Item: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept on top of a wooden pillar in the center of a 5m x 5m x 5m room. SCP-XXXX must be surrounded by SCP-XXXX-1 through SCP-XXXX-8, no more than 1.5 meters apart from each other. SCP-XXXX-1 to SCP-XXXX-8 are also to be fitted with retractable stands. The floor is to be marked where the object starts to attract materials. The containment area must be cleaned out once a month to prevent build up of dead human tissue, personnel who clean out the room must wear UPF 50+ clothing at all times until exiting the room.
Extreme caution is to be advised when handling SCP-XXXX, the object is not permitted to be moved without approval of two Level 4 security personnel. When being transported, the object must be within close proximity of SCP-XXXX-1 to 8. The object must be carried on a wheeled cart made of wood, with 2 Senior Researchers pushing, with 2 Guards positioned on each side of the cart, and accompany the Researchers to their destination. All personnel transporting SCP-XXXX must wear UPF 50+ clothing to protect them from the UV rays SCP-XXXX-1 through 8 emit. A clear direct path must be cleared out, free of any humans before transportation can commence.
SCP-XXXX through to SCP-XXXX-8 are to be all powered by solar panels, see incident-5714-1.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an ordinary cylindrical magnet with a diameter of 14.5cm and a height of 7cm. The object attracts all metals within its magnetic field, which its maximum radius is 2.5m without SCP-XXXX-1 through 8's UV rays acting upon it, and no human tissue. The metals it attracts includes metals that are not supposed to have magnetic properties such as silver and gold. The highest weight recorded that the magnet has pulled was 10kg.
SCP-XXXX-1 through SCP-XXXX-8 are UV lights, the individual UV readings of each light sources varies from ██ to ██. These were found facing towards SCP-XXXX when it was discovered. Each light source has a stand 2m high They also appear to be made of an unknown metal, a metal that is not affected by SCP-XXXX's magnetism. Results from trying to synthesise this metal are still pending, but are having positive breakthroughs. On top of the stand, each have a 15cm circular light bulb with a reflector behind it to direct the UV rays. Each bulb must be powered with any amount of electricity to remain powered, its been shown to not affect the strength of the UV rays when there is little to no power.
Through testing, it has been discovered that the UV rays cast upon SCP-XXXX greatly decrease the magnetic field of the magnet, decreasing it to 2mm in radius when the UV lights are positioned 30cm away from SCP-XXXX, meaning, the radius of the magnetic field is affected by the distances of SCP-XXXX-1 to 8.
SCP-XXXX's most bizarre anomalous property is its attraction to human tissue. Once subject enters into the magnetic field of SCP-XXXX, the subject's tissue will appear to melt to a goo and sticky-like substance and be attracted to the magnet. The bones of the Subject are harder for SCP-XXXX to attract as the subject needs to be in a closer proximity to the magnet where enough magnetic force can be applied to the bones, at this point they begin to break under the force, and be more easily attracted to SCP-XXXX. Through testing, the first few major bones that appear to break are the the bones in the arm, as subjects normally go out to touch the magnet. Once these bones are compromised the victim will try their hardest to be free of the magnets attraction, but they are slowly reeled in as it melts off more tissue causing them to be closer. Once the victims torso is touching the magnet, the rib cage is compromised and and bones in the rib cage begin to break and pierce through the victims organs, causing major internal hemorrhanging. At this point subjects entire body is within the magnetic radius, causing all body tissue to melt and be attracted to SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX's magnetic radius also increases when more human tissue is present around it, this could potentially lead to a magnetic field radius larger than its containment area. The UV rays emitted by SCP-XXXX-1 through 8 act as a cleaner for the human tissue stuck onto SCP-XXXX, when tissue is exposed to the UV rays, it burns up, effectively stopping the magnetic radius of SCP-XXXX from expanding.
Addendum 5714-1: Research on synthesizing SCP-XXXX-1 through 8's metal has been a success, looking into making retractable stands for each light source to make transportation of SCP-XXXX more easier as we can then place them much lower and closer to SCP-XXXX when transporting. Replacements for SCP-XXXX's pillar and a new cart using this new metal are still being forged. More uses for this metal are currently being researched.
Test-5174-A
Procedure:
D-1613's arm is exposed to SCP-XXXX-1 UV rays.
Results:
Severe burns are sustained on the subjects arm, skin and muscle are burnt or turned to charcoal and bone is exposed. D-1613 fainted from sudden increase in pain.
Analysis:
After two seconds of exposure from SCP-XXXX-1's UV rays without protection caused severe burns on human arm.
Test-5174-B
Procedure:
D-7136's arm is covered in UPF 50+ fabric and exposed to SCP-XXXX-3 UV rays.
Results:
Subject reports feeling a mild amount of heat acting upon their arm, this lightly increases overtime. Subject does not appear to be distressed.
Analysis:
D-7136's arm suffered no burns at all, even after 2 minutes of exposure from SCP-XXXX-3.
Test-5174-C
Procedure:
D-7136's entire body is covered with UPF 50+ fabric, fabric is made into clothes to suit D-7136's size and shape. D-7136 entire body is to be exposed to SCP-XXXX-5 UV rays for an extended period of time.
Results:
2 Minutes in: D-7136 reports that he feels warm.
4:36 Minutes in: D-7136 reports that he feels the heat is slowly rising.
6:10 Minutes in: D-7136 starts arguing about the heat and wants to leave, Dr. ██████ tells D-7136 to remain there, if not they would be terminated.
7:30 Minutes in: D-7136 starts screaming from the heat.
8:15 Minutes in: D-7136 passes out and is unresponsive, at this point Dr. ██████ continues the test even though subject is unconscious.
10:57 Minutes in: Fire can be seen from inside the UPF fabric suit.
20:13 Minutes in: UPF suit begins to burn.
27:35 Minutes in: [REDACTED]
32 Minutes in: Dr. ██████ ends Test-5174-C
Analysis: UPF 50+ suits can successfully block out the heat and UV rays from SCP-XXXX-1 through 8 for a small period of time. D-7136's body was recovered and was concluded that D-7136 died from being cooked alive inside the suit, the heat was trapped inside and killed D-7136, the fire from within the suit was started from the intense amount of heat that was trapped inside, burning the body of D-7136.
Some notes for the second SCP, im aiming to go for the name scp-5174
- Make an incident report, where d-class were in the the containment area, a small power surge occurred making the d-class stuck to the magnet causing the snowball effect which ran through the facility, maybe 5 or so deaths.
- It attracts all metals, meaning there has to be a lot of wooden equipment.
- SCP-XXXX-1 through to -8 are the uv lights around the magnet, they are not attracted to it, i should also include that they are trying to synthesise more of this unknown metal.
