Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained via a locked box in a level 3 containment chamber. Due to the dangers of coming into contact with the artifact, SCP-XXXX's chamber is to be guarded by no less than two MTF Indigo-6 personnel. These guards are to use non-lethal force on any unauthorized personnel attempting to gain access to the artifact.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a medium sized hard-backed book. There appears to be nothing special about this book, as it has no cover art and no title. Upon coming into contact with the artifact the subject will go into a catatonic state and their eyes will █████ ████. Subjects reported after coming into contact with the artifact, "An immense wave of dread and despair." After 3 seconds of touching the artifact, subjects reported having vivid hallucinations. The visions were different for every subject but they all had one concurring theme, the death of loved ones in various ways.

Addendum: D-class subject 108537 was recruited for experimentation with SCP-XXXX. The subject entered the artifact's chamber and retrieved SCP-XXXX, After coming into contact subject went into a catatonic state that lasted approximately 15 seconds. The subject then proceeded to open the cover of the artifact and turned to the first page. On this page, the words "Book of Thoth," were written in Egyptian hieroglyphics.
The subject returned to a catatonic state and placed SCP-XXXX back into its lockbox, walked out of the chamber and attempted to acquire Lieutenant ████████'s weapon. The guard attempted a non-lethal takedown of the subject but ultimately had to resort to breaking the subject's neck.

Case Files of Strike Team "Crimson-9" - Case File I

ST-3389 "Crimson-9" is an elite black-ops strike team for the UNGOC, comprised of four members: 27266███/3389 (a.k.a. Commander), 35879███/3389 (a.k.a. Bravo), 78632███/3389 (a.k.a. Golf), and last but not least 95732███/3389 (a.k.a. Whiskey). Commander is the leader of Crimson-9, tasked with guiding the team to safety while also completing the objective. Bravo is a lieutenant and second-in-command of Crimson-9, knowledgeable in military tactics, Bravo often plans the missions of Crimson-9 and advises Commander in most tactical incursions. Golf, before joining the GOC, worked as a Threat Entity Researcher for the Foundation. During his time with the Foundation, he became familiar with the advanced technology that is the product of TEs, because of this Golf can identify with ease what makes any technologically advanced TE work. He then, in turn, uses this information to use a TE to his advantage. Finally, we have Whiskey, before joining the GOC, Whiskey was a member of the United States military's 75th Ranger Regiment. His position within this special-ops unit of the rangers was Explosive "Technician". Whiskey's two main attributes are his brute strength and his skills with the deployment of Explosive Ordinances.

Crimson-9 is headquartered at a warehouse owned by the GOC located on Jacob's Island in London, England. It was in this HQ that they received an encrypted transmission from Central Command (henceforth referred to as CC) detailing the reports of Assesment Team 794 "Shovel Paladins", AT-794 found a tunnel under the Thames that lead to a large subterranean city (henceforth referred to as PTE-8514-Parallax or PTE-8514). Upon further review of the first block of PTE-8514, AT-794 concluded that the city was a mirror of London except that instead of the modern buildings, PTE-8514's buildings seem to be styled after Victorian-Era architecture. When trying to enter further into the city, instances of PTE-8514/1 were encountered. PTE-8514/1 appeared to be a small mechanical pidgeon with a bio-organic security camera for a head. When approached PTE-8514/1 will fly away and take multiple pictures of any living organism in the AO (area of operation). After approximately 5 seconds PTE-8514/1 will start to emit a siren-like noise, alerting what appear to be Victorian-era police (henceforth referred to as PTE-8514/2). When encountering PTE-8514/2 organisms a voice can be heard over what appear to be speakers, The voice says to put down your weapons and do not run. After not complying with the demand for approximately 3 seconds PTE-8514/2 will attempt a forceful "arrest". One Team member of AT-794 was apprehended by a single PTE-8514/2 entity, the others exfiltrated through the entrance tunnel.

The next transmission was a briefing for an infiltration of PTE-8514-Parallax. CC classified PTE-8514 as a Response Level 4 threat, operatives are to engage as soon as possible and are authorized to use excessive force. Crimson-9 is to infiltrate and secure Sector Ω-0 (The Tower). Once secured Crimson-9 is to set up a base of operations in Sector Ω-0 and await further instruction. Operatives will be issued full Gen+1 tactical/stealth loadouts. All operatives of Crimson-9 are to be outfitted with Mk. IV Infiltration Uniforms. First, Third, and Fourth missions are to take top priority in this mission. Any instances of PTE-8514/1 and /2 are to be eliminated on site as stealthy as possible as to not raise attention to Crimson-9. Sector Ω-0 is to be infiltrated from the roof, Access to the roof is only possible by drilling from the basement of The Tower in London. A small rope ladder will then be lowered through the hole and onto the roof of Sector Ω-0. After entering Sector Ω-0 Crimson-9 is to go radio silent and will not be able to contact CC until Sector Ω-0 is secured. This means they will be on their own with no backup.
