Item #: SCP-xxxx

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-xxxx is currently housed at the aptly nicknamed "Love and Care Facility,"1 site-██. She, alongside an instance of SCP-xxxx-A who was formerly d-class personnel ████, is confined within a standard human containment cell furnished a bed and several stuffed toys. SCP-xxxx is to be well fed and given daily bi-weekly sessions of therapy for her extreme depression to prevent her anomalous properties from emerging from killing herself so as to allow her to improve her mental state. The instance of SCP-xxxx-A is to be treated no differently than any other d-class personnel, unless requested otherwise by the SCP. Any requests for anything are to be sent to her therapist and the commanding officer of site-██ for pending permission. SCP-xxxx, along with the instance of SCP-xxxx-A, is fully allowed to roam site-██ as they please between the times of 10 am and 10 pm, barring obvious places, such as offices and the like. Otherwise, SCP-xxxx and the instance are to be contained within their room. Any breaches of curfew are to be reprimanded accordingly.
If SCP-xxxx is found to have killed herself, Dr. ████, SCP-xxxx’s therapist is to be notified immediately, and her remains to be brought back to her containment cell to complete the regeneration process. Afterwards, daily sessions of therapy are to be held by Dr. ████ until SCP-xxxx is deemed mentally well enough to be left alone once again. The corpse of the instance of SCP-xxxx-A is to be disposed of, and a new d-class individual is to be brought into SCP-xxxx’s room for replacement of the old instance.

Description: SCP-xxxx is a slender young woman of Japanese descent with dark-brown hair, bright scarlet irises, approximately 4’6” in height, and is 19 years of age. Formerly known as the individual, Shinitai Momoko, she was found at [DATA REDACTED] after reports of her anomalous properties began to circulate amongst the community of her hometown. Agents located close by were able to locate, detain, and relocate her to her current location at site-██, along with giving class-A amnetics to all the workers at the hospital, all of her relatives, neighbors, and friends. No major incidents were had as they were transporting her. In defiance of the agents transporting her, SCP-xxxx successfully took the firearm of an agent and killed herself. There were no instances of SCP-xxxx-A when she did this, and she regenerated fully by the time she had been delivered to site-██.

It is clear that SCP-xxxx is suffering from a fractured self-image, extreme depression mixed with constant suicidal thoughts, and PTSD brought on by her truly awful upbringing, which was confirmed as factual by undercover agents investigating her claims. The parts of SCP-xxxx’s childhood that she strictly remembers are her physically abusive parents and several events of [DATA EXPUNGED] that had occurred during her school life. Dr. ████, co-head researcher and personal therapist for SCP-xxxx, vividly remembers the many times SCP-xxxx has cried in her arms, retelling stories of [DATA EXPUNGED] and [DATA EXPUNGED] that her parents and relatives made her endure.23

Due to her extremely poor mental state, researchers and caretakers responsible for sustaining her are advised to maintain a positive relationship with her, in an attempt to “lighten her load.” This has been seen to have greatly improved the mental state of SCP-xxxx, but has yet to alleviate her of her suicidal tendencies. Cross tests with SCPs known to improve mental conditions have been done, see “Test A” for one such test.

SCP-xxxx’s other major anomalous properties consist of:

#1 “Invincibility”:

  • SCP-xxxx is unable to be killed by any means within the authorization of site-██'s researchers. However, she can be killed. But only if she is the direct cause of it. Fortunately, this invincibility does not translate into strength output, and she can easily be stopped by any means of a blockade, e.g., doors that require keycards, walls, locked gates, restraints, etc.

#2 “Mind-control”:

  • If either eye-contact or skin-to-skin contact is made with SCP-xxxx, the individual who had made contact will immediately adopt the personality of an unnamed Japanese male person, regardless of the sex of the original individual who made contact. An individual caught within the spell of SCP-xxxx is to be considered an instance of SCP-xxxx-A. Entranced personnel members are to be considered a lost cause and considered a completely different entity than who they originally were. No attempts to “rescue” the entranced individual is to be performed.
  • Tests have shown that instances of SCP-xxxx-A maintain the anomalous property of "invincibility" inherited from SCP-xxxx. Simple observations have also shown that only one instance of SCP-xxxx-A can exist at a time.
  • Instances of SCP-xxxx-A speak only in the Japanese language, regardless of what language they spoke originally. Translations of conversations between SCP-xxxx and an instance have shown that instances of SCP-xxxx-A try their damndest to convince SCP-xxxx not to kill herself, and to assure her that she is loved. The unknown personality of an instance also seems to be a dear friend to SCP-xxxx, and becomes greatly distressed when separated from their “friend.” Although they are confined in the same room and sleep in the same bed, SCP-xxxx is yet to [DATA EXPUNGED].
  • The personality has refused to name itself to interviewers, and the SCP herself does not know its name. All that is known is that the personality is that of a Japanese male who says is “besties” with the SCP. SCP-xxxx has denied even knowing the personality multiple times in interviews. However, it is clear that she is extremely familiar with whoever this entity is, even if she acts as if she does not.4

#3 “Immortality”:

  • When SCP-xxxx is successful in ending her life, she will appear to be genuinely dead; at least, until any currently existing instance of SCP-xxxx-A ends their own life as well. When the instance of SCP-xxxx-A ends their life, SCP-xxxx will rapidly regenerate any lost/broken tissue but remain unconscious until she is laid in a bed. Tests have shown that she will awaken in any bed made of at least 1 mattress of varying quality, a pillow for her head to rest on, and a thin-sheet blanket to cover her entire body. This bed layout is found to be very similar to beds commonly found within the average hospital.
  • If no instance of SCP-xxxx-A exists when the original SCP dies, it will instead take at least 15 minutes for her to begin regenerating her fatal injuries. This, however, varies by about 5 minutes.
  • There are currently no working theories as to how she can reform from even her worst deaths. And she remembers everything. Even the pain of death, which she reports to be “The least painful thing about my life so far.

Test A - September ██, 2016

Subject: SCP-xxxx
Test: Cross Test with SCP-999
Results:
SCP-xxxx reacted extremely positively to the presence of SCP-999. Her mental state saw an obvious positive change after the interaction. SCP-xxxx reported feeling “So much better,” with this effect lasting approximately 13 days. After which she had fallen back down to her usual cycle of depression and suicidal thoughts. SCP-xxxx still requests to meet with SCP-999 when she can, and every time, her request is shut down.
Analysis:
SCP-xxxx interacting with SCP-999 has been found to be beneficial to both the overall safety and mental health of both SCP-xxxx and the staff tending to her. A formal request to permanently allow SCP-xxxx to visit SCP-999 during her free time has been sent to the commanding officer of site-██. Permission is still pending.

Addendum A: November ██, 2016
"Flashback Interview"

Interviewed: SCP-xxxx during a fit of PTSD triggered by unknown reasons.

Interviewer: Dr. ████, SCP-xxxx's therapist and co-head researcher of SCP-xxxx's properties

Foreword: SCP-xxxx is restrained heavily, and unable to move from her seat. She has been in a state of panic and stress most likely derived from her PTSD

<Begin Log>

Interviewer: "Can you tell us why you want to die, Ms. Momoko?"

[silence for ten seconds]

SCP-xxxx: "I cannot. I just want to die. Please, let me die."

Interviewer: "Are you aware of the situation you are in right now?"

SCP-xxxx: "You are keeping me from killing myself."

Interviewer: "This is for your safety. We need you to calm down.

SCP-xxxx: "Calm down? Calm down!? I don't care what you're talking about! Just let me die!"

[SCP-xxxx is now violently attempting to break out of her restraints.]

SCP-xxxx: "Please! PLEASE! Let me die! Let me out! LET ME DIE!

Interviewer: "Wh-"

SCP-xxxx: "Don't try to talk me out of this! I don't deserve life! I don't deserve to keep the nice people around me! No one needs me! No one deserves to have to deal with such a worthless person like me! Everyone would be better off if I wasn't even born! Please! Just let me go!"

[SCP-xxxx has now just devolved into continuously screaming the phrases: "Please!", "Let me go", and "Let me die!" in both Japanese and English]

Interviewer: "That's enough, cut the recording. We're done."

<End Log>

Closing Statement: It is very clear that when SCP-xxxx is having flashbacks, she wants nothing else but to die. What she is remembering is unknown to researchers, but she clearly thinks the release of death is preferable to remembering it. Immediately after concluding this interview, Dr.████ released both SCP-xxxx and the existing instance of SCP-xxxx-A from their restraints. Upon doing so, the instance of SCP-xxxx-A ran with inhuman speed to the location of SCP-xxxx and began to speak to her in Japanese. SCP-xxxx seemingly ignoring the instance, immediately reached for a firearm equipped on a nearby security guard and shot herself in the head, killing herself instantly. The instance of SCP-xxxx-A soon followed suit, by taking the firearm from SCP-xxxx's dead body and using the weapon on itself. The d-class personnel who had been entranced was instantly dead, while SCP-xxxx immediately began to regenerate. Standard post-death re-containment procedure for SCP-xxxx followed suit.

"Post-Suicide Interview"

Interviewed: SCP-xxxx after her successful suicide where she walked off the roof of site-██ alongside a d-class personnel.

Interviewer: Dr. ████, SCP-xxxx's therapist and co-head researcher of SCP-xxxx's properties, he is wearing sunglasses, which have been proven to bypass SCP-xxxx’s anomalous property of “mind-control.”

Foreword: SCP-xxxx is resting in her bed, having just awoken from her successful suicide attempt.

<Begin Log>

Interviewer: "Hello? Ms. Momoko? Are you awake?"

SCP-xxxx: [Speaking in Japanese, translation pending]

Interviewer: "Ms. Momoko, speak in English, please."

[SCP-xxxx gazes around the room for a bit, before looking directly at Dr.████ and beginning to talk]

SCP-xxxx: "Oh, Dr. ████, it's you. Sorry, I thought I was at a hospital again."

Interviewer: "It's ok Ms. Momoko, just take your time to adjust."

[Several seconds of silence while SCP-xxxx is heard on the verge of tears.]

SCP-xxxx: "I did it again, didn’t I?"

[Dr. ████ takes in a breath of air, SCP-xxxx is just barely hanging on]

Interviewer: "Unfortunately, yes. You decided that you should die again."

[And awkward amount of silence as SCP-xxxx attempts to recompose herself]

Interviewer: "Alright, the first question then. Do you remember what you did last night?"

SCP-xxxx: "Yes. Everything. The stairs, the thoughts, the flashes. The memories. I think that boy was with me too, but I don’t think I listened to him. Not at all. "

Interviewer: "Hmmm."

SCP-xxxx: "[Japanese phrase for sorry, she repeats this several times]. I don’t know why I keep doing this to myself, I don’t deserve you guys.”

Interviewer: "Hush now, don’t be saying that. The reason we’re here is because we want to help you. Or, at least the reason I’m here is because I want to help you, and that’s final.”

SCP-xxxx: "But, I did it again. I killed myself again, and caused another guy to lose his life. I don’t-

Interviewer: "I’ll just stop you right there, Momoko. Now I’ll have you now that everyone has their moments of weakness, and you aren’t any different from most other humans.”

SCP-xxxx: "Except that I get second chances at life. A life I don’t-“

Interviewer: "Again, as I was saying- You are just like any other person suffering from something within your conscience. And though other’s circumstances may vary wildly, what you feel is no different than what I feel when I panic, or when anyone panics for that matter.

SCP-xxxx: “You- You, panic?”

Interviewer: "Now, granted, unlike you, I panic at some of the more mundane things in life. Like late paperwork, or realizing I forgot my phone at home. But panic is panic nonetheless. Even if in your case, it’s comparatively extreme.”

[Dr. ████ spends a few moments writing down notes.]

Interviewer: "It's alright Ms. Momoko. All of this will be important for us in the future, thank you for being honest with me."

SCP-xxxx: "Again, I'm sorry for everything I’ve done. I really don’t deserve all this goodness after all that I’ve done to you and the others.”

Interviewer: "It's alright, you don't have to worry about that. Just make sure to get plenty of rest, it is currently 9 am, lunch will be soon. You can walk around to make sure everything is ok, alright? We’ll be bringing in another replacement for your friend’s mind, you don’t mind, do you?"

SCP-xxxx: "Thank you for being so kind to me Dr.████, [The Japanese phrase for a sincere thank you], I mean it. Even if I'm stuck here in this weird research facility, I can always count on you to help me out. And no, you can bring them in at any time. You say they’re criminals right? This can be their way to give back to someone, I guess. Even if it’s a little crueler than I like.”

Interviewer: "If I could change how your properties worked so you could live as happy as you want, I would. Of course, I’m merely human, and so are you, Momoko. And I'm glad I can be that person for you."

[Dr. ████ proceeds to put away his pen and paper while standing up]

SCP-xxxx: "[More Japanese phrases, translations pending]. I will."

[Dr.████ proceeds to leave the room and SCP-xxxx is left to rest on her own.]

<End Log>

Closing Statement: As Dr. ████ walked out of the room, the d-class person was sent inside with the instructions to “touch the girl as much as you want.” His plans were cut short as the personality of the boy immediately took over as he touched SCP-xxxx, and then they began talking in Japanese, and presumably went back to being friends. The usual post-death procedure was followed for the next 2 weeks, as SCP-xxxx was given her daily therapy sessions until she was deemed well enough. This was the last time SCP-xxxx has killed herself in the past six months, and progress to a healthy mental recovery is smooth. If she can go just one more year without killing herself, she will be eligible to be released and allowed a normal, albeit heavily watched, life in the outside world, and allowed to live a life her relatives denied of her. Until then, this is Dr. ████ reporting this interview.
