action that should be antithetical to any MTF agent.
Agent ██████: Look, I don’t care what you call it. I’m not sacrificing my men when I know I can save them… Sir.
Interrogator motions for viewing equipment to be brought in and Agent ██████ is shown specific parts of the unit logs that clearly display Agent Schäfer interacting with the rest of the team and then surviving the battle with the other three members of the team.
Interrogator: Even if the cost is one of your men?
Agent ██████: What are you talking about? You just showed me a bunch of logs of me, Devon and Martinez!
Interrogator: …I see. Agent ██████, as you are well aware, the Mobile Task Forces' sole purpose to the Foundation is to secure, contain and protect anomalous objects, entities, and sites. Instigating a containment breach is never an option, especially when the breach leads to the destruction of said unclassified anomalous objects, entities, and sites. Though your men may escape with demotion, I'm afraid the penalties to you will be far more severe.
Agent ██████: agent sighs I’m going to let you in on a little secret. We’re all prepared to die out there. We go through the briefings, we make our letters, and we all sign the damn waivers… But, just because we’re ready to die, doesn’t mean we want to!
Interrogator: So, you believed you are justi—
Agent ██████: No, asshole! It isn't a justification! When the shit hit the fan out there, we each shared that look. The look of men who have resigned to a situation we can no longer control and have resolved to continue going through it. That is when I made the decision to make that call. If one of us needed to be sacrificed for the others to live, we’d do it. Me included. And I would do it again! …I was just wondering why it didn't take any of us.
Interrogator: interrogator writes briefly on his pad, then is quiet for a few seconds Yes, in the short term, you may save your men. However, I invite you to consider this, you and those like you are all too willing to unleash an unknown anomaly into an extreme situation for the men and women you know. Yet, the Foundation is supposed to look above that. To the billions of people who could potentially pay the price for your willing sacrifice. We do not watch out for just each other. We secure, we contain, and we protect for everyone. Do you believe that your men are worth more than everybody else?
Agent ██████: No, I—
Interrogator: Thank you. Your statements have been logged, Agent ██████. You will be escorted back to your cell until the Tribunal.
Following the Tribunal-Martial, MTF Phi-8 was disbanded and all personnel previously assigned were routed to other projects.
Although no active radio signals have ever been detected originating from any instance of SCP-XXXX, faint cries of pain and barely discernible orders as if desperately shouted from a great distance can be heard on the unit radios of any MTF member undergoing an Alpha Event.
An SCP-XXXX Alpha Event will usually end when all immediate threats to the MTF unit have been neutralized. After which, the instances of SCP-XXXX will seem to evaporate into mist, leaving no discernible residue. It is at this point that an SCP-XXXX Bravo Event will occur. A tally of all surviving MTF members in the unit will invariably indicate that one of them is missing. The missing individual will usually be the most injured or eldest member of the unit. All members of the surviving MTF will always remember the individual as having “died years ago”, but will not recall the exact circumstances of the individual’s death. This anomalous effect seems to only partly affect non-MTF witnesses, who often confirm the presence of an extra survivor but will be unable to recall anything specific of the survivor, such as his or her features, name, age, or even gender.
Even when all members of an MTF within an Alpha Event are observed continuously through electronic and digital means, a two-second interruption in the feed will temporarily render the display in static, during which time the Bravo Event will take place. Visual and audio records of the engagement up until the Bravo Event will remain unchanged. However, when shown these logs, each surviving member will always indicate that it is another surviving member of the team that they are seeing. In situations where there is a lone survivor, they will strongly claim that they are merely talking and acting out situations with themselves, and will often suggest that they may need psychiatric treatment. Despite extensive area search and retrieval operations, neither the body nor any trace of the equipment of the missing personnel will be found. Subsequent manifestations of SCP-XXXX will include the missing member.
The following displays the mission statements of various MTF operations and Security Breaches, and the subsequent appearance of particular instances of SCP-XXXX across a variety of situations.

Mission: A collection of twenty 2-meter cubes retrieved from a raided warehouse purportedly owned by Anderson Robotics are brought in for evaluation and classification. Each cube is checked and scanned in accordance with standard protocol, showing no detectable energy signatures nor visible access panels. The cubes are subsequently put into a standby containment area until further tests can be run. After 28 hours of inactivity, containment area footage reveals that the cubes suddenly expanded and transformed into small mobile weapons platforms, sporting four narrow segmented legs, a central armored core, and what appeared to be magnetic accelerator weapons mounted on both arms. All twenty of the weapons platforms explosively breached their containment area and began seeking out site personnel.Surveillance cameras captured the majority of on-site security engaging the cube platforms, but were only able to destroy a single unit before being overwhelmed. Site resistance was subsequently scattered and disorganized. The cube platforms prove to be capable of repairing themselves, and were later revealed to be constructing more of their number from the composite materials in Site 53 by means of [REDACTED]. All outbound radio communications were disrupted as one of the platforms were able to gain access to the Site's communications hub. Oddly, the platforms did not initiate any containment breaches, and it was later suspected that these were not errant machines that were accidentally activated, but rather an attempt at a Foothold Scenario whereby an outside faction was attempting to gain control of one of the Foundation's containment sites and all its classified materials.
Alpha Event: Out of the four hundred site personnel, only fifty-five research members and a single guard were able to escape into the high security containment wing, where a solid Tungsten-█████████ alloy door was activated. It was later evaluated that the guard spoke the trigger phrase out of desperation into his short-ranged radio, which initiated the SCP-XXXX containment breach. On-site footage revealed that a dozen indistinct instances of SCP-XXXX manifested from various locations across the site, executing a precise multi-vectored attack which caught the majority of the cube platforms by surprise. While the automatic weapons of the site security personnel proved of little effect to the platforms, the automatic weapons of SCP-XXXX appeared to easily tear through the unknown metal of the cubes, puncturing some type of volatile core within each machine, leading to small detonations that eventually left little to no trace of the platforms.
After-Action: A total of twenty-six platforms were destroyed in the SCP-XXXX event. All fifty-six survivors were rescued from Site 5, which resumed operations after two months. A comment from the survivors indicated that a second guard may have been present. Review of the on-site surveillance footage does show another guard had indeed escaped the cube platforms' initial onslaught, however, directly after the Alpha-Event, the guard disappeared and no identifying articles of clothing nor gear was left in evidence.

Location: ███████ Border, Mongolia
Mission: The Foundation is alerted to an anomalous location in Western Mongolia where a platoon of Mongolian Armed Forces soldiers reported that they had discovered a large city in the middle of nowhere, seemingly to have sprung from nothing. Preliminary descriptions by the soldiers detail multiple towering structures made of a material that seemed "to absorb all light". Shortly afterward, all contact is lost with the platoon. The Foundation intercepts the platoon's comms and deploy two 8-man MTF teams to assess the situation. Upon arrival to the area and subsequent exploration, team footage revealed a walled city of twisting spires that pulsed with electrical discharges and structures that seem to be covered in bleeding veins that oozed purple liquid. Several large banners are spotted, and analysis of the glyphs on the banners identifies them as Daevite symbols. Contact with the teams become intermittent as they probe deeper into the anomalous city (which is estimated to cover over 40 square kilometers). One of the teams reports contact with some sort of hostile entity, shortly before all communication is lost. When the Foundation re-establishes communication with the MTF teams a little over 5 hours later, they have suffered heavy casualties and were attempting to exit the city. Remote footage noted the presence of numerous anomalous hostile entities carrying archaic weaponry, including the re-animated corpses of the Mongolian Army patrol, which proceeds to attack the MTF survivors with automatic weapons. The team leaders confirm the presence of a possible copy of SCP-140 in the hands of an individual that claims to be the High Daeva of the City of Askalidros4. Communication with the teams remain intermittent, and several requests for reinforcements are received by On-site MTF Command. However, the closest armed response teams are still over a day away by helicopter. It is at this point that some of the survivors suggest calling in SCP-XXXX, which the remaining team leader explicitly denies. Yet, as the two teams are reduced to one, with several members wounded, a dying MTF member is able to convince the team leader to relent.
Alpha Event: Team footage revealed that only seven seconds pass before the closest oncoming horde of Daevites are hit by what appears to be a mortar detonation. Several more mortar shells fall around the small structure that the survivors have holed up, clearing the immediate area of threats. Seeing their opportunity, the survivors move out of the structure and attempt to make their way to the city gate, almost two kilometers away. The five survivors, all wounded, including the last team leader, witness over a hundred instances of SCP-XXXX engaging in street to street fighting, easily gunning down all Daevite cultists they see, and destroying Daevite strong points with the judicious use of handheld grenade launchers and mortars. As the survivors clear the gate, a series of loud cracks could be heard coming from a nearby hill. The five excitedly note the presence of what appears to be two antiquated Self-Propelled Howitzers beginning to pummel the city, with such incredible reload times that the two 203 mm guns were essentially firing every two seconds. Though the team leader attempted to halt the bombardment by yelling and approaching the gun operators, they ignore his presence, his physical attempts to intercede passing right through them.
After-Action: The five remaining MTF members could do nothing but look on as the alleged City of Askalidros is completely destroyed. When the MTF reinforcements arrived the following day, they find little trace of the ancient city except for the barest of smoking ruins, all anomalous properties had been completely neutralized. Of significant note is the fact that all references of Askalidros seems to have self-deleted from SCP-1405, and the copy of SCP-140 previously held by the supposed High Daeva is assumed to have been also destroyed in the SCP-XXXX's bombardment. When the survivors were recovered, there were only four remaining. Of the team leader, no trace of him could be located. For their role in the SCP-XXXX containment breach, each of the members were either demoted in rank or discharged from MTF service altogether.

Mission: During initial transport to a new fortified facility, exactly six days from its previous containment breach, at 04:40H local time, SCP-076-2 had reanimated and initiated another breach while still being unloaded from the transport aircraft. Fifty armed MTF and security personnel were present when SCP-076-2 rapidly emerged from his sarcophagus (SCP-076-1). Despite the timely actions of the MTFs, SCP-076-2 was able to subdue or terminate all surrounding personnel, including both aircraft pilots and the service crew. The gunfire combined with the proximity to the aircraft fuel line inevitably led to a fuel detonation, which destroyed the aircraft and incapacitated the surviving MTFs. SCP-076-2 then proceeded to cut his way into the Foundation-controlled airbase. An investigation of the events would reveal that the SCP-XXXX Containment Breach that later occurred was actually initiated by Air Traffic Officer, █████ Johanssen.Getting off from a late shift, Officer Johanssen had asked her husband to pick her up from work that morning. Positioned in the base's administrative wing parking lot after being cleared at the gate by Johanssen, the husband would later attest that he had heard the explosion of the aircraft, and attempted to enter the administrative building to search for "someone" (likely Officer Johanssen). In the confusion, the base personnel had failed to stopped him. At this point, SCP-076-2 had quickly killed all the remaining MTFs on the base and had already started on the lightly-armed base personnel. Finally encountering her husband in the building, both of the Johanssens attempted to leave the structure and exit into the parking lot, but found their way blocked by SCP-076-2, who was in the middle of slaughtering the base's guards. Retreating back into the structure, they resolved to hole up in one of the less used offices, as the base commander continued to request reinforcements6. With death now stalking the halls of her building and her only family trapped with her, Officer Johanssen lifted a radio from a dead guard and spoke the SCP-XXXX trigger phrase.
Alpha Event: Base surveillance cameras captured the multi-vectored entry of three instances of SCP-XXXX, walking straight through the walls to engage SCP-076-2. Oddly, instead of engaging SCP-076-2 at range as is their usual modus operandi, instances of SCP-XXXX were witnessed to have suddenly re-slung their firearms, and then drew rusted or chipped combat knives from hidden sheaths. More curious, SCP-076-2 did not immediately rush the instances of SCP-XXXX, instead briefly embedding his shadowy weapon into the ground and executed a fluid [REDACTED]7. A second after SCP-076-2 concluded, he was immediately assailed by the three instances of SCP-XXXX. Though the footage is blurry, it is clear that SCP-076-2's shadowy weapons can indeed terminate and de-materialize instances of SCP-XXXX. However, a short amount of time after being terminated, a new instance of SCP-XXXX, wearing identical equipment to the slain instance will manifest almost exactly in the same spot. This pattern persisted until SCP-076-2 was eventually overwhelmed from multiple stab wounds.
After-Action: Officer Johanssen's husband is retrieved from one of the offices of the administrative wing. In the succeeding interviews, Mr. Johanssen swore repeatedly that there was someone with him throughout the event, soothing his fears and telling him it was going to be okay, however, he confesses that he cannot recall who the person was nor even described them in any detail. He expressed confusion as to why he was at his wife's old workplace when she had passed away years before, and now somehow felt as if he had lost her all over again. Suffering from shock and depression, the Foundation research personnel administers Mr. Johanssen with a mild amnesic after his debrief, and decide to provide him with continuing psychiatric care. SCP-076 is re-sealed and finally arrives at Containment Area 25b where its current containment protocols were rigidly followed up until [REDACTED].

Location: ███████████, Jordan
Mission: The Horizon Initiative contacts the SCP Foundation concerning a terrorist group claiming to be an organization in allegiance to the Black Queen. Their threat video shows these terrorists to be in possession of an anomalous device capable of "summoning demons" to assist their cause, clearly materializing two hulking dark humanoids with bat-like wings and suffused with what appears to be smoke. The Horizon Initiative stated that they have been trying to retrieve the device for five months ever since it was stolen from their vaults by the terrorists, but the winged entities are able to withstand incredible amounts of damage before being destroyed and all Initiative attempts to storm the bunker network and take the device by force have failed. They believe the Foundation is capable of nullifying the entities' anomalous toughness with technology, namely a Scranton Reality Anchor (SRA). As SRAs are proprietary properties of the SCP Foundation and their use is highly regulated, the Initiative allowed the Foundation to send in a three-man Technical Support team along with a contingent from MTF Theta-7 "Cross Bearers" to serve as escort. In the subsequent engagements, the Scranton Reality Anchors proved to be over 90% effective against the winged entities, allowing the Horizon Initiative and MTF Theta-7 to make quick work of the sizable anomalous forces that the terrorists had gathered. The Initiative was eventually able to retrieve their device. However, as the support team prepared to pull out, several members of Theta-7 turned their weapons on their fellow MTFs, declaring their intent to capture the SRAs and defect to the Horizon Initiative. Fortunately, the members of the support team were able to send off a distress call before they were subdued and the rest of MTF Theta-7 that were on standby just outside the city descended on the defectors. Though the combatants of the Horizon Initiative at first attempted to assist the defectors, their casualties from both the strike against the winged entities, and now a firefight with Foundation MTF personnel, proved to be too costly and they retreat before things could escalate further. As the rest of Theta-7 encircled the last of the defectors' positions, the traitors' leader is able to speak the SCP-XXXX trigger phrase into his radio to the stunted reactions of the other MTF members, some appearing to be aware of SCP-XXXX rumors.
Alpha Event: Footage from the monitoring equipment left at the bunker access shaft displays a single out-of-focus instance of SCP-XXXX entering the shaft and then walking at an unhurried pace towards the site of the defectors' position. Upon arrival, the instance quickly approached the Theta-7 defectors and [DATA EXPUNGED] repeatedly screaming what sounded like radio chatter of some kind of battle, as the other two continued to weep and convulse on the ground [DATA EXPUNGED] reported to Command, confirming the death of all the defectors.
After-Action: The three technical support personnel were eventually rescued, displaying only minor injuries that were treated by the Theta-7 medics. All Scranton Reality Anchors were accounted for8, though a number of units were damaged. A Board-of-Inquiry was later convened to investigate the circumstances of the incident of the defectors. The entirety of MTF Theta-7 faced a grueling three months of performance reviews, personnel interviews, psychological analysis, and [REDACTED]. The disbanding of Mobile Task Force Theta-7 occurred on April 22, ████, and the dismissed personnel readily redistributed to other departments.

Location: ████-██████, Romania
Mission: Five agents of MTF Epsilon-6 "Village Idiots" are sent in to investigate a possible SCP-2480 manifestation in western Romania. The agents are equipped with a more refined version of the N,N-Dimethyltryptamine solution originally used by Dr. Narváez. Within 24 hours, the agents confirm the Foundation's suspicions; the town is indeed a growing instance of SCP-2480. During the operation, the agents rescued a woman being held in the basement of one of the abandoned houses in town. She was bound to the wall of the basement with red fibrous strands resembling muscle tissue, and the woman's feet seemed to have been amputated from the calf down. After being cut free, she tells them that she knew who they were and directs them to escape, claiming that she was a Mekhanite Officer and had planted what she referred to as a "Herald Shard" at the center of the town. She warns them that they only had less than an hour to leave the town before it is "Perfectorized". The agents attempt to contact MTF Command for extraction, but only get back static. It is at this point that three quadrupedal creatures with needle-like teeth and possessing no eyes enter the basement, followed by a figure robed in what appeared to be human skin. The woman quickly directs the MTF agents to open fire on the figure but to only look upon it peripherally. Given their information on SCP-2480 and having no other valid option, the agents duly comply and the figure is gunned down along with the three creatures. Two agents then shoulder-carry the woman and the team exits the house. However, they are quickly intercepted by more hostile entities. One agent is aggressively dragged away by vine-like tendrils running along a wall, another is eviscerated by an entity that possessed foot-long claws dripping in blood and ichor. The running battle takes a turn for the worst when the three surviving MTFs and the Mekhanite woman fall into a hole that had rapidly grown in size when they approached. The survivors land in the filthy fluids of the town's sewers, where they are immediately attacked by lamprey-like creatures that quickly devour two more MTF members. The Mekhanite woman asks the remaining operative to leave her as there is no meaning in giving the town two more bodies to consume, but the agent staunchly refuses and directs the woman to use his weapon while he carries her up a ladder.
Alpha Event: As the hostile entities surround them after they emerge from the sewers, the Mekhanite woman notices that the agent seemed to be having an internal argument, muttering something about initiating a containment breach, then whispering into the radio. The woman lets out an obscure expletive as six "phantom soldiers" materialize around them and begin firing in all directions, easily gunning down the surrounding robed figures and hostile entities. Clearing the area, the phantom soldiers seemed to just stand there and "wait" for the agent to start moving, who gingerly lifts her again in both arms and starts to run. The phantom soldiers perfectly keep pace with them, either shooting down quadrupedal creatures or throwing thermite grenades at the vine-like tendrils. At one point, a massive entity attempts to grab at the two survivors, but a couple of the phantom soldiers bring it down with simultaneous shots from their under-slung grenade launchers. Both the woman and surviving MTF member exit the town just as the Herald Shard seemingly [DATA EXPUNGED]. Finally able to look around, the Mekhanite woman turns to see that she is alone. Neither the agent nor the phantom soldiers are present.
After-Action: The Mekhanite woman is picked up a few hours later by Foundation recovery teams and airlifted to Site-17 for medical attention and debriefing. She is released upon the repeated requests, and subtle threats, of Church of the Broken God constituents, but only after she had surrendered all the information she knew about SCP-2480 and the Shard9, as well as being given a Class-A amnesic to erase all knowledge of SCP-XXXX. An investigation team with an armed escort are sent back into the Romanian town, dosed on DMT. However, all traces of SCP-2480 has vanished and the town appears completely abandoned. Field surveys conducted reveal that the buildings are now geometrically proportioned, all the masonry are now perfectly sculpted. All wood and clay materials have been replaced with steel and polymer and all plant and microbial organisms in the surrounding soil and in the air have been removed, though surveys also show that this latter part seems to only be temporary. Hume levels appears to be normal in the now-empty town, and the steel and polymer materials appear to be made from common non-anomalous matter. The Foundation intends to lift the quarantine of the area when the science teams have cleared it.

Nathan,
I know what it seems like when people read these reports. But, let me be absolutely clear, they're not an army of supermen waiting to save all of you. They are not Foundation assets no matter how much people want them to be. For all we know, these could be trans-dimensional entities dressed up to look like our MTFs. Sure, they may save your teams dozen times, but all they have to do is screw us over just once at a crucial point and it would be disastrously. Please remind your people about that next time they feel like calling upon a bunch of ghost stories to get them out of trouble. Heck, they're not even really ghosts.
- A. A.
Only one communication event with an SCP-XXXX instance has been recorded. The same incident also led to the recovery of a cadaver (SCP-XXXX-1) by Foundation personnel.

MTG ALPHA-GREEN (“NO MEN”)

Task Group Mission: MTG Alpha-Green10 were the primary anomalous-threat response and combat unit utilized by the Foundation from the 19██s to 19██, and were the direct predecessors of MTF Eta-5 (“Jäeger Bombers”), MTF Epsilon-11 ("Nine-Tailed Fox"), MTF Nu-7 (“Hammer Down”), MTF Psi-8 (“The Silencers”), and MTF Omega-12 (“Achilles’ Heels”). Notable Campai—
DATA IRRETRIEVABLE
All two hundred members of MTG Alpha-Green underwent extensive training in land, air, and sea warfare, and due to the nature of their responsibilities, were equipped with state-of-the-art weapons and body armor that were nearly two decades more advanced than most world militaries at the time11.
MTG Alpha-Green's primary bases were three (3) modified Boeing ███-███ passenger jetliners. Kept nearly always in flight, these allowed Alpha-Green operatives to be at any SCP discovery site in the world in a matter of hours. The passenger jets were altered beyond military specifications, each featuring more powerful engines, heavy armor plating, [REDACTED], a prototype Close-In Weapon System, and was capable of carrying the light semi-amphibious military vehicles favored by the MTGs. The white-coated external civilian appearance of the aircrafts, however, remained unaltered for camouflaged.
Final Mission: All members of MTG Alpha-Green were reported as Missing In Action after the ████████████ Incident, inexplicably corresponding to the breaking of the fifth chain of [REDACTED] necessitating that other Foundation assets within striking distance of the South Atlantic Ocean be ordered to stand down. However, according to radio logs, all Alpha-Green aircraft were suddenly and urgently called to a set of coordinates where no landmass was previously surveyed.
DATA IRRETRIEVABLE
For the next 62 minutes, communications with the MTG would be sporadic and mostly unintelligible, the sounds of heavy combat could be heard translating through the radio as well as references to some kind of immense doorway. Satellite imaging at the time could still not spot any sign of a landmass nor indication of the ongoing battle12. At some point, the Code-█ Omega call was heard but was quickly overwhelmed by the sound of deep guttural voices chanting in the background. However, due to the Stand Down order, no reinforcements could be deployed in time13.
Radar contact with all three aircraft was effectively lost at 02:06H, on November █, 19██, exactly 63 minutes after entering the area. The final communication from Alpha-Green is recorded to be three sentences sent via low-frequency text communication: "Unable to return. Gate is secure. It has been an honor." Extensive efforts to—

SEARCH AND RESCUE LOGS
Search and Rescue efforts for MTG Alpha-Green after the ████████████ Incident, were conducted by a joint task force of four Foundation MTGs and some voluntary elements from a Global Occult Coalition Battlegroup. The Search for MTG Alpha-Green, which lasted 114 days, would become the largest S&R operation in the history of the Foundation. Gestures of goodwill and coordination made during the almost four months of searching would lay much of the groundwork for future Foundation and GOC joint operations.
GRID 1
Date: November ██, ████ (DAY 2)
Report: After concentrated efforts to locate Alpha-Green through aerial reconnaissance reveals no results on the first day, MTG Theta-Blue14 commences an extensive sonar sweep of the ocean floor. ETA for Grid 1 Clearance is 19 Hours.
GRID 3
Date: November ██, ████ (DAY 6)
Report: Heavy Foundation activity has drawn the attention of Global Occult Coalition Battlegroup Valiant which was conducting military exercises just 26 Nautical Miles from Grid 3. When appraised of the situation, sympathetic officers sought clearance from GOC Command, and the O5-Council, for some elements of the Battlegroup, namely one attack submarine, three destroyers and twenty aircraft from the GOC Aircraft Carrier Eden Night to join the operation. Search of Grid 3 ends with no new findings.
GRID 10
Date: February █, ████ (DAY 71)
Report: Radar coverage of Grid 9 detected an aerial object with no viable origin point moving northeast at a cruising altitude of 10,500 meters. Two F-4D Phantom IIs from Mobile Task Group Sigma-Black15 were dispatched to ascertain the identity of the object. Visual confirmation was established at 03:15H, designated as BOGEY-1. The aircraft was subsequently identified as a modified Boeing ███-███ passenger jetliner matching the form and markings of GREEN TWO, Alpha-Green's second aerial base. BOGEY-1 would not respond to hails from the Phantoms and continued to fly in a Northeasterly direction. The Phantoms were instructed to track the aircraft, as Sigma-Black Air Command launched more escorts.
OFF GRID
Date: February █, ████ (DAY 72)
Report: BOGEY-1 continues to fly for 26 hours with a full squadron from MTG Sigma-Black in pursuit. During the flight, several pilots of the squadron report seeing [DATA EXPUNGED], prompting the squadron commander to replace the escorts every three hours. Additional anomalous properties had also been observed, such as [DATA EXPUNGED] and that cabin doors of BOGEY-1 seemed to open at random in mid-flight. The closing of which created a [DATA EXPUNGED], leading to the destruction of all aircraft within visual range. BOGEY-1 finally lands in ███████ airport, Germany. The area is immediately cordoned off by the Foundation and the German government is advised of the situation.
GRID 20
Date: March ██, ████ (DAY 99)
Report: Further aerial investigation reveals no other anomalous activities. Ocean floor scanning will continue. ETA for Grid 20 Clearance is 8 Hours.
GRID 23
Date: April ██, ████ (DAY 114)
Report: The O5-Council has issued Resolution No. 323-D. The search has been halted. All operation vehicles and MTG personnel have been instructed to return to standby posts.
Addendum: BOGEY-1 has been reclassified as SCP-███ and moved to another containment site. After months of study, the whereabouts of MTG Alpha-Green still remains unsolved. All documents linking SCP-███ with MTG Alpha-Green is deemed REDACTED and a False Origins report be inserted into its SCP document.
The Following is an excerpt extracted from Document SCP-XXXX-A
O5-COUNCIL EN BANC RESOLUTION NO. 223-D, Series of 19██
x-x-x
1) In response to increasingly numerous, identifiable, anomalous entities/objects/events, a formalized organization of field agents with clearly delineated duties and expertise was required.
2) Under O5-Council En Banc Resolution No. 159, Series of 19██, Mobile Task Groups16 are created by the SCP Foundation as the primary qualified anomalous entity and event responders, as distinguished and separate from the Foundation’s Divisions in Research, Applied Sciences, Records, Administration, and Maintenance.
3) The Mobile Task Group designated as ALPHA-GREEN, a mechanized and airborne company of special operations agents, tasked with the responsibilities of anomalous entity threat response and capture, containment site breach, large anomalous entity suppression, anomalous reanimated entity suppression, and reality-bending entity immobilization, is now declared Missing in Action – in Toto.
4) While the loss of MTG Alpha-Green is lamentable, a large number of Foundation operations have been severely stymied by the absence of its primary threat assess-response unit, thus putting both valuable research materials and precious lives at risk.
NOW, THEREFORE, this Council jointly RESOLVES that Alpha-Green is hereby DISBANDED, all Search and Rescue operations related to the Group are halted indefinitely, and its constituent responsibilities separated and distributed among multiple MTGs — designations to follow as soon as personnel and resources become available.

DOCUMENT SCP-XXXX-A - RETRIEVED
AUTOPSY OF SCP-XXXX-1
SCP-XXXX-1 is the cadaver of a human female, 1.57 meters in height, of average build, and being 70.3 kilograms in weight.
The cadaver is attired in what has been identified as a Generation-2B Heavy Response Gear, a type of full-coverage body armor worn by Foundation MTF personnel from the 1950s to the mid-1970s. SCP-XXXX's face is obscured by a partially-torn and burnt black balaclava, with cracked, abrasion-resistant tinted goggles over the eye section. All articles of clothing are completely fused to the outer skin and all attempts to remove the clothing finds only sub-dermal tissue underneath. However, identification tags worn by the cadaver at the time of recovery indicates that the body is of a Sergeant D. L. Sandoval, with an A+ blood type. Cross-referencing with Foundation dental records indicates a 92% match for a person named Donna Laine Sandoval, a member of MTG Alpha-Green and was reported Missing-In-Action over 60 years ago. Further examination reveals that all bodily fluids in the SCP-XXXX-1 have completely coagulated or solidified, and nearly all internal organs other than the heart and brain have atrophied.
SCP-XXXX-1's body armor and clothing display extensive damage from both wear and tear, and heavy combat. The body itself contains numerous bullets and shells from a variety of firearms, fragments from explosive ordnance, unknown burns and several cauterized holes going completely through the upper and lower torso. Injuries from both bladed and bludgeoning weapons have also been noted, as well as nine distinct sets of claw and teeth marks, each from different unidentified creatures. Several broken and fractured bones are evident as well. Though the damage to the body is extensive and terminal, the exact cause of death has been left undetermined. Aside from the other properties an SCP-XXXX instance possesses such as its resistance to recording devices, no other anomalous effects have been noted.
I'm having the tech guys make the decoy SCP-XXXX report and it'll be substituted into the RAISA database. The Council has given me full latitude with this, for once. All hard files will be locked with MTF Command Authorization under a bogus Encryption Protocol. O5 has cleared us to move Sandoval's body to MTF Mausoleum Complex 3 after the labcoats are done with her. Make no mistake, she is still considered a Skip, but she'll be stored indefinitely with our other recovered fallen. It's the closest thing to an honorable burial we can give her.
- Nathan James Avraham, Director-General, Briefing to MTF Command Staff
MISSION XXXX-BRAVO-1
On October ██, 20██, four members of MTF Iota-10 "Damn Feds" joined a 30-man ATF raid on warehouse complex, just outside of Anaheim, Los Angeles. Operation time began at 18:00H and [REDACTED] The anomalous chamber beneath the warehouse contained an extra-dimensional space several hundred square kilometers in area.
The space was later described by the surviving officers as having a sky "the color of broken memories" with roiling storm clouds that "smiled with purpose down on them". Realizing their suspicions had been confirmed, as well as the mind-affecting qualities of the sky, the members of MTF Iota-10 broke cover and used the ATF comms gear to contact their Foundation superiors, then requested that the ATF officers withdraw immediately.
Finding the exits gone, however, both Iota-10 and the ATF officers attempted to get to higher ground, having spotted a mountain range some seven kilometers distant. A low humming noise was beginning to permeate the area, though no one could determine its source. As they ran, the ATF officers continued to demand more information from the members of Iota-10.
[REDACTED]
The entities appeared to be emancipated headless humanoids, standing approximately 2.5 to 3 meters tall with perhaps 60-cm long talons on their left arms and tentacled limbs in place of hands and forearms on their right. They ran at incredible speeds, covering the two-kilometer distance between them and the small force in less than thirty seconds. Three members of Iota-10 opened fire first, followed shortly by the bewildered ATF officers. The fourth member continued her attempts to decipher the runes on the archway. Assault rifles and shotguns seemed to do little other than slow the creatures down. All the while, the two immense flying entities over head continued to battle each other, though the mechanical entity with the triangular symbol seemed to be losing.
[REDACTED] the officers retreated deeper into the cave, continuing to pour enfilading fire. Several of the ATF were not able to retreat quickly enough and were pulled out and tossed into the silent horde. Their abruptly cut screams making the surviving members fire more erratically, depleting ammunition faster. It was at this point that the sole surviving member of the Iota-10, Agent ██████████, sent a final garbled transmission to Mobile Task Force Command: "We… I'm sorry. I don't… die here. We… code █ Omega."

[REDACTED] an AIM-26 Falcon air-to-air missile equipped with a sub-kiloton nuclear payload.

[REDACTED]
The three surviving ATF members and a single cadaver bearing antiquated MTF BDUs and patch markings were recovered by two teams from MTF Zeta-9 "Mole Rats". The warehouse had been completely leveled. Preliminary investigation reveals it was destroyed from the inside using plastic explosives. The underground archway has been obliterated beyond repair. The survivors were later debriefed by Foundation personnel in FBI uniforms. When questioned about the cadaver, the ATF officers reported that one of the apparitions approached them carrying the body. He said that the apparition seemingly "solidified" and gently handed the corpse to him, whispering to the officer a brief phase before vanishing.
The cadaver skin appeared to be completely fused to the same black battle dress uniform and tactical gear used by other members of SCP-XXXX. The cadaver was clutching a small piece of parchment in its right hand. Identifying marks include two items; a set of dog-tags and an outdated MTF "MTG" shoulder patch, bearing a faceless black-suited figure crossed by arrows from behind. The ATF officers were given Class-A Amnesics and returned to their Bureau. Any lingering questions by ATF officials as to what exactly happened during the raid were later smoothed over with planted circumstantial evidence and pressure from the United States Federal Government.
As for the words that were whispered to the ATF survivor, it is recorded here:
"Even in death, duty must not end."
Chemical analysis of the torn piece of parchment found in the hand of the cadaver indicated only mundane materials, radiocarbon dating has yielded inconclusive results. Most notable is the handwritten message on the parchment itself.
They said they're not done yet, so I only brought them back half the way.
