Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be held in a 48 x 12 x 12 millimeter locked container on a table within a soundproofed room. Personnel attempting to handle or be in close proximity to SCP-XXXX are to wear ear plugs capable of withstanding 200 dB. All personnel are not permitted to use recordings of SCP-XXXX-1 without approval from Dr. █████.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a ██████ brand AAA battery weighing approximately 2 kilograms containing an unknown substance that does not produce an electrical current. Any attempts to monitor the interior of the battery have failed.
The object is found to emit a high pitched sound, designated as SCP-XXXX-1, every 2-25 days lasting between 10 and 120 minutes. Subjects exposed to the sound, designated as SCP-XXXX-2, experience spasms followed by taking a rigid position for the rest of the duration of SCP-XXXX-1. If SCP-XXXX-2 is prevented from hearing the entirety of SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX-2's vital signs stop and is presumed to be dead.

Test 09/15/██
2004: An instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is produced.
2021: One class D personnel (D-64412) enters SCP-XXXX's containment chamber wearing a noise cancelling headset with a microphone to communicate with another class D personnel (D-64584) outside of the chamber.
2022: D-64412 activates the microphone. D-64584 begins shaking violently in his seat for approximately 20 seconds before freezing in place.
2025: D-64412 is instructed to remove his headset. D-64412 does not comply and begins to cry.
2027: Dr. █████ administers D-64412 an electric shock, prompting D-64412 to take off the headset. D-64412 starts convulsing
2028: After approximately 18 seconds, D-64412 stops movement and assumes the position of attention.
2032: Researchers remove D-64584's headset. D-64584 falls onto his desk, unconscious.
2034: D-64584's vitals are checked. He is pronounced dead.
2103: SCP-XXXX-1 ceases. D-64412 slumps his head before looking around.
2105: D-64412 is escorted out of SCP-XXXX's chamber.

Addendum
SCP-XXXX-2 should not be removed from SCP-XXXX-1 which causes immediate death. Once the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 ends, SCP-XXXX-2 will not remember its experiences during or hours before hearing SCP-XXXX-1, being completely unharmed otherwise.

0016: An instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is produced.
0025: Two class D personnel (D-57737, D-67466) enter SCP-XXXX's containment chamber wearing noise cancelling headphones with a pen and paper. They are instructed to write anything significant down.
0026: D-67466 begins scribbling on his paper and shows it to the camera.

0028: D-67466 is instructed to remove his headset. D-67466 complies, spasming for approximately 25 seconds.
0030: D-57737 observes SCP-XXXX-2 and writes on her paper:
"Arms at side"
"Clenched fists"
"1000 yard stare"

0033: D-57737 is instructed to touch SCP-XXXX-2.
0036: D-57737 writes:
"skin really cold, wet"
"No heartbeat"
0037: D-57737 goes back to touch SCP-XXXX-2 again. D-57737 jumps back to her paper, scribbling quickly. She clutches her ears and rips off her headphones. D-57737 begins violently convulsing.
0055: D-57737 freezes in the position of attention. Her fingers still twitch.
0110: SCP-XXXX-1 ceases. D-57737 and D-67466 slouch before looking around in confusion.
0111: D-57737 and D-67466 are escorted out of the test chamber.
0115: Dr. █████ enters the chamber and retrieves D-57737's paper.
0116: Dr. █████ shows the paper to the camera.

Addendum
For the duration of SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX-2's vital signs stop and return to normal after exposure concludes. Making contact with SCP-XXXX-2 for a short amount of time will cause severe distress and increase the length fits caused by SCP-XXXX-1. Although D-57737 claims to have seen something, it can not be ruled out that this was simply a panic induced hallucination. Further testing is advised.

Test 10/04/██ - B
0600: A class D personnel (D-51200) is seated in a soundproof room with a monitor in front of him. D-51200 is instructed to play the video on screen.
0601: D-51200 begins watching the muted events of Test 10/04/██ - A.
0603: D-51200 is instructed to turn on the volume of the computer speakers. D-51200 suddenly twists the dials up to its maximum volume. D-51200 violently convulses for approximately 12 seconds before freezing.
0605: Dr. █████ remotely pauses the video. D-51200 collapses onto the keyboard. A researcher is sent in to check his vital signs.
0607: The researcher confirms that D-51200 is dead and he leaves the room.
0640: Dr. █████ remotely resumes the video. D-51200 jerks upright in his chair. D-51200's fit lasts for the rest of SCP-XXXX-1's recording. Note: SCP-XXXX-2 appeared to be yelling something after waking up. Consider the assistance of a lip reader…
0731: SCP-XXXX-1 in the video Test 10/04/██ - A ceases. Dr. █████ cuts power to the computer. D-51200 is successfully retrieved from the room without harm.

Addendum
SCP-XXXX-1 will not permanently kill SCP-XXXX-2 if connection is only temporarily obstructed. If SCP-XXXX-2 is allowed to hear the entirety of SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX-2 will come out of the experience completely unharmed. Any interruption of SCP-XXXX-2's perception of SCP-XXXX-1 will cause SCP-XXXX-2 to undergo intense spasms when resuming until SCP-XXXX-1 concludes. It seems that SCP-XXXX-2 is put into a sort of stasis until it finishes listening to SCP-XXXX-1.

Test 10/12/██
0500: The lifeless body of D-64584 is placed in a chair in front of a computer monitor in a soundproofed room.
0502: Dr. █████ remotely brings up a recording of Test 09/15/██ and begins playing it.
0530: 28 minutes in, D-64584 suddenly jerks upright and begins shaking.
0601: SCP-XXXX-1 ceases in the recording. D-64584 stops convulsing.
0604: D-64584 is successfully retrieved from the room. Note: a later physical diagnosis showed D-64584's body is working perfectly normal.

Addendum
Even after a month of being presumed dead, D-64584 was able to be resurrected by hearing the portions of SCP-XXXX-1 that he did not hear during Test 09/15/██, meaning SCP-XXXX is able to put SCP-XXXX-2 in stasis for long periods of time without any ill effects. The amount of time SCP-XXXX-2 can be in stasis is likely indefinite. Further testing is advised.
