SCP-4814, before containment

Item #: SCP-4814

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4814 is to be kept in a room of -200 °C at all times and no entity with a temperature above -160 °C is allowed to enter as long as SCP-4814 is contained within it. The room containing SCP-4814 is to be attached to a power reserve in case of main building power failure. SCP-4814 is not allowed to come into contact with water of any form under any circumstances, including moisture in the air. Failure to do so could lead to the casualties of many of the staff on site-██. SCP-4814 is only to be communicated with through the speakers installed in it's confinement.

Description: SCP-4814 is not by itself visible and is not made of any physical substance. SCP-4814 is a negative temperature change that can physically interact with the environment. SCP-4814 is only visible because the moisture in the air of the space that SCP-4814 occupies is frozen and becomes visible. While visible, SCP-4814 is described as a humanoid entity wearing a cloak SCP-4814 has no determined size as it has been observed as roughly the size of an average human and as a mass of vapor spanning at least 3.2 square kilometers. The space SCP-4814 occupies is -160 °C, if SCP-4814 occupies a space colder than that it becomes incapable of movement. Raising the temperature near SCP-4814 to above -160 °C will not effect it. According to research conducted, SCP-4814 absorbs thermal energy from any source.

SCP-4814 "feeds" on the adrenocorticotropic(AHCT) hormone which is created inside the human brain when they experience fear. This transfer of AHCT from human to SCP-4814 is most commonly known as "that shiver down your spine" according to Dr.██████'s research. SCP-4814 also absorbs AHCT when a person becomes deceased by going through the facial orifices and removing AHCT physically from the brain. However, no detectable damage is done to the deceased subjects body. Also, it has not been proven that SCP-4814 requires AHCT to survive as it has been in containment for 2█ years without access to AHCT and has not perished. SCP-4814 can disperse itself over an undetermined amount of distance and into as many single units of itself as it wants, but it can only interact with the environment physically if all of SCP-4814 is present and it has access to water of some form. SCP-4814 uses solid forms of water available to interact physically with things around it. SCP-4814 has also been known to create tools and/or weapons out of water as well.

SCP-4814 appears to have a relatively human conscience and intellect. It can not speak but can communicate through writing of the English language. SCP-4814 has communicated the fact that it can read and therefore see. It can also understand and execute commands which suggests it can also hear. However, SCP-4814 does not understand the concept of touch and feeling as observed by tests before its complete confinement on 11/18/20██. It is quite obvious that it understands emotion as it reminded staff frequently "I miss my old life" and "I remember when I was like you". This therefore suggests that it once was not the entity it is presently and might at one point have been a human, this has not been confirmed as it will not divulge any information related to the topic other than the two phrases above.

Addendum 4814.2: SCP-4814 was discovered in 5/31/19██ by Dr.██████ while using thermal detection equipment to search for anomalies. SCP-4814 was given its numerical designation the day after its discovery. However, after observing the treatment of other SCPs with cognitive abilities in the facility, SCP-4814 became increasingly hostile toward staff members which eventually lead to the event known as Incident-13.

Incident-13: On 11/5/20██, SCP-4814 breached containment and killed all but 15 of the 236 staff members in [DATA EXPUNGED] by using its amorphous ability to remove all oxygen from the staffs' bodies on a molecular level. Two important figures who survived Incident-13 were Dr.██████, who had originally discovered SCP-4814 and had been unprofessionally lenient with SCP-4814, and Dr.Mifflin who had sympathized with SCP-4814 about its views on treatment of other SCPs. SCP-4814 was contained roughly two weeks later and put in full containment on 11/18/20██ in site-██. SCP-4814 has been questioned multiple times about the reason it collects AHCT, but has not divulged any information.

They told me they could be trusted, but they didn't trust me. They poke and prod and ask so many
questions, but all for nothing. They don't understand me, or the others imprisoned here. They
speak to me. That, or I can hear them, their cries and howling, I can hear it. They don't know, but
I do. I miss my old life when things were simple, but I am more useful helping them, protecting
them. I fear if I do not do something soon they will imprison me like the others. The only reason
they have not yet done so is because I agreed to be here, to be studied like some animal. However, I am studying them as well. Today the one who discovered me asked me the same questions they had been asking, but there was something new. He looked at me, and asked in a strict tone I had
not heard before, "who are you?". He could have asked what are you? where are you from? what do you want? No one should ever ask that question. I looked at him, looked
into him. I saw his face drain of color, and his pupils grow large. I stopped, I couldn't hurt them, they couldn't know I could. I asked him not to tell, I wrote it a hundred times
over on the desk between us. I think he did, but it wont matter soon. They left me in my
room, almost all of me. The other part followed them to the main control unit. They thought all of me had to be there for me to mess something up, they were wrong. Soon I will free them, maybe I will let some live. Until then that part of me is still waiting in that room.
