Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
On-site security is to be given regular psyche evaluations weekly until rotated out every month. Due to the incident on ██/██/████, SCP-XXXX-1 will no longer be stored within sight of SCP-XXXX, and SCP-XXXX-1 will no longer be permitted to dry or touch freshwater, and ESPECIALLY not tap water or any other clean filtered water. SCP-XXXX-1 is to from now on be transported in a container of 3.5% saltwater.
Specimen is to be kept in a 100m (L) x 100m (w) x 75m (h) reinforced below-ground pressure tank of saltwater with 3.5% salt level that is to be replaced daily within a 110m (L) x 110m (w) x 10m (h) steel containment cell. SCP-XXXX is to be kept in low light, and is only to be fed pre-killed medium to large ocean-dwelling mammals. If specimen is agitated during feeding, all personnel within 5 meters of the tank are to move to a safe distance of 6 meters away or more and remain in constant movement until either SCP-XXXX calms down or SCP-XXXX-1 can be administered.
Once every month one D-class personnel is to enter the tank while wearing proper equipment to deal with the water pressure. The D-class personnel is to check SCP-XXXX for signs of sickness or infection. While submerged in tank, the D-class personnel is to be constantly moving so not to be mistaken for food. If SCP-XXXX is agitated during checkup, it is to be permitted to eat D-class personnel if SCP-XXXX-1 is not administered soon enough. SCP-XXXX-1 is to be on-hand for the entire duration of checkup of SCP-XXXX in case of agitation, due to proper equipment used to deal with the high pressure being very unhealthy for SCP-XXXX to eat and near impossible to digest.
Description:
Scp-XXXX is a 3-ton creature roughly half the size of a fully-grown orca, originally from the bottom of the ocean, moved to the facility due to movement to shallower waters in order to find more food. It has around 37 octopus-like tentacles that average at around 8 meters and have proven to be able to reach up to 5 meters out of water and are strong enough to break through most materials if specimen is agitated.
Hidden beneath the tentacles, SCP-XXXX has four large claws that resemble those of lobsters and a massive beak resembling that of a squid's. It has no visible eyes, though it often reacts to visual stimuli. Since it has no visible eyes, it is impossible to tell when it is or is not looking at something. Along with its other features, SCP-XXXX also has the ability to camouflage itself as a rock or ocean floor formation. Though it is not as flexible as an octopus, it still has some of its qualities.
SCP-XXXX prefers to eat already killed prey, but it will attack and attempt to eat live prey if it becomes hurt or agitated. It has been proven to willingly eat human bodies, though it has also been shown to prefer larger and more fattening prey, such as whales or seals. It has also proven to be able to easily digest land mammals, but again, it prefers mammals originating from the sea.
SCP-XXXX-1 is a mysterious glowing blue stone found with SCP-XXXX that has been shown to calm SCP-XXXX down when agitated. The reaction given by SCP-XXXX when in close waters with SCP-XXXX-1 suggests SCP-XXXX-1 creates a drug-like effect, causing SCP-XXXX to act loopy and tired, even elated sometimes. The reason why this effect takes place is still yet unknown, though it is understood that it is one of the few things that can calm SCP-XXXX down from its agitation.
