Item #: SCP-5038

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: Records of how to recreate SCP-5038 are to be kept in a secure information storage locker at Site-64. Access to these records are restricted for testing purposes only.

Description: SCP-5038 is a series of anomalous inscriptions and symbols, usually appearing to be stellar/cosmic in appearance. On their own, these patterns are non-anomalous; however, their properties become apparent when drawn in a specific manner (the exact procedure can be found on Document 5038-█ kept in the Information Department of Site-64) on the equator, north pole, and south pole of any model globe. When the patterns are successfully replicated on a globe1, the globe acts as an anomalous teleporter.

In order for the teleportation to succeed, the globe, hereby referred to as SCP-5038-1, must be accelerated up to a rotational velocity of ██ m/s. Once the necessary speed has been reached, SCP-5038-1 enters its 'primed' state. Any organic matter that is used to stop SCP-5038-1's rotation will be teleported to the location on the globe the matter was touching. The accuracy of this teleportation depends on the accuracy of the globe provided; standard commercial globes tend to have a high degree of uncertainty to exactly where the subject will be teleported.

Addendum 1: History: SCP-5038 was initially discovered already applied to a Replogle-brand desktop globe during a raid of a reported Fifthist gathering. After the Fifthists were captured for interrogation, the globe was found sitting in the center of a large room in what seemed to be an unfinished ritual.

Initially, agents believed the globe itself to be anomalous. However, through testing it was discovered that the inscriptions themselves could be replicated onto any object resembling a globe. See Experiment Log for tests conducted with SCP-5038.

Experiment Log: After discovering multiple documents regarding what the Fifthist practioners had done with the globe, multiple experiments were conducted to ascertain the abilities and limitations of SCP-5038.

Test 5038/1

Subject: The captured Repogle-brand globe, designated SCP-5038-1.

Procedure: Subject D-59375 is outfitted with a GPS tracking device. D-59375 is instructed to spin SCP-5038-1 until instructed to stop. Once activation velocity is reached, D-59375 is told to place his finger on a random point on SCP-5038-1.

Results: SCP-5038-1 slows to a stop, with D-59375's finger landing in the western half of the Gobi desert. A few moments after stopping, D-59375 disappears from the room. GPS tracking shows the subject to have been transported to the Gobi desert, about ██ km from the city of Hami in Xinjiang, China.

Analysis: SCP-5038's teleportation capabilities confirmed.
