description
SCP-5499 is a small, mobile island that travels through the seas. the island appears at sites of disasters, days or weeks before occurring. if humans are present at the location of the disaster, the island will always have a survivor wash up on its shore, even when it would be impossible for anyone to survive a crisis. The subject is a small, sandy island, roughly 46000m2 in surface are. a single unidentifiable, tropical tree resides on the island, producing 10 coconuts a day. each coconut will fully hydrate and nourish anyone who consumes one. SCP-5499-1 will begin to form on the sand, taking a day to form, and will trigger the formation process once someone inhabits the island. analysis of sand, bark and other live samples from the island show that the island is storing a near
un-quantifiable amount of energy in it. the material of the island acts as a conductor, able to alternate between negative and positive charge . it should also be noted that the island is apparently sentient, and will not save those who cause the incidents, despite if they are easier to save than any other.
SCP-5499-1
SCP-5499-1 are small, primitive, humanoid beings made of sand and shells. They are impenetrable and will only deform when wet, where they will crumble and reform from any surrounding terrain. the entities will act friendly towards anyone on the island, and assist in their rescue. interactions of SCP-5499-1 have been documented
